THE JAPANSE STATUS OF LABORATORY ACCREDITATION BASED ON FASTENER QUALITY ACT.

  • Since 1997, JAB (The Japan Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment) had started the activity of accreditation for the laboratory based on U.S. PL101-592: the Fastener Quality Act that was signed by President Bush on 1990. The number of accredit laboratories are 69 in Japan, 21 in Taiwan, 2 in Korea and 189 in U. S. A, as of 09/10/1998. The JAB accreditation encompasses the requirements of the ISO/IEC Guide 25, and the relevant requirements of ISO 9002. The purpose of ISO/IEC Guide 25, also had been harmonized as JIS Z 9325 'General requirements for the competence of calibration and testing laboratories 'mainly facilitates and promotes acceptance of calibration and test results between countries to avoid barriers to trade through as 'one stop testing'. The features and differences between Guide 25 and ISO 9000 will be clarify in this report.

  • Today, as globalization continues and international trading blocks are formed, world markets are intensely competitive and abound in product variety, volume, complexity and environmental management. Specifically, green consumer's needs and expectations are changing and diversifying, resulting in a changed global environment for industry. Due to these changes, domestic companies are striving to achieve the Environmental Management System (ISO 14000) certification. This is considered a basis step in meeting the guiding principle and practice of ISO/TC 207/SC 3 resolution. In this paper, we will present three type(I, II, III) of Environmental Labelling programs to build a model for environmental management system by analysing practitioner and stakeholder. After companies establish an ISO 9000 quality system these companies should focus on improve toward their own Environmental Labelling program and continue to build ISO 14000.

  • In this era of globally competitive world market, many business firms have been using ISO 9000 quality management system, whose principles are leadership, customer focus, people involvement, etc., which are expected and desired to be attained for the various long/short term goals of the business firms. This paper studies whether and how those principles are implemented in the areas of service, manufacturing, etc., and researches the regression relations between business firm's performance and those principles. Using hypothesis testing, we found and showed results which can be referenced for the higher performance of business firms and those can be added to the pool of knowledge about the ISO principles implementation in service and manufacturing industries.

  • This paper suggests to guideline food safety and economic gains in the restaurant business Industry. First, provide useful tools for easily understanding in the food safety and express warranty Second, manage all documents like sanitation report, claim report in related to the product liability as a precautions. Third, execute fast & proper action for consumer's demage. Fourth, organize positively brand image in the corporate. Fifth, implement useful tools in the product standard and qualification such as ISO9000, HACCP, and PLMS. Sixth. Support co-partner against product liability. Seventh, take a action early for product liability in the foodservice industry.

  • 항공 산업은 다양한 요소가 유기적으로 결합된 복합시스템으로 고장 또는 사고가 발생하면 큰 희생과 비용을 초래한다. 또한 복구와 신뢰회복에 많은 자원과 노력이 소모되므로 높은 안전과 신뢰성이 요구된다. 따라서 항공 산업에서 제품 또는 시스템을 개발, 생산 및 운용함에 있어 안전성과 신뢰성의 입증을 위해 엄격한 인증 제도를 규정하고 있다. 현재 항공품질경영시스템은 모든 산업에 걸쳐 공통으로 사용할 수 있는 ISO9000을 기반으로 항공 산업의 자본집약적, 기술집약적인 특징요소를 추가시켜 AS9100으로 제정하였고, 2009년 AS9100C로 제정되었다. ISO9000의 기반으로 성장한 AS9100은 품질경영에 있어서 강력한 관리 규격이지만 신뢰성경영(Dependability Management)에 있어서는 미흡하다. 때문에 항공품질경영시스템의 신뢰성 향상을 위해 신뢰성경영시스템의 통합으로 효과적 실행을 모색하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 항공품질경영시스템과 신뢰성경영시스템의 구성을 살펴보고, 항공품질경영시스템과 신뢰성경영시스템에서 다루고 있는 핵심 개념인 품질과 신뢰성의 차이점을 비교할 것이다. 또한 각 규격의 요구사항을 비교하여 항공품질경영시스템의 신뢰성과 안전성, 보전성에 향상을 위한 신뢰성경영시스템의 통합을 제시하고자 한다.

