  • IPv6 is the internet protocol for next generation which can solve the problem of IPv4 protocol. Mobile IPv6 efficiently provides the mobility for mobile devices holding the properties of IPv6. iSCSI(Internet Small Computer System Interface) is a block-oriented storage access protocol that enables a user to recognize a remote storage as their own local block device through general TCP/IP networks. Since iSCSI uses a standard Ethernet switch and router for this kind of access, it can not only be applized to Ethernet technologies, but can also be used to create a storage networking system without any distance restrictions that can equally be applied to a wireless network environment. Accordingly, this paper presents an alternative approach to overcome the limited storage space of mobile devices based on the IPv6 iSCSI initiator driver which was originally designed for wired networks. Also, this paper describes about the implementation and performance analysis of mobile education service system using virtual storage devices in IPv6 wireless networks.

  • Since multicast in the mobile environments is based on packet transmission and independent addressing, this paper propose an improved scheme about how to manage the multicasting group and to set the communication path in the mobile environment by applying two-level addressing mode, which is similar to mobile IP, for location-independent address setting. And we propose the smooth handoff scheme that minimizes the handoff delay for mobile multimedia services. Performance analysis by the modified NS-2 network simulator has showed that the proposed scheme is better than other techniques in terms of handoff delay and transmitted packets' throughput.

  • Ubiquitous home refers not only to home but also to logical space, including a wide range of out-home personal devices such as mobile phones, PDAs, laptops, car navigators, and office PCs. There are certain connection barriers among the devices, such as the dynamic IP address, NAT. In a home network, various devices coexist in heterogeneous networks, such as IP, IEEE1394, PLC, Bluetooth, ZigBee, UWB, and IrDA, all of which lack interoperability due to their different physical transmission characteristics and protocols. In ubiquitous home where an unrestricted collaboration of the devices is essential to offer services that meet the users' requirements, free interoperability among the devices must be guaranteed. This paper proposes a networking model for interoperability of the heterogeneous devices in a ubiquitous home based on a virtual overlay network which hides the complicated physical network configurations and heterogeneity of the service protocols.

  • This paper introduces an approach for providing Location Based Services (LBS) using Spatial Location (SLO) information within the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). The aim of the paper is to set up the framework for providing LBS services in devices connected to wire and wireless IP networks. This method uses SIP as transport and the SLO as data formal inserted in the SIP pay-load. It analyses the relationship among the network elements involved in the architecture, and its functionality fur providing access to network services regardless of the user location. In conclusion, this proposal enables SIP to support location-related services such as messaging, location-based commerce, and any location-based computing. Furthermore, it describes the advantage of adding the user location information network resources optimization in mobile environments and future networks.

  • Proxy Mobile IPv6(PMIPv6) is a network-based mobility management protocol and it does not require mobile node's involving in mobility management. In PMIPv6, the Mobile Access Gateway (MAG) incurs a high signaling cost to update the location of a mobile node to the remote Local Mobility Anchor (LMA) if it moves frequently. It may cause excessive signaling traffic and increase a high traffic load on LMA. Therefore, we propose a new mobility management scheme in proxy mobile IPv6 networks with dynamic paging support. To minimize signaling overhead, in our proposal, the size of the paging area is determined dynamically according the changes of mobility and traffic patterns of the mobile node. An analytic model is applied to determine the optimal size of the paging area. The cost analysis using fluid flow model presented in this paper shows that our proposal can achieve performance superior that of PMIPv6 scheme.

  • As the smartphone and mobile environment develop, the time and space constraints for individual work performance are disappearing. Companies can reduce costs and expand their business quickly through cloud computing. As the use of various cloud expands, the boundaries of users, data, and applications are disappearing. Traditional security approaches based on boundaries (Perimeter) are losing their utility in the cloud environment. This paper describes the limitations of existing network access control (NAC) in a cloud environment and suggests network security technology that complements it. The study explains the SDP and combines SDP(Software Defined Perimeter) to overcome the limitations of NAC, while at the same time explaining its role as a new framework for supporting the cloud environment. The new framework proposed in this paper suggests a software-based network security solution that supports physical and software parts, providing identity-based access control, encrypted segment management, and dynamic policy management, not IP-based.

  • Mobile IP (MIP) is the solution supporting the mobility of Mobile Nodes (MNs), however, it is known to lack the support for NEtwork MObility (NEMO). NEMO manages situations when an entire network, composed of one or more subnets, dynamically changes its point of attachment to the Internet. NEMO Basic Support (NBS) protocol ensures session continuity for all the nodes in a mobile network, however, there exists a serious pinball routing problem. To overcome this weakness, there are many Route Optimization (RO) solutions such as Bi-directional Tunneling (BT) mechanism, Aggregation and Surrogate (A&S) mechanism, Recursive Approach, etc. The A&S RO mechanism is known to outperform the other RO mechanisms, except for the Binding Update (BU) cost. Although Improved Prefix Delegation (IPD) reduces the cost problem of Prefix Delegation (PD), a well-known A&S protocol, the BU cost problem still presents, especially when a large number of Mobile Routers (MRs) and MNs exist in the environment such as train, bus, ship, or aircraft. In this paper, a solution to reduce the cost of delivering the BU messages is proposed using a multicast mechanism instead of unicasting such as the traditional BU of the RO. The performance of the proposed multicast-based BU scheme is examined with an analytical model which shows that the BU cost enhancement is up to 32.9% over IPDbased, hence, it is feasible to predict that the proposed scheme could benefit in other NEMO RO protocols.

  • As a mobility support for IP have studied, Internet Engineering Task Force(IETF) standardized the Mobile IPv6(MIPv6) protocol. When a mobile node moves between subnets, MIPv6 maintains connectivity to network and supports seamless communication, and these processes are called a Handover. Whenever the mobile node moves between subnets, the Handover is performed. The mobile node can not communicate during the Handover. This period is Galled Handover latency. To reduce this latency, mipshop working group standardizes Fast Handovers for Mobile IPv6(FMIPv6), but latency which the mobile node registers its new care-of address to a home agent and a correspondent node is still long. To solve this problem, we propose a scheme that the mobile node registers the new care-of address to the home agent and initiates Return Routability procedure in advance during layer 2 handover, based on FMIPv6 and IEEE 802.11. We analyze MIPv6, FMIPv6 and the proposed scheme in term of packet transmission cost during the Handover. Compared to MIPv6 the proposed scheme gains 79% improvement, while it gains 31% improvement compared to FMIPv6.
