On the Study of the Seasonality Precipitatio over South Korea (남한의 강수 계절성에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzes the seasonality precipitation using precipitation data from 1973 to 2001 over South Korea. The Seasonality Index and Annual variation of the Seasonality Precipitation were investigated from sixty-three observation stations. The Seasonality Precipitation means the degree of the precipitation falling intensively for some specific months. Spatially, precipitation that has a strong characteristic of regional shower is defined as seasonal precipitation. Precipitation forms are changed with various reasons and mainly the sporadic and local shower precipitation after rain spell in summer. Especially there appears a tendency that this kind of precipitation is sharply increasing in 1990's. Seasonality Index is used as a method to understand seasonal precipitation. If the yearly rainfall is concentrated for some specific months, Seasonality Index is growing gradually. It is confirmed that there is a tendency that all the from sixty-two observation stations Seasonality Index. While Seasonality Index over South of Korea concentrated from June to August because of the summer rain spell in the past ($1973{\sim}1982$), there appears to be a tendency that it concentrated from August and September since the mid 1990's. From the analysis of seasonal precipitation intensity distribution, most of southern Korea is under seasonality precipitation intensity 4. The seasonality precipitation intensity classification results are as follow: most of the observation stations were on a scale intensity of 3 and 4 in the past but currently reads seasonality precipitation intensities of 5 and 6.

The Influence of Consumer Need Satisfaction and Star Traits on Consumer Attachment to Star Brand and Consumer Response to Product Brand Sponsored by Star Brand (소비자 욕구충족성과 스타 속성이 스타브랜드 애착과 후원브랜드에 대한 소비자반응에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is based on recent advances in celebrity traits and self-determination researches to address how consumers develop the strong attachment to a "star brand," and the effect of consumer's attachment to star brand on evaluation of product brand sponsored by the star. We use the consumers' need satisfaction and star traits as major causal factors that influence consumer's attachment to a star brand. Specifically this article uses autonomy need, relatedness need, competence need as the dimensions of need satisfaction and expertness, trustworthiness, likeability, and similarity as the key star traits. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of these factors on the consumer's attachment to star brand and how consumer's evaluation of product brand sponsored by star is moderated by the fitness level of between the image of star brand and the image of sponsored product brand. To collect the data, survey was taken in a University located in Incheon. Collected data are analysed using SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 7.0. The results show that when the star brand is perceived as more trustworthy and likeable, and satisfies autonomy need and relatedness need, the consumer is more likely to become strongly attached to him or her. The hypothesis that consumer's attachment to star brand will have the positive influence on the evaluation of product brand sponsored by star is supported. And hypothesis that consumer's attitude to a sponsored product brand is moderated by the fitness level of between the image of star brand and the image of sponsored product brand is also supported. The empirical results imply that star brand to which consumers are attached may have the significant positive impact on the consumers' evaluation process of endorsed product brand and purchase behavior, and that marketers should consider need dimensions which target consumers want to satisfy and the fitness level of between the image of star brand being considered as endorser and the image of product brand.

A Study on Evaluation of Safety on Two-Lane Rural Highways (지방부 2차로 안전성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose of this paper is proposing technical evaluation method for safety on two-lane rural highways, this method can contribute to an establishment of the safety evaluation criteria and eventually contribute to the highway safety. In this study, accident data and field data(grade, radius, speed factor) are collected and are analyzed. And new technical evaluation method is proposed by problem in review of existent methods and analysis result. Property of new method is verified by comparing with existent one. Following are results of this study. 1) Proposed technical evaluation method is Proposed by using difference of speed variance and difference of acceleration. 2) In range of field survey, proposed method is more proper than existent one by comparing. 3) Headways under 6 second affect speed of next vehicle. 4) A point with the lowest speed in curve is placed about 35m from the beginning point. 5) Correlation of speed variance and severity of highway(EPDO) is statistically significant. For using proposed method, more tests are needed on other locations with various geometries. Moreover, advanced study is needed about classifying and giving the weight of each criterion.

A Web-based Model for Mobile Compliance Analysis of Software Contents (소프트웨어 컨텐츠의 모바일 적합성 분석을 위한 웹 기반 모델)

  • A web-based model for implementation of mobile compliance analysis system for software contents is proposed. It is said that the content is compliant if the content can be executed properly in mobile environment. The mobile compliance analysis of contents is very important because contents can't be serviced if they arc not proper for mobile environment. The categories of mobile compliance analysis for software contents are proposed. The model of this paper uses the Factory Method pattern and the Facade pattern. The workflow of the s${\gamma}$stem is described through collaborations of classes in the model. As a case study, core Java APIs for implementation of the model arc represented and the mobile compliance analysis system for HDML contents has been built. The model is flexible so that it is easy to add new modules or remove some modules for contents analysis. Although the model is based on the JSP and Java beans, it can be expanded to support any other programming technique such as EJB.

  • The interest in enhancing creativity in the areas of education and business is at on all time high. It was claimed that there are two underlying assumptions behind the research in enhancing creativity: One is that creativity is a construct revealing individual differences, and the other is that creativity is a cognitive skill. After the origins of these assumptions were examined, their validity was discussed. It was argued that there is no strong empirical evidence to support these assumptions, although they are still viable working hypotheses. A brief discussion on the future direction was followed to identify creativity as a cognitive skill revealing individual differences.

  • A serious game is to design for not amusement but special aim. It can be defined of the game which have various useful aspects. It is a different game which exists important the proper function through interactive action compared to general games. English education games have a goal which is the English Study in addition to amusement. It's important one which is to have an immersiveness to be accomplished studying through games for users. In this paper, an effective analysis and design method of serious game using UML, that is Objected Oriented Analysis and Design Method, and Storyboard to develop a serious game "Guessing correctly english words over playing joyfully" is presented.

  • Assessment of program achievement is an essential item to analyze and improve the engineering education program. Program achievements are the abilities to be obtained after finishing the 4 year engineering program, and the program achievements should be evaluated for the quality improvement of program. There are two important considerations to determine the assessment method. the first one is reliability and the second one is the feasibility. In this paper, we propose a assessment tools and introduce the assessment methods of program outcomes. The proposed method is designed to enhance the reliability and feasibility of assessment in engineering education.

  • Conformance testing is to test whether an implementation faithfully meets the requirements of a standard or specification. Above all, it is important to test conformance for XML processors because system errors caused by XML processor without conformance affect badly all related XML based systems. Thus, it is essential to implement XML processors with conformity for the sake of interoperability between XML based systems. In this paper, we survey related works. and describe our method and tool for XML conformance testing. And we show our testing result for Xerces 1.4.4. which is developed as Apache's XML project. as an example.

Real Option Analysis for Medium-scale CHP Plant Investment with Volatile Electricity Prices (실물옵션을 이용한 소형열병합발전의 경제성 평가 : 전력가격 변동성을 고려하여)

  • The combined heat-and-power (CHP) plant is recently suggested as an effective resolution in response to recent rising oil prices and the Kyoto Protocol. This research provides a model for economic appraisal to evaluate CHP investment. Real option model is developed to incorporate a case where the investment is irreversible and underlying revenue is stochastic. The analysis shows that power plant capacity more than 40 Gcal makes CHP investment profitable while the results may vary 10 modest level with respect to investment cost, heat sales price and discount rate.
