  • As a lexical meaning, casino is defined as "a certified gambling house, equipped with recreational facilities such as dance and music, etc., where people play roulette or cards." Casinos started from 17th to 18th century for European nobility and their social meetings and established a casino industry framework in the United States in the 1930s. The success of the casino business leads to the increase of sales; it became very helpful for the local and national government revenues and also for the related incidental tasks. Casino operations include a variety of fields, such as general customer management, dealer game management, security, account management, currency exchange, re-exchange management, marketing management, comp management and placement management, etc. These operations should be organically connected to each other by information systems such as a groupware, ERP and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), etc. In addition, in order to effectively manage comprehensive entertainment service, including accommodation and tourism, it is necessary to develop an information system which supports casino business and collateral entertainment service, collects the data generated throughout the business and provides information about the situations of management. Thus, this study will propose a casino information system designed and implemented, considering these details.

  • With a prospective of rapid deployment of IOT, a systematic approach to derive a business strategy for various possible scenarios of IOT applications is in great demand. In this paper, a conceptual framework that can be utilized for the purpose of assessing the market potential and of setting up an initial business strategy for IOT deployment is suggested. The framework consists of utilization of well-known value curve analysis, ecosystem analysis and house of quality tools. The value curve analysis is utilized to identify value-enhancing components of consumers as well as relative strengths of suppliers. The ecosystem analysis is used to identify relevant players of the supply chain and their mutual relationships. The house of quality is suitable for developing the initial business strategy of the supplier by converting consumer requirements identified by value curve analysis into technical requirements for the supplier. In this paper, we applied our proposed framework to two services that have high potentiality of being benefited by IOT: car-sharing service and telehealth service.

  • In the Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS), the function of classification is very important, and detection performance depends on various features. Recently, a lot of research has been carried out on deep learning, but network intrusion detection system experience slowing down problems due to the large volume of traffic and a high dimensional features. Therefore, we do not use deep learning as a classification, but as a preprocessing process for feature extraction and propose a research method from which classifications can be made based on extracted features. A stacked AutoEncoder, which is a representative unsupervised learning of deep learning, is used to extract features and classifications using the Random Forest classification algorithm. Using the data collected in the IOT environment, the performance was more than 99% when normal and attack traffic are classified into multiclass, and the performance and detection rate were superior even when compared with other models such as AE-RF and Single-RF.

  • COMS In-Orbit Tests(IOT), performed from July, 2010 to Jan, 2011, were successfully completed and the scientific data from MI and GOCI has been distributed officially from April, 2011. This paper focuses on the geometric calibration system tests conducted during the IOT. The geometric calibration process, which is one of the primary objectives of the IOT is the final step of COMS data pre-processing. The basic principles of the geometric calibration (or image navigation and registration, INR) algorithm for COMS are described and the functional and performance tests of COMS INR system were summarized according to the COMS IOT phases. Final performance testes were carried out using data sets acquired from the real-time COMS data pre-processing system. Geometric calibration accuracy of the COMS data showed excellent quality and met requirement specifications.

  • Against the backdrop of low-carbon, green growth, many attention is focused on a sustainable society where humans and nature coexist. Carbon emissions increase with energy consumption, which is 40 percent of the world's energy consumption by buildings. Korea has a plan to make zero-energy houses mandatory only for new buildings in 2025, but it is relying on private technology investment for its technology. The reality is that the current technology costs more than 1.5 times more than general buildings, and private companies do not have many zero-energy house complexes other than experimental houses. This study aims to study the new model of zero energy house by introducing IOT system that efficiently observes and controls energy in zero energy house, monitoring pleasant environment on the web and introducing resident proper temperature maintenance system.

  • In this paper, we propose the construction of an IOT that monitors foresters' physical abnormalities in real time, performs emergency measures, and provides alarms for natural disasters or heatstroke such as a nearby forest fire or landslide. Nodes provided to foresters include 6-axis sensors, temperature sensors, GPS, and LoRa, and transmit the measured data to the network server through the gateway using LoRa communication. The network server uses 6-axis sensor data to determine whether or not a forester has any signs of abnormal body, and performs emergency measures by tracking GPS location. After analyzing the temperature data, it provides an alarm when there is a possibility of heat stroke or when a forest fire or landslide occurs in the vicinity. In this paper, it was confirmed that the real-time detection of physical abnormalities of foresters and the establishment of disaster early warning IOT is possible by analyzing the data obtained by constructing a node and a gateway and constructing a network server.

  • Menopause increases the onset of hypertension and heart disease. Whereas it increases the blood LDL-cholesterol, triglyceride and total-cholesterol levels, the HDL-cholesterol concentration is reduced. Accordingly, we examined the effect of internal organs of Todarodes pacificus (IOT) on improvement in blood flow ability and changes in serum lipid content by using ovariectomized rats. For this study, the following four groups of 9-week-old Sprague-Dawley strain female rats were evaluated over 6 weeks: normal rats (SHAM), ovariectomized rats (CON) and ovariectomized rats that were treated with IOT extracts. Ovary removal promoted platelet aggregability. However, IOT administration in the CON group after ovary excision resulted in a hinderance of coherence. The blood vessel passing time of ovariectomized rats was slower than the SHAM group. But the blood flow ability, which was slowed down for ovary removal, was improved by IOT administration. Serum triglyceride levels were significantly reduced by IOT administration. Moreover, blood HDL-cholesterol levels were reduced by ovary removal. However, IOT administration after ovary excision significantly increase HDL-cholesterol levels. The biological activity of IOT could be confirmed from these results. Moreover, IOT can be used in the development of functional foods which are meant to improve blood circulation and anti-platelet aggregation function. According to these results, we could know that IOT improved blood flow and anti-platelet aggregation. Therefore, it is expected that IOT can be used for the development of functional foods.
