Design of Small-Area MTP Memory Based on a BCD Process (BCD 공정 기반 저면적 MTP 설계)

  • PMIC chips based on a BCD process used in automotive semiconductors require multi-time programmable (MTP) intellectual property (IP) that does not require additional masks to trim analog circuits. In this paper, MTP cell size was reduced by about 18.4% by using MTP cells using PMOS capacitors (PCAPs) instead of NMOS capacitors (NCAPs) in MTP cells, which are single poly EEPROM cells with two transistors and one MOS capacitor for small-area MTP IP design. In addition, from the perspective of MTP IP circuit design, the two-stage voltage shifter circuit is applied to the CG drive circuit and TG drive circuit of MTP IP design, and in order to reduce the area of the DC-DC converter circuit, the VPP (=7.75V), VNN (=-7.75V) and VNNL (=-2.5V) charge pump circuits using the charge pumping method are placed separately for each charge pump.

  • 현재 인터넷은 매우 빠른 속도로 커가고 있으며 기존의 인터넷 하부구조(infrastructure), 특히 라우터에 커다란 부담이 되고 있다. IP 주소 검색은 라우터에 들어오는 패킷의 출력 링크를 위해 전송 테이블에서 가장 길게 일치하는 프리픽스를 찾는 것이다. 이러한 작업은 매우 복잡하고 고속의 라우터에 커다란 병목이 되고 있으며 이를 해소하기 위해서는 하드웨어기반의 빠른 IP 주소 검색 기법이 필요하다. 본 논문은 유니 캐스트 상에서 전송 테이블의 크기와 검색 시간을 줄이고 점차적인 갱신이 가능한 하드웨어기반의 알고리즘을 제시하고 다른 하드웨어 기반의 알고리즘과 성능을 비교한다. 제시한 알고리즘은 작은 크기의 SRAM과 단순한 로직의 하드웨어로 구현되기 때문에 값이 싸고 파이프라인으로의 구성이 가능하기 때문에 빠른 IP 주소 검색이 가능하다. 10ns의 SRAM으로 구현할 경우, 초당 100$\times$106의 검색이 가능하고 이는 지금까지 제안된 알고리즘보다 빠른 검색을 제공할 수 있다.

  • As society proceeds rapidly toward a knowledge-oriented stage, knowledge as an intangible asset has gained increasing importance. Companies increase their competitiveness and generate extra value through continuous investments in the management of intellectual property (IP). Thus, the prime concerns of companies have been protection of their technological innovation output through filing for IP rights, and maximization of their interests through utilization of intangible assets. Despite the importance of technological innovation in the management of a company, few studies have analyzed the key factors in the management of IP and activities for technological innovation. This study aims to derive policy implications for managing IP and effective capacity building for technological innovation. For this purpose, the author has employed empirical tests to identify the major factors influencing the direction of technological innovations in a company.

  • VoIP는 인터넷을 통한 음성 전화를 제공하는 기술이다. 유선의 PSTN과 인터넷간에 VoIP 기술을 적용하여 음성 전화를 제공한 데 이어, 이동통신 네트워크에서도 VoIP 기술에 의한 음성 서비스를 제공할 예정이다. 본 고에서는 유선 및 무선 통합 네트워크에서 VoIP 기술을 수용하기 위한 공통 논리 기능을 정의하고, 각 공통 논리 기능에 대한 IETF, ITU-T, 3GPP, 3GPP2 표준 규격의 기능 관계를 분석하여 유선, 무선, 인터넷의 통합 네트워크 구조를 제시하였다. 본 고에서 제시한 유선, 무선, 인터넷의 공통 논리 기능 구조는 유무선 네트워크를 통합할 수 있는 원천 기술 개발의 개념 구조로 사용할 수 있다.

  • The Interaction Picture (IP) method is a valuable alternative to Split-step methods for solving certain types of partial differential equations such as the nonlinear Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger equation or the Gross-Pitaevskii equation. Although very similar to the Symmetric Split-step (SS) method in its inner computational structure, the IP method results from a change of unknown and therefore do not involve approximation such as the one resulting from the use of a splitting formula. In its standard form the IP method such as the SS method is used in conjunction with the classical 4th order Runge-Kutta (RK) scheme. However it appears to be relevant to look for RK scheme of higher order so as to improve the accuracy of the IP method. In this paper we investigate 5th order Embedded Runge-Kutta schemes suited to be used in conjunction with the IP method and designed to deliver a local error estimation for adaptive step size control.