ISO 9001:2000 QMS Practices Analysis of Machinery and Metal Manufacturing Companies (기계금속 제조업체의 ISO 9001:2000 품질경영시스템 운용분석)

  • The organizations that adopted ISO 9000:1994 have upgraded to ISO 9001:2000 family through transition period by December, 2003. This paper focuses on the implementation of ISO 9001:2000 QMS in Busan and Kyungnam provinces where most machinery and metal manufacturing companies are located. Based on the questionnaire survey, we calculate ordinal association measures of requirements questions, perform factor analysis, and test three hypotheses to ascertain if there is any difference in implementing ISO 9001:2000 QMS. Results show that a professional manager-CEO maintains QMS general requirements(4.1), work environment(6.4), measurement analysis and improvement general(8.1), and monitoring and measurement(8.2) better than an owner-CEO. In addition, it has been found that customer focus(5.2) and improvement(8.5) are well maintained in companies by internal developmental reasons, and infrastructure(6.3) and purchasing(7.4) are well maintained by companies with long term implementation.

  • 많은 6시그마 혁신을 하는 기업 중에서 ISO9000 시리즈나 ISO/TS16949 인증을 받고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 6시그마 도입 초기부터 ISO/TS16949와 통합운영을 생각하고 추진하는 곳은 많지 않다. ISO/TS16949에서는 기업전반의 프로세스에 많은 중점을 두고 있다. 그 중에서도 APQP(Advanced Product Quality Planning)은 제품 초기에서부터 명확한 품질계획 업무 프로세스를 가지고 활동을 하라는 필수 프로세스를 요구하고 있다. 그러나 구체적인 Flow나 단계는 각 기업체의 특성에 맞기고 있다. 6시그마의 Lean DFSS는 이러한 제품개발 프로세스의 구체적인 전계단계를 제공하고 있다 여기에 APQP에서 요건으로 명시한 각 프로세스 단계마다 Input요소, Output요소, Target, 그 프로세스를 책임질 구성원, 핵심성공요인, 핵심성공지수, 단계마다의 FMEA(Failure Mode Effect Analysis) 분석을 대응하면 도입 초기에서부터 상호 유기적이면서 효과적인 System이 된다.

An Empirical Study on the Effect and Operation of QMS (중소기업의 QMS 운영과 효과에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • In 2008, a review was made to analyze the effect of the certification of ISO 9001 quality management system in the almost same methods used for a similar review in 2001. Based on the two reviews, this research is to compare and contrast the changes made in between. The results show that the overall satisfaction for the certification has increased over 7 years, along with other beneficial changes, such as decreased cost and increased productivity. However, there has been no significant change in the establishment of the quality management system and in the level of customer satisfaction. ISO 9001 quality management system construction appears which effects variously on the all enterprises management, therefore this is very important strategy for preparing the keen enterprises competition.

Classroom lecture monitoring case study

  • Recently classroom monitoring is becoming important since the lecture is being held in the classroom and academic institutions are interested in the quality assurance. Some institutions have adopted ISO 9000 systems and constructed monitoring system through measurement, analysis and improvement. In this study quality assurance problems in academic institutions and the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 will be briefly discussed. Next we will investigate how to monitor the lecture in the classroom(in-class) using statistical process control techniques such as control charts. Then case study will be given to illustrate the technique to use appropriate statistics. Finally how to monitor the learning process during in-class and after-class will be proposed.

  • Nowadays, public domain software CALS/EC projects give their attention to the importance of test and evaluation (T&E). This article proposed a survey on T&E procedures of the international standards ISO 9000-3, ISO/IEC 9126 and ISO 14598, and of the U.S. Army pamphlet as well as that of MIL-STD-498. And features of testing tools such as their characteristics were reviewed for a reference in selecting appropriate one. Large-scale software projects often encounter with problems during T&E, when they become close to the end of development cycle. The problems generally act as a bottleneck of a project, leading to slippage of the entire schedule. This article tried a close look at the problems and solution alternatives of the T&E policy, management, and technical issues, and proposed a T&E model to support a variety of software development environment.
