  • Interest in use of ink-jet printing for pattern-on-demand fabrication of metal interconnects without complicated and wasteful etching process has been on rapid increase. However, ink-jet printing is a wet process and needs an additional thermal treatment such as an annealing process. Since a metal ink is a suspension containing metal nanoparticles and organic capping molecules to prevent aggregation of them, the microstructure of an ink-jet printed metal interconnect 'as dried' can be characterized as a stack of loosely packed nanoparticles. Therefore, during being treated thermally, an inkjet-printed interconnect is likely to evolve a characteristic microstructure, different from that of the conventionally vacuum-deposited metal films. Microstructure characteristics can significantly affect the corresponding electrical and mechanical properties. The characteristics of change in microstructure and electrical resistivity of inkjet-printed silver (Ag) films when annealed isothermally at a temperature between 170 and $240^{\circ}C$ were analyzed. The change in electrical resistivity was described using the first-order exponential decay kinetics. The corresponding activation energy of 0.44 eV was explained in terms of a thermally-activated mechanism, i.e., migration of point defects such as vacancy-oxygen pairs, rather than microstructure evolution such as grain growth or change in porosity.

  • Rubber rollers in off-set printing process are one of the most important factor, transferring the ink and water to the plate. Each different roughness of roller surface and different rubber compounds could effect to ink transparency and printability. Three different rubber compounds (NBR, EPDM, PU) and each different roughness of roller surface would show us different result of ink transparency and density of actual printing result. There might be a differences from actual printing result not only the amount of transferred ink, but there is also some other point we should check it out. According to the result of this studies, we found that different rubber compounds and their surface roughness directly effect to the rate of ink transfer. It also shows that the amount of transferred ink is not even and stable amount what we expect to get optimum printability. To reach a targeted printability with rollers, firstly it is necessary to choose correct rubber compounds with certain purpose and the roughness of roller surface has to be as smooth as less than $5{\mu}m{\sim}7{\mu}m$.

  • Purpose: To determine the MR parameters affecting India ink artifacts on opposed-phase chemical shift magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. Materials and Methods: The use of a female Sprague-Dawley rat was approved by our Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Using an iterative decomposition of water and fat with echo asymmetry and least-squares estimation (IDEAL) images, which is a modified Dixon method, axial opposed-phase images of the abdominal cavity were obtained with different MR parameters: series 1, different repetition times (TRs; 400, 2000, and 4000 ms); series 2, different echo times (TEs; 10, 50, and 100 ms); series 3, different field of views (FOVs; 6, 8, 16, and 24 cm); series 4, different echo train lengths (ETLs; 2, 4, and 8); series 5, different bandwidths (25, 50, and 85); and series 6, different slice thicknesses (1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 mm). Artifacts on opposed images obtained with different parameters were compared subjectively by two radiologists. For objective analysis, the thickness of the artifact was measured. Spearman's correlation between altered MR parameters and thicknesses of India ink artifact was obtained via objective analysis. Results: India ink artifact was increasingly apparent using shorter TE, larger FOV and ETL, and thicker slices upon subjective analysis. The objective analysis revealed a strong negative correlation between the thickness of the artifact and TE (r = -0.870, P < 0.01); however, strong positive correlations were found between FOV (r = 0.854, P < 0.01) and slice thickness (r = 0.971, P < 0.01). Conclusion: India ink artifact was thicker with shorter TE, larger FOV, and larger slice thickness.

  • Low-emissivity (low-e) coatings with visible transparency have attracted increased interest m reducing heat radiation loss through window panes from ecological and sustainable aspects. $TiO_2$-silver transparent thin films for low-e have good properties for UV and IR blocking as well as photocatalyst compared to that with commercial UV blocking films such as fluorine doped oxide (FTO), antimony doped tin oxide (ATO), etc. In this study, transparent $TiO_2$-silver thin films were prepared by successive ink-jet printing of commercial nano silver and $TiO_2$ sol. The $TiO_2$ sol, as ink for ink-jet printing, were synthesized by hydrothermal process in the autoclave externally pressurized with $N_2$ gas of 200 bar at $120^{\circ}C$ for 10 hrs. The synthesized $TiO_2$ sols were all formed with brookite phase and their particle size was several to 30 nm. At first nano sized silver sol was coated on glass substrate, after that $TiO_2$ sol was coated by ink-jet printing. With increasing coating thickness of $TiO_2$-silver multilayer by repeated ink-jet coating, the absorbance of UV region (under 400nm) and IR region (over 700nm) also increase reasonably, compared to that with commercial UV blocking films.

