HOT, WARM, AND COLD CORES: GOLDILOCKS MEETS MASSIVE STAR FORMATION

  • Molecular clouds present many levels of structure, including clumps and cores of varying size and density. We present a brief summary of these cores, describing their observed physical properties and their place in the star formation process. We conclude with some speculation about pre-proto-stellar stages of molecular cores and the observational challenges in their observation.

  • High-velocity clouds are flows of neutral hydrogen, located at high galactic latitudes, with large velocities ($[VLSR]{\ge} 100 km/s$) that do not match a simple model of circular rotation for our Galaxy. Numerical simulations have been performed for the last 20 years to study the details of their evolution, and their possible interaction with the Galactic disk. Here we present a brief review of the models that have been already published, and describe newly performed three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic simulations.

  • In this project, all available databases of molecular and gas-dust clouds in the Galaxy were cross-identified by taking into account available properties, including position, angular dimensions, velocity, density, temperature and mass. An initial list of about 7000 entries was condensed into a cross-identified all-sky catalogue containing molecular and gas-dust clouds. Some relationships were studied between the main physical features of clouds. Finally, we prepared a complex observing program and address future work for filling in the gaps.

  • 본 논문에서는 WRC-12 의제 8.1.1과 관련하여 ISM 기기로부터 전파통신 서비스의 영향을 파악할 목적으로 CISPR 통계적인 전파혼신 모형과 CISPR 11의 방사 기준치를 수신전력 관점에서 분석하였고, 산업공단에 설치된 열처리용 ISM 기기와 병원의 MRI로부터 복사되는 전파세기의 필드 측정치를 제시하였다. 본 논문의 분석결과에 따르면, 2.3GHz 주파수 대역에 적용되는 CISPR 11의 방사 첨두치 $110dB{\mu}V/m@3m$와 가중치 $60dB{\mu}V/m@3m$는 와이브로 보호를 위하여 재검토할 필요가 있다.

  • The purposes of this study were to compare and analyze application cases of POP(Point of Purchase) in each ISM(In Store Merchandising) for domestic and imported cosmetics. to present basic data for setting up effective marketing strategies according to types of ISM. The results were as follows : 1. In the Department Stores, counselling comers for customers were located at all domestic and imported cosmetics. A small quantify of new release cosmetic items were displayed in order to elevate those added value in most cosmetics floors excepts Estee Lauder. 2. In the Discount Stores, most cosmetic items were displayed in category or in color for customers to choose those easily. 3. In the Cosmetics Specialties. display for show case couldn't be accessible by customers and cosmetic items were disordered because too many itmes from various companies were displayed

Creep Life Prediction for Udimet 720 Material Using the Initial Strain Method (ISM)

  • Despite of considerable research results or uniaxial tension creep available for superalloys, few studies have been made on high temperature creep using the Initial Stram Method (ISM) In this paper, the real-time prediction of high temperature creep strength and creep lift for the nickel-based superalloy Udimet 720 (high-temperature and high-pressure gas turbine engine materials) was performed on round-bar type specimens under pure static load at the temperatures of 538$^{\circ}C$. 649$^{\circ}C$, and 704$^{\circ}C$. The predictive equation derived from the ISM in creep tests showed better reliability than those from LMP (Larson-Miller Parameter) and LMP-lSM (Larson Miller Parameter-Initial Strain Method) specially for long time creep prediction (10$^3$∼10$\^$5/h).

Design of Implantable CPW Fed Monopole Antenna for ISM Band Applications

  • An implantable CPW fed monopole antenna embedded into human tissue is proposed for ISM band biomedical applications. The proposed antenna is made compatible for implantation by embedding it in an alumina ceramic substrate (${\Box}_r=9.8$ and thickness=0.65 mm). The proposed antenna covers the ISM band of 2.45 GHz. The radiation parameters, such as return loss, E-Plane, H-Plane, are measured and analyzed, using the method of moments. The proposed antenna has substantial merits over other implanted antennas, like low profile, miniaturization, lower return loss, and better impedance matching and high gain.

  • 본 연구에서는 ISM Code 의 국내도입에 따른 성과를 실증 분석하였다. 안전관리체제 도입 성과를 21 개 항목으로 조사한 결과, 5점 만점에 3.5점으로 전반적으로 도입성과가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 내항 해운기업보다는 외항 해운기업이, 98년 이후 가동기업 보다는 그 이전 기업이, 중소기업보다는 대기업에서 ISM 시스템이 정착되고 도입 성과도 높은 것으로 분석됐다. 본 연구는 국내 도입이 본격적으로 진행된 지난 1995년 이후 10여년 경과 시점에 연구가 진행되어 매우 시의적절하다고 할 수 있겠다.

Observations of the CH3OH 42-51 E Line Toward the Sgr B2 Region

  • The $CH_3OH$ $4_2-5_1$ E transition was observed toward the Sgr B2 region, including the Principal Cloud and its surroundings. This methanol transition shows an extended emission along the 2'N cloud, which is believed to be colliding with the Principal Cloud and may trigger the massive star formation in this cloud. This extended methanol emission may also suggest that the 2'N cloud is under shocks. We derive total methanol column density $N(CH_3OH)\;=\;2.9{\pm}0.3{\times}10^{14}\;cm^{-2}$ toward the peak position of the extended emission. The fractional abundance of methanol is about 10.9, relative to the estimated total $H_2$ abundance, which is similar to the methanol abundances in quiet gas phase.

The radiation parameters such as return loss, xy-plane, xz-plane, and yz-plane etc., are measured and analyzed using the agilent vector network analyzer. The proposed antenna has substantial advantages, including low profile, miniaturization ability, lower return loss, better impedance matching, and high gain over conventional implanted antennas.
