Iron regulatory proteins (IRPs) 1 and 2 bind with equally high affinity to specific RNA stem-loop sequences known as iron-responsive elements (IRE) which mediate the post-transcriptional regulation of many genes of iron metabolism. To study putative IRE-like sequences in RNA transcripts using the IRP-IRE interaction, Eight known genes from database were selected and the RNA binding activity of IRE-like sequences were compared to IRP-2. Among them, the IRE-like sequence in 3'-untranslational region (UTR) of divalent ration transporter-1 (DCT-1) shows a significant RNA binding affinity. This finding predicts that IRE consensus sequence present within 3'-UTR of DCT-1 might confer the regulation by IRP-2.

[Purpose] The purpose of this study is to point out the issue of pensions and retirement income tax which were amended from 2012 to 2016 and present a rational and intellectual improvement to this issue. [Methodology] This study was carried out a literature survey about the tax laws of pension income and retirement income. In order to confirm the differences between the case-by-case tax burden, calculated the effect of tax burden by presenting the examples in the case of retirement income. [Findings] It is necessary to apply the differential multiples in accordance with the seniority when leaving the company rather than applying the five times or 12 times in the tax base as the current retirement income tax. Also, It should be given the flexibility of pension income to ease the requirements of inevitable temporary receipt of a pension income. In addition, it is needed to expand separate taxation threshold which is current 12 million won. Finally, the annual limit of tax incentives for IRP should be increased significantly more than the current 7 million won. [Implications] The improvement of the study is to offer suggestions on the revision of retirement income and pension income taxation to the tax authorities or National Pension Service and retirement pension providers. The result of this study is expected to be used as reference to develop policy options on the legislative process.

Recently, there has been rapid and spectacular increase in world wide counterfeiting and other forms of piracy. According to the World Customs Organization(WCO), counterfeiting accounts for 5 to 7 percent of global merchandise trade, equivalent to lost sales of as much as US$512 billion last year. Also Korean firms' damages arising from the infringement of intellectual property rights in global markets, especially in China market, are increasing. However, the existing studies on the intellectual property rights(IRP) protection have mainly focused on legal protection. Because the law is often not the best defense against theft of intellectual property rights, we must develop more effective defensive weapons for protection of IRP. Given this troublesome trend, the intention of this paper is to discuss strategic and tactical efforts, including legal protection, that can serve as proactive measures to deter counterfeiting and thus to assure the protection of Korean firms' intellectual property rights.

The orbit characteristics and perturbation effects of an artificial satellite with critical inclination have been studied. The critical inclination problem in artificial satellite theory is treated as Ideal Resonance Problem(IRP). The KITSAT-1 satellite launched by Arian 42P at Guiana in August 11, 1992 has orbital inclination close to the critical value cos-1(1/√5). In that case, there is a singularity in some perturbation terms and perigee of the orbit is fixed because d$\omega$/dt is theoretically equal to zero. But actually the long periodic behaviour in argument of perigee, $\omega$ shows a small oscillation. The causes of the oscillation and the relativistic effect in IRP have been studied and applied to the KITSAT-1. The geo-potential perturbation terms which are seperated inclination terms have been obtained using Algebraic manipulation. Also luni-solar disturbing funtion based on the relative position of the sun, moon, and satellite has been obtained. Phase portraits are used to depict the change of eccentricity and grgument of perigee. The variations of each orbital elements have been obtained in case of the KITSAT-1.

Recently, electric utility is facing substantially new stream of business environment, such as pressure of business restructuring, competition with private IPPs, diversification of supply-side and demand-side resource options, environmental externalities and uncertainties. Integrated resource planning(IRP) is very useful and powerful approach for solving complex and diversified electricity supply and demand problems. This paper presents a standardized IRP procedure using multi-attribute decision analysis approach. The selection of the most desirable plan is based on multi-attribute trade-off/risk analysis method and score ranking method. As a case study, 50 plans with 12 scenarios are analyzed.

The automation of the machining and manufacturing process of press die is designed to shorten the working time by avoiding unnecessary repetitive works and to obtain subject articles with standard quality. Automation as used in this paper includes 3-D die design, machining center, wire-cut electrical discharge machining, and drawing works. This paper deals with research work on the automation of the machining and manufacturing process of the press die after 3-D die design using the Irp bracket for the control box sensor. The research was conducted under the same setting as that of die design.
