Stand-Alone Pico-Hydro Generation System using a High-Efficiency IPM Synchronous Generator

  • This paper presents a successful stand-alone pico-hydro generation system using a high-efficiency interior permanent-magnet (IPM) synchronous generator. A 1-kW 4-pole V-type IPM generator with low voltage regulation is used for laboratory test in stand-alone hydro energy conversion system. It has been found from experimental results that the constant output voltage is supplied stably by the proposed system under wide speed range.

Detonation Wave Simulation of Thermally Cracked JP-7 Fuel/Oxygen Mixture using Induction Parameter Modeling (Induction Parameter Modeling을 이용한 열 분해된 JP-7 연료 /산소 혼합기의 데토네이션 파 해석)

  • The detonation wave characteristics of JP-7 and oxygen mixture is investigated by one-step induction parameter model (IPM) obtained from a detailed chemistry mechanism. A general procedure of obtaining reliable one-step kinetics IPM for hydrocarbon mixture from the fully detailed chemistry is described in this study. The IPM is obtained by the reconstruction of the induction time database obtained from a detailed kinetics library. The IPM was confirmed by the comparison of the induction time calculations with that from detailed kinetics. The IPM is later implemented to a fluid dynamics code and applied for the numerical simulation of detonation wave propagation. The numerical results show the detailed characteristics of the detonation wave propagation in JP-7 and oxygen mixture at affordable computing time, which is not be possible by the direct application of the detailed chemical kinetics mechanism of hydrocarbon fuel combustion.

Calcitonin Transport through Skin Using Iontophoresis

  • The objective of this work is to study transdermal delivery of calcitonin using iontophoresis and to evaluate various factors which affect the transdermal transport. We have studied the effect of polarity, current density, drug concentration, penetration enhancers (isopropyl myristate [IPM] and ethanol) and laser treatment on transdermal flux and the results were compared. We also investigated the iontophoretic flux from microemulsions containing calcitonin together with oleic acid (OA) or IPM. In vitro flux study was performed at $33^{\circ}C$, using side-by-side diffusion cell and full thickness hairless mouse skin. Anodal delivery at pH 3.0 was much larger than cathodal and passive delivery, due to the positive charge of calcitonin. Cumulative amount delivered (CUM) by cathodal or passive delivery was close to zero for 10 hours. The pretreatment of skin by neat IPM markedly increased the CUM anodically. CUM increased as the current density, drug concentration or the duration of IPM treatment increased. Microemulsion containing IPM or oleic acid was prepared and the phase diagram was constructed. CUM also increased when IPM was incorporated into a microemulsion. OA microemulsion showed similar enhancing effect to IPM microemulsion. The delivery of calcitonin from 70% (v/v) ethanol aqueous solution showed a large increase in flux. Laser treatment of skin before flux experiment exhibited about 2 fold increase in total calcitonin amount transported for 12 hours, when compared to that delivered by IPM microemulsion. Based on these results, we have evaluated the possibility of delivering enough amount of calcitonin to reach the therapeutic level. The data suggest that it is highly possible to deliver clinically effective amount of calcitonin using iontophoresis patch with small area (<10 $cm^2$).

Pharmacokinetics of Carbapenem Antibiotics in Rats and Guinea pigs

  • 1, 흰쥐에서 IPM 단독투여시보다 DHP-I 저해제인 CS와의 병용투여시 AUC가 4배 이상, t$_{1}$2/가 약 3배 증가하였으며 MEPM의 경우는 AUC가 5배 이상, t$_{1}$2/가 약 1.8배 증가하였다. 2. Guinea pig에서 IPM 단독투여시보다 CS와의 병용투여시 AUC가 약 2.5배, t$_{1}$2/가 약 1.4배 증가하였으며 MEPM의 경우는 AUC, t$_{1}$2/ 모두 거의 변함이 없었다. 3. 위의 결과 흰쥐에서 IPM과 MEPM에 대한 CS의 영향이 매우 큰 것으로 나타났으며 따라서 약물동력학적인 파라메타에도 커다란 변화를 주었다. 반대로 Guinea Pig에서는 CS의 병용투여로 IPM의 AUC에만 변동을 주었을 뿐 t$_{l}$ 2/에는 크게 영향을 미치지 않았고 MEPM의 체내동태에는 거의 영향을 미치지 않았다. 4. Guinea pig에서 전체 투여량에 대한 MEPM의 요중회수율은 66.58$\pm$3.44%이었고 IPM의 경우는 7.00$\pm$0.95%이었다. 그러나 DHP-I 저해제인 CS와의 병용투여시 IPM의 요중회수율이 57.77$\pm$11.46%로 증가하여 MEPM과 거의 비슷한 양상을 나타냈다. 이는 guinea pig에서 DHP-I에 의한 IPM의 대사가 CS에 의해 차단됨을 시사하는 것이라고 사료되며 guinea pig에 존재하는 DHP-I은 MEPM보다 IPM에 대해 더 높은 친화도를 갖는 것으로 사료된다. 5. Carbapenem계 항생제의 약물동력학적 스크리닝을 위한 소동물로는 흰쥐보다도 guinea pig가 적합한 것으로 생각되나 동물종차에 의한 약물동력학적 연구 및 DHP-I의 활성에 대한 연구가 더 면밀히 이루어져야 할 것으로 생각되며 BO-2727, panipenem, biapenem 등 다른 carbapenem 항생제에 대한 광범위한 약물동력학적 연구가 진행되어 새로운 carbapenem계 항생제 개발에 따른 인체내 거동을 예측할 수 있는 치적의 실험동물모델이 확립되어야 할 것이다.