Pharmacognostical Studies on the 'O Ga Pi Ip' (오가피잎의 생약학적 연구)

  • 'O Ga Pi Ip' has been used in Korea to cure rheumatism, neuralgia, edema, dematopathy, and impotence. The botanical origin of the crude drug has not been confirmed pharmacognostically. To clarify the botanical origin of 'O Ga Pi Ip', the morphological and anatomical characteristics of the leaves of Acanthopanax species growing in Korea and Japan, A. chi-isanensis Nakai, A. Koreanum Nakai, A. rufinerve Nakai, A. senticosus (Rupr.et Maxim). Harms, A senticosus (Rupr.et Maxim.) for inermis Harms, A. seoulense Nakai, A sessiliflorus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Seem, A. divaricatus Seem, A. sieboldianum Makino were compared. As a result, it was determined that 'O Ga Pi Ip' was the leaf of A. sessiliflorus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Seem, A chiisanensis Nakai, and A. koreanum $Nakai_I$.

A Study of the delay pattern of voice traffic for end-to-end users on the voice IP (VoIP 상에서 다양한 응용 서비스 트래픽에 따른 종단간 사용자의 음성 트래픽 지연 변화 연구)

  • In this paper we study the delay patterns of voice traffic for end-to-end users Caused by serving the whole bunch of applications traffic at the same time on the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network. Given the current situation that voice traffic is served along with other application services on the VoIP network, it is quite necessary to figure out how and by what the voice traffic requiring high QoS is delayed. We compare the delay performance of voice traffic on the VoIP network under FIFO with the one under Weighted Fair Queuing(WFQ), and discover the differences of the delay performance resulting from the use of different voice codec algorithms. The results of our study show that using the voice codec algorithm with a higher coding rate nd the queuing algorithm of WEQ can provide users with high-quality voice traffic.

  • 정보통신의 발달로 인하여 사물간의 필요한 모든 정보를 상호작용하는 IoT(Internet of Thing)환경이 발전하고 있다. 홈 IoT환경에서는 스마트폰 어플리케이션을 통하여 집안 내부를 살펴보고 외부 침입자가 들어오면 이를 감지, 신고할 수 있는 IP Camera의 수요가 증가되고 있다. 그러나 IP Camera의 해킹 사례가 증가 하고 있고 취약한 인증, 잠재적인 공격 가능성 등 보안문제가 발견되었다. 이에 본 논문에서는 대중적으로 많이 사용되고 있는 IP Camera와 Smart Phone과의 안전한 사용자 인증 프로토콜을 제안하였다.

  • Handoff is one of the most important factors that ma? degrade the performance of TCP connections in wireless data networks. In this paper, we present a lossless and duplication free handoff scheme called LPM (Last Packet Marking) for improving Cellular If semisoft handoff. LPM signals the safe handoff cue by sending a specially marked packet to mobile hosts. SPM (Semisoft rePly Message) is the only newly introduced control packet. Our performance study shows that LPM achieves lossless packet delivery without duplication and increases TCP throughput significantly.

ROSS: Low-Cost Self-Securing VoIP Communication Framework

  • Reliance on the Internet has introduced Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) to various security threats. A reliable security protocol and an authentication scheme are thus required to prevent the aforementioned threats. However, an authentication scheme often demands additional cost and effort. Accordingly, a security framework for known participants in VoIP communication is proposed in this paper. The framework is known as Randomness-Optimized Self-Securing (ROSS), which performs authentication automatically throughout the session by optimizing the uniqueness and randomness of the communication itself. Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) key exchange and Salsa20 stream cipher are utilized in the framework correspondingly to secure the key agreement and the communication with low computational cost. Human intelligence supports ROSS authentication process to ensure participant authenticity and communication regularity. The results show that with marginal overhead, the proposed framework is able to secure VoIP communication by performing reliable authentication.
