The importance-performance analysis (IPA) is a widely used analytical technique that produces a priority of managerial attention for the customer satisfaction. This study attempted to compare various different approaches of IPA such as direct and indirect measurement of importance, and traditional four quadrants grid model and diagonal grid model of IPA. Data on 17 inpatient service quality attributes were collected from 234 inpatients of a general hospital. Eight IPA grids were produced to compare the result of each model. Based on the study results the strength and weakness of each model were discussed, and a set of recommendations for practical application of the IPA in hospital settings was suggested.

The measurement and management of patient satisfaction has become one of the key issues in the last two decades. Hospitals must thoroughly understand the needs of their customers and design products and health services that meet and exceed their expectations. The importance-performance analysis(IPA) is a widely used analytical technique that yields strategies for managing customer satisfaction in a variety of applications. IP A is a two-dimensional grid based on customer-perceived importance of quality attributes and attribute performance. Depending on the interplay of these two dimensions, four strategies can be derived. The aim of this study is to develop the management strategies for improving patient satisfaction in university hospitals using the I-P analysis. The attributes on inpatient service quality in 4 university hospitals was investigated using the Martilla and James(l977)' s a mean adjusted I-P grid where the axes of the grid cross at the average rating point of all items. The patient satisfaction questionnaires were completed by 600 hospital inpatients. The main statistical methods are path analysis and IPA with SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 4.0 statistical softwares. The two attributes, physician and medical service, administrative staff kindness attributes position in first quadrant(Keep Up the Good domain). The nurse and nursing service attributes position in second quadrant(Possible Overkill domain). The two attributes, convenience of check-in service, facilities and physical environment position in third quadrant(Low Priority domain). Finally the quality of inpatient service(food etc.) attributes position in fourth quadrant(Concentrate Here domain). These findings show various implications on the development of strategies in university hospitals in the future. It was determined that quality of inpatient service(food etc.) need to concentrate more on investments. These investments include a taste, price, proper provision of food service and quick response of pain management. A low priority was given to investment in streamlining the check-in process of inpatient and hospital facilities and physical environment in the long run.

This study aimis to identify policy priorities for promoting youth activities through the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). IPA is used to identify policy priorities for promoting local youth activities. The IPA tabulated result is presented in a two-dimensional grid to showing for promoting local youth activities, The require concentrate support part is divided into 3 parts. Problem solve supporting at work development of leisure activities programs, leisure activities programs developing and development of leisure-related professionals. And leisure-related professionals developing. The next parts that require continuous management were divided into four parts. The next parts that require continuous management is divided into four parts. Creating rental housing for young people, support for housing expenses supporting, loans supporting, and Holiday guaranteed. Based on the factors that support youth activities that make up the IPA matrix, the implications of revitalizing local youth activities is presented as below. First, ensuring employment of local youth and efforts to create sustainable jobs. Second, continuous efforts to improve the housing conditions of local youth, and third, policy support is needed for local youth to do various leisure activities.

The purposes of this study were to investigate students' perception on importance and performance of service quality of university foodservice, and to examine Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) of foodservice quality for male and female students. A total of 500 university students in Daejeon were surveyed and 432 responses were returned. Excluding responses with significant missing data, 412 responses were used for data analysis. In terms of importance of service quality attributes, 'sanitation(4.74)' category received the highest score, followed by 'food(4.36)', 'service(4.22)', 'convenience(4.01)', 'menu(3.90)' and 'atmosphere(3.73)'. In terms of performance, the highest service quality attribute was associated with 'convenience(3.30)', followed by 'service(3.06)', 'sanitation(2.95)', 'food(2.88)', 'atmosphere(2.79)' and 'menu(2.68)'. As the results of IPA, 'staff's kindness', 'overall quality of service', 'taste of the food', 'freshness of the food', 'overall quality of the food', and 'cleanliness of the facility' fell into the Quadrant IV(Focus here) for female students. On the other hand, male students' IPA grid illustrated that 'taste of the food', 'freshness of the food', 'nutrition of the food', 'sanitation of the food', and 'sanitation of the utensils' fell into Quadrant IV(Focus here).

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the review of previous studies based on audiobooks, 1) using the IPA method, we examine the quality of audiobooks that listeners perceive as important and the quality of preferred audiobooks, 2) improvement directions for activating audio content and audiobook platform, to seek ways to establish strategic plans for the audiobook market. Design/methodology/approach This study conducted and experiment using three factors(usability, information and interaction) used in web service quality(WebQual). Usability consists of the availability of time, such as the use of audiobooks for hobbies and the ease of search. Information consists of the trends of the times, topics of converation and the latest trends. Interaction consists of the proportion and depth of celebrities. After that, grid analysis was performed using the traditional IPA method and the revised IPA method. It was judged that identifying and analyzing the preference for service provision and new content was more valuable than the Performance used in the existing method. Findings According to the results of the empirical analysis, it was found that the conversation material corresponding to informativity did not affect the audiobook during the online quality analysis. It is believed that improvements can be found through content production related to entertainment, webtoons, and general common sense that can increase listeners' interest. In addition, it was found that the advertising effect of celebrities corresponding to interactivity did not affect the results of this study, which should increase the concentration and immersion of listeners by increasing the technology for audiobooks.