Biodiversity of Epigeic Spider Community in Pear Orchards Managed using Different Farming Methods (배 과원의 재배형태별 토양성 거미군집의 생물다양성)

  • This study was conducted to compare the community structure and biodiversity of epigeic spiders between pear fields cultivated by integrated pest management (IPM) and organic methods. This is the first study of this kind to be conducted in Korea. Eighty-four spider species from 22 families were identified among the collected 2,489 arthropods, with 754 individuals being sampled from IPM fields and 1,735 individuals from organic fields. Generally, Theridiidae, Linyphiidae, Lycosidae, Agelenidae, Gnaphosidae, and Salticidae were the dominant spider families in the pear orchard regardless of the farming methods, and species richness and abundance were higher in organic fields than in IPM fields. The dominant species were the wolf spiders (Lycosidae) and stone spiders (Gnaphosidae), and their cumulative abundance was 70.7% in IPM fields and 72.7% in organic fields. The community structure between organic and IPM fields was heterogeneous, with a 45% similarity level. Biodiversity, species richness, abundance, and species diversity index were higher in organic fields than in IPM fields, and significantly different between the farming methods. Seasonal fluctuations in biodiversity were similar in both IPM and organic fields. The species richness and species diversity index increased and the abundance decreased in the second half of the cultivation period. This study on the community structure and biodiversity of epigeic spiders, which form one of the most important predator groups, will provide principal ecological and faunistic information required to maintain the biodiversity of useful arthropods in agricultural ecosystems and help implement sustainable agriculture based on the active use of natural enemies.

  • 영구자석을 삽입하는 IPM(Interior Permanent Magnet : 이하 IPM) 방식의 동기전동기 설계에서 브리지의 형상 결정은 기계적인 안정성을 확보하고 출력 요구사양을 만족시키기 위해 구조해석과 자기회로 해석을 병행하여 검토하는 것을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 IPM타입 동기전동기를 대상으로 회전자 원심력이 정적상태로 인가되는 정하중 조건과 속도변화가 시간에 따라 변하는 동하중 조건일 경우를 구분하여 설계 여유를 분석하였으며, 영구자석의 접착여부에 따라 브리지에 발생하는 응력 분포의 차이를 해석하였다. 또한, 동하중 상태에서 재료의 응력-피로 특성을 통해 피로 한계 조건을 설계단계에서 예측하였다.

  • 본 논문은 매입자석형 동기전동기 (Interior Permanent Magnet Motor, 이하 IPM)의 Sensorless 제어에 관한 것이다. IPM에서 벡터제어를 수행하기 위해서는 계자분 전류와 토크분 전류로 나누어서 제어를 해줘야 한다. 이때, 토크는 영구자석과 직교하는 방향으로 토크분 전류를 인가해줘야 하기 때문에, 영구자속에 의해 발생하는 자속의 정확한 위치를 알아야 하고, 그로 인하여 엔코더 등의 자극위치센서를 사용해야 한다. 따라서, IPM은 일반적으로 Sensored제어를 하게 된다. 그러나, 고가의 장치인 엔코더 등의 자극위치센서를 사용하지 않고 적절한 제어를 수행해주기 위하여 여러 sensorless 기법들이 개발되어 발전되었다. 본 논문에서는 자속추정기를 이용하여 자속을 추정하고, 이를 이용하여 모터의 회전속도 및 회전각을 추정함으로써 Sensorless제어가 가능하였다. 본 제어 알고리즘은 자사 벡터제어 인버터인 iV5를 통해 실험하여 확인하였다.

  • Several techniques have been adopted in motor design of interior permanent magnet (IPM) type brushless DC (BLDC) motor to minimize cogging torque. IPM type motor has better ability in the centralization of flux than surface-mounted permanent magnet (SPM) type BLDC motor. So, the structure of IPM type BLDC motor has high saliency ratios that produce additional torque. However, this structure has a significant cogging torque that generates both vibration and noise. This paper describes new technique of the flux barriers design for reduction of cogging torque of IPM type BLDC motor. To reduce the cogging torque, flux barriers are applied in the rotor. Changing the number of barrier, the cogging torque is analyzed by finite clement method(FEM).

  • For low power motor control, there are increasing demands for compactness, cost effective and built in many functions. Hence Intelligent Power Module(IPM) is considered as an important technology in inverter-driven motor applications. Regarding BID-IPM(Built In DC/DC converter, Intelligent Power Module) newly developed to integrate NPT-IGBT, HVIC and Flyback converter in a compact package, this paper discussed design of BID-IPM and presented the experimental results by using signal source board and equivalent load test board.