  • For the semiconductor device safety from over current in the digital electronic circuit system must be surely designed that it's surface mount type micro fuse device. In this paper, We has analysed to the fusing character of micro fuse as a function changed thickness of thermosetting ink epoxy. To the change of thermosetting ink epoxy thickness with in production lot, in the electrically character (fusing test in the 2 multiple over current and 10 multiple over current, surface temperature test in the 1.25 multiple over current) of micro fuse has been tested. According to the electrically character result, changed thickness of thermosetting ink epoxy in designed micro fuse withheld direct effect in both end resistance changes. Also, because high thermal energy in the micro fuse test of over current was occurred to effect such as thermal runaway and explosion. Therefore, screen printing process in the design of micro fuse using thermosetting ink epoxy is very important for production quality improvement.

  • This paper examines the ink on paper technique that is being used in the animation works by the Canadian filmmaker Michēle Cournoyner from the National Film Board of Canada. It also discusses how in her animated film "Soif"(2013) this technique has been applied to compose the narrative significance and symbols through the use of metamorphosis as a form of artistic expression. Cournoyner had used the ink of paper technique as a means to abandon realistic representations of movement, and in "Soif" through expressive use of metamorphosis, portrayed changes of images in character and object not through chronological order of narrative flow, but through the body of the female character, which had been represented by the improvisation of the ink on paper technique in order to express the surrealistic and unconscious state of mind in animation. Also, the use of Surrealist automatism had been incorporated to evoke the film towards a form of abstract and metaphysical expression, which in terms of expression and technique connects with the character in the animation to give emphasis to its relevancy with the subject matter of the work.

  • Ceramic tiles, which were manufactured through high-temperature firing process at over $1000^{\circ}C$, are widely used as interior and exterior materials for building construction due to their excellent durability and aesthetic of surface glaze. In recent years, the introduction of digital ink-jet printing in ceramic tiles for architectural use has been rapidly proceeding, and studies on the materials such as ceramic ink, ceramic pigment, glaze have been actively conducted. In this study, the effect of microstructure change of surface glaze on the printing properties of ceramic inks was investigated by micronization of kaolin, which is the raw material of surface glaze. Black ceramic ink was used for ink-jet printing on the surface glaze of ceramic tile to evaluate the printability by measuring the size and roundness of the printed ink dot. The relationship between microstructure change of surface glaze and printability of ceramic ink was also investigated by analyzing the surface roughness and internal micropore distribution of surface glaze.

  • The color image of the brand comes first and is an important visual element that leads consumers to the consumption of the product. To express more effectively what the brand wants to convey through design, the printing market is striving to print accurate colors that match the intention. In 'offset printing' mainly used in printing, colors are often printed in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key) colors. However, it is possible to print more accurate colors by making ink of the desired color instead of dotting CMYK colors. The resulting ink is called 'spot color' ink. Spot color ink is manufactured by repeating the process of mixing the existing inks. In this repetition of trial and error, the manufacturing cost of ink increases, resulting in economic loss, and environmental pollution is caused by wasted inks. In this study, a deep learning algorithm to predict printed spot colors was designed to solve this problem. The algorithm uses a single DNN (Deep Neural Network) model to predict printed spot colors based on the information of the paper and the proportions of inks to mix. More than 8,000 spot color ink data were used for learning, and all color was quantified by dividing the visible light wavelength range into 31 sections and the reflectance for each section. The proposed algorithm predicted more than 80% of spot color inks as very similar colors. The average value of the calculated difference between the actual color and the predicted color through 'Delta E' provided by CIE is 5.29. It is known that when Delta E is less than 10, it is difficult to distinguish the difference in printed color with the naked eye. The algorithm of this study has a more accurate prediction ability than previous studies, and it can be added flexibly even when new inks are added. This can be usefully used in real industrial sites, and it will reduce the attempts of the operator by checking the color of ink in a virtual environment. This will reduce the manufacturing cost of spot color inks and lead to improved working conditions for workers. In addition, it is expected to contribute to solving the environmental pollution problem by reducing unnecessarily wasted ink.