Purposes of this study were to apply and examine that the importance-performance analysis(IPA) could be a useful park management tool. The IPA is an easily-applied technique developed in marketing field to measure attribute importance and performance. It displays them simultaneously on a 4-quardrant action grid; therefore, park managers can upgrade current services and address marketing strategies for various user segments. The children's grand park was selected as a study are. Two different types of questionaires were utilized for data analyses. They were collected from one respondent by on-site distribution or by mail survey, because attribute importance and performance should be rated before and after visiting a park, respectively. Then, total data was segmented systematically by 2 variables-age and benefit sought. Action grids from order to meet the needs of each segment. Several comments on both data collection methods and segment variables selection were described to improve the IPA in recreation settings for future researches.

This study aims to identify the dimensions of trade show performance in Iranian trade shows and apply the revised importance-performance analysis. The IPA method integrates two types of indirect importance and a composite I-P mapping using traditional four-quadrants, as well as a diagonal line on a two-dimensional grid. Based on the analysis results, this study presents several suggestions to contribute to the development of the trade show industry. First, it is noted that the dimensionality of trade show performance in a developing country context can be different from that of prior literature. Taking different industry development stages of a show hosting countries, examining the dimensions of each trade show performance with every effort to derive proper exhibitors' implications is necessary. Second, the use of statically-derived importance is recommended while considering respondents' convenience to reduce their time and fatigue when collecting data at the busy booths. Further, applying composite I-P mapping is suggested as an effective diagnostic tool to provide optimal trade show strategies for the exhibitors under the dynamic and ever-changing global business environment.

수정된 IPA는 전통적 IPA와 비교시 실제 방문객 만족도가 반영된 관리전략을 수립하는데 있어 효과적인 방법이다. 그러나 전통적 IPA와 수정된 IPA의 비교연구는 제한적이다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 순천만 습지 내 효과적인 관리전략을 구축하기 위해 전통적 IPA와 수정된 IPA를 비교분석하였다. 첫째, 수정된 IPA를 선정하기 위해 선행연구를 고찰하였고, 공간 내 방문객의 실제 만족도에 영향을 받는 관리전략과 서비스 질을 정량화 할 수 있는 적절한 방법으로 Deng(2007) 방법론을 선정하였다. 둘째, 순천만 습지 내 전통적 IPA와 수정된 IPA를 적용한 결과를 비교분석하였다. 셋째, 수정된 IPA의 관리전략과 변화된 관리요소에 관해 논의하였다. 그 결과, 전통적 IPA 결과보다 관리요구도가 더 높게 도출된 관리요소로 혼잡도가 나타났고, 관리요구도가 더 낮게 도출된 관리요소 중 집중관리에서 저우선순위로 관리전략이 변화하는 관리요소의 경우, 그늘목, 전시시설 내부, 프로그램, 가이드투어가 분석됐으며, 현 상태 유지에서 과잉노력지양으로 분석된 관리요소의 경우, 휴게시설, 낙조, 생울타리, 전시시설 외부로 도출되었다. 이는 현재 순천만 습지 내 관리전략과 비교시 전통적 IPA 결과값보다 수정된 IPA의 결과값에 더 부합된 결과로 실제 방문객들의 만족변화에 대해 탄력적인 반응을 보이는 것으로 분석되어졌다. 이를 통해 의사결정자들의 관리전략 구축시 수정된 IPA가 더 정확하고 신뢰성 높은 기초자료로 제공될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The facts of job satisfaction and their perceived importance among elementary school foodservice dietitians were assessed. The survey instrument consisted of three parts: the job satisfaction survey was used to measure facets of job satisfaction and the level of total satisfaction; perceived importance questions for corresponding job facets; and demographic items. A survey of school food service operations was undertaken and detailed information was collected from 170 dietitians. The collected data were processed using the SPSS package program for descriptive analysis and analysis of valiance. School foodservice dietitians' importance and satisfactions scores on their job and working environment were 4.25 and 2.83, respectively. The respondents rated the subscales of 'communication' and 'nature of work' the highest and the subscales of 'pay' and 'working environment' the lowest The results of facet satisfaction scores and corresponding perceived importance scores were paired to be plotted on the Importance-Performance Analysis Grid. IPA grid was used to provide a strategy for food service managers to counteract dietitian dissatisfaction.

본 연구는 피부미용샵의 양적 확대와 병행하여 고객의 기대와 요구에 부응하는 질적 수준을 함께 향상시켜야 할 필요성이 절실한 현 시점에서 고객이 어떤 요인에 근거하여 피부미용샵을 선택하고, 어떤 속성을 고려하는지 중요도-만족도 분석을 통해 고객이 요구하는 중요 요인을 도출하고자 하였다. 연구의 대상은 피부미용샵 서비스를 이용해본 경험이 있는 광주·전남지역의 20대 이상인 217명을 대상으로 실시하였고, 수집된 자료의 통계처리는 SPSS v. 21.0 통계 패키지 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였으며 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 피부미용샵 선택 요인에 대한 중요도-만족도 차이를 토대로 피부미용샵 선택 요인의 항목별로 각 하위요인에 대한 중요도가 어느 정도이고, 이에 부응한 만족도는 어느 정도 되는지 그 현상을 파악하고자 IPA 격자도 분석을 실시한 결과는 유지강화의 1사분면에 해당하는 항목은 '도구 및 제품의 위생관리'로 분석되었으며, 지속유지의 2사분면에 해당하는 항목은 '기본현황(법적 준수사항)'으로 분석되었고, 점진개선의 3사분면에 해당하는 항목은 '종사자의 위생관리'와 '피부미용샵 내부 위생관리', '종사자의 전문성과 기술)', '서비스의 질'로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 활용함으로써 피부미용샵의 효율적 운영에 근거를 삼고자 하며 더 나아가서는 피부미용 산업의 양적·질적 저변 확대를 기대해본다.
