  • This paper presents the coding method that have multi-mode and efficiency of audio codecs using the feature of audio signal. Recently, the developed extension super-wideband codec based on G.718 wideband divides two mode between Generic and Sinusiodal. So codec efficently encode audio signal exist in super-wideband. But the codec is not as efficent coding for harmonic component of wind instrument and string instrument and individual-Line component of percussion instrument. The proposed method are modeling and encoding multiple pitch and individual-line feature using multi mode coding. For the performance evaluation, we used SNR in MDCT domain for objective test and MUSHRA test for subjective test. As a result, the performance of SNR and MUSHRA test of the proposed method have better performance than the G.718 super-wideband codec.

  • Background: The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) has recently published report series on the occupational intakes of radionuclides (OIR) for internal dosimetry of radiation workers. In this study, the optimized monitoring program including the monitoring interval and the minimum detectable activity (MDA) of major radionuclides was suggested to perform the routine individual monitoring of internal exposure based on the ICRP OIR. Materials and Methods: The derived recording levels and the critical monitoring quantities were reviewed from international standards or guidelines by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the European Radiation Dosimetry Group (EURADOS). The OIR data viewer provided by ICRP was used to evaluate the monitoring intervals and the MDA, which are derived from the reference bioassay functions and the dose coefficients. Results and Discussion: The optimal monitoring intervals were determined taking account of two requirement conditions on the potential intake underestimation and the MDA values. The MDA requirement values of the selected radionuclides were calculated based on the committed effective dose from 0.1 mSv to 5 mSv. The optimized routine individual monitoring program was suggested including the optimal monitoring intervals and the MDA requirements. The optimal MDA values were evaluated based on the committed effective dose of 0.1 mSv. However, the MDA can be adjusted considering the practical operation of the routine individual monitoring program in the nuclear facilities. Conclusion: The monitoring intervals and the MDA as crucial factors for the routine monitoring were described to suggest the optimized routine individual monitoring program of the occupational intakes. Further study on the alpha/beta-emitting radionuclides as well as short lived gamma-emitting nuclides will be necessary in the future.

  • Introduction: Dyslipidaemia is directly associated with cardiovascular diseases. Temperament, the unique constitutional make-up of an individual, is responsible for one's personality traits, physical appearances, and disease predispositions. The rising prevalence of dyslipidaemia becomes a challenge to control morbidity and mortality due to cardiovascular diseases. Objective: To study clinical patterns and risk factors of dyslipidaemia and its association with temperament at the individual level was the main objective of this study. Materials and Methods: It was a descriptive and analytical cross sectional study. The participants (n=88) were screened on the basis of raised serum lipid profile from the outpatient department of National Research Institute of Unani Medicine for Skin Disorders, Hyderabad. The data were collected on a case record form designed for this study and analyzed retrospectively. Results: In this study, there were 57% participants (n=50) of phlegmatic temperament in which mean total cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoprotein- cholesterol and high density lipoprotein-cholesterol were 230.92 (±49.48) mg/dl, 182.34 (±110.61) mg/dl, 153.24 (±50.21) mg/dl and 46.3 (±10.83) mg/dl respectively. Discussion: This study showed the prevalence of different clinical patterns of dyslipidaemia in the population and the phlegmatic participants were dyslipidaemic in a higher percentage. The prevalence of dyslipidaemia in phlegmatic participants may be linked to the constitutional make-up of the individual. The temperament of an individual may be considered as one of the risk factors for dyslipidaemia. Conclusion: It was concluded that the temperament of an individual may be used as a screening tool to predict the individual's tendency to develop dyslipidaemia.

  • Background: The objective of this study was to underline that litter size as a key trait of sows needs new parameters to be evaluated and to target an individual optimum. Large individual variation in litter size affects both production and piglet's survival and health negatively. Therefore, two new traits were suggested and analyzed. Two data sets on 5509 purebred German Landrace sows and 3926 Large White and crossing sows including at least two parental generations and at least five parities were subjected to variance components analysis. Results: The new traits for evaluating litter size were derived from the individual numbers of total born piglets (TBP) per parity: In most cases, sows reach their maximum litter size in their fourth parity. Therefore, data from at least five parities were included. The first observable maximum and minimum of TBP, and the individual variation expressed by the range were targeted. Maximum of TBP being an observable trait in pig breeding and management yielded clearly higher heritability estimates ($h^2{\sim}0.3$) than those estimates predominantly reported so far. Maximum TBP gets closer to the genetic capacity for litter size than other litter traits. Minimum of TBP is positively correlated with the range of TBP ($r_p=0.48$, $r_g$ > 0.6). The correlation between maximum of TBP and its individually reached frequency was negative in both data sets ($r_p=-0.28$ and - 0.22, respectively). Estimated heritability coefficients for the range of TBP comprised a span of $h^2=0.06$ to 0.10. Conclusion: An optimum both for maximum and range of total born piglets in selecting sows is a way contributing to homogenous litters in order to improving the animal-related conditions both for piglets' welfare and economic management in pig.

  • Experiments designed to measure the effect of LED (light-emitting diode) light wavelength on the growth of fingerling rockfishes (Sebastes inermis) were conducted. Fingerling rockfishes (average body weight of individual: 1.13g) were divided into two groups by wavelength of the LED light [light power: 1,620 mW; wavelength: 518 nm (green color), 622 nm (red color)]. Triplicate groups of 180 individuals were reared over 7 weeks. Lighting duration was 14 hours from 06:00 to 20:00. A water tank exposed on the natural light in a room through the windows was used as a control. At results of the first experiment [initial average body weight (BW) of individual: 1.13 g; standard deviation (SD): 0.13 g], the final individual BW exposed on the green color was increased 0.39 g than the red color, and decreased 0.12 g than the natural light in the room. At results of the second (initial individual BW: 5.07 g; SD: 0.70 g) and the third experiment (initial individual BW: 10.67 g; SD: 0.67 g), the final individual BW exposed on the green color was increased 1.07 g and 2.55 g than the red color, respectively, and increased 0.57 g and 0.84 g than the natural light, respectively. The relative growth rate of the green color was higher about 8% significantly (p<0.05) than the natural light. In the case of the red color the relative growth rate was lower significantly (p<0.05) than the natural light.

  • Safety education, which aims to cultivate an understanding of safety, to help acquire safety skills, and to improve attitude toward safety, is an important safety measure that doesn't entail restrictions to be carried out efficiently. Furthermore, safety education is perceived to be the most preferred measure in reducing the occurrence of accident. The current practice of safety education In construction sites, however, is all formal and has no substance. Safety education became a mere boring time to workers since the material is not related to them, and does not reflect the individual personalities, which cannot induce voluntary participation of workers. Thus, it is vital to develop various safety education models suitable for individual personalities of construction workers. This study aims to provide the basic data necessary to establish safety education models according to individual personalities of construction workers. On this, the study seeks to present a model for safety education complying with individual personality of construction workers by a survey using questionnaires and statistical analyses to workers on the construction sites.
