  • This study was conducted to develop a nutritional education program based on the health belief model to improve nutritional status among Vietnamese female marriage immigrants in Korea. The education program was developed through literature review, focus group interviews, expert consultation, and pilot tests. Based on theoretical requirements and needs of beneficiaries, the education program was consisted of 16 sessions with nine topics: 'how to evaluate own dietary habits and nutritional status', 'health problems according to dietary habits and nutritional status', 'understanding six food groups', 'healthy eating plan', 'understanding food cultures of Korea and Vietnam', 'traditional and seasonal Korean foods', 'how to cook Korean food', 'nutrition management of family members', and 'practicing of healthy dietary life'. Program contents in each session consisted of activities that could induce outcome and value expectations, self-efficacy, perceived benefits, and barriers and cues to actions regarding dietary behavior. This nutritional education program based on the health belief model would be helpful to implement healthy diet behaviors in Vietnamese marriage immigrants and their families. Extension of these nutritional education programs to health centers and multicultural family support centers would improve the current poor nutrition status of Vietnamese marriage immigrant women. Further studies are needed to validate our program.

  • Objectives: Medical personnel are professionals subject to stressful situations and psychological distress. This case series reports the results of a mindfulness meditation program combined with digital health for medical personnel at a Korean medicine (KM) hospital. Methods: An online mindfulness program was implemented in 2022 to improve the mental health of nursing staff in a KM clinic. The online mindfulness program, which was supplemented based on previous results and limitations, was applied to KM doctors and nurses working at a KM hospital in this case series. An important difference from the existing case series was the introduction of a smartphone application that promoted the daily routine of meditation. A total of 7 medical personnel, including 4 doctors and 3 nurses, participated in the program. Results: After participating in the program, an increase in deep acting and a decrease in surface acting, which are aspects of emotional labor, were consistent with the results of a previous case series. However, the patterns of change in burnout and hwa-byung symptoms differed depending on the occupation of the participants. Participants' satisfaction with this program and the smartphone application and willingness to recommend it to colleagues were high. Conclusions: As this study was only a small case series, the author plans to continue to expand and improve the program based on the findings.

  • This study investigates the effect of ASI program on the improvement of gifted students' scientific creative problem solving skill and science learning motivation. ASI developed by reflecting the characteristics of scientific inquiry. The study was aimed at Twenty elementary gifted students from C Gifted Education Program participated in the sixteen sessions of ASI curriculum from June 2010 to October 2010. First, we found that the ASP program is effective to improve the gifted students' scientific creative problem solving skill overall. Specifically, the ASI was effective in the sub-catagories of scientific creative problem solving skills such as 'fluency', 'flexibility', 'originality', and 'appropriateness'. However, there was no significant change in the sub-category of 'reliability' and 'elaborateness' Second, we found that the ASP program is effective to improve the gifted students' sscience learning motivation overall. Specifically, the ASI was effective in the sub-catagories of science problem solving skills such as 'intrinsic motivation', 'correlation with personal goal', 'self-determination', and 'fear of evaluation'. However, there was no significant change in the sub-category of 'extrinsic motivation' and 'self-efficacy'. summary, the ASI program was shown to be effective for improving their scientific creative problem solving skill and scientific learning motivation; This study implies that the ASI curriculum would be a effective tool to help gifted students to improve their ascientific creative problem solving skill and their motivation to learn science.

  • The objective of this study is to develop the self-regulation program for senior class students of elementary school to improve willpower. The data on basic need for the self- regulation program was collected using a five-point Likert scale and the participants were 93 students from the fifth-grade and sixth-grade of elementary school. And 32 elementary school teachers participated in this study. The need-survey was conducted for the contents analyses and process elements of this program. Eight experts accomplished program structure and contents design performed by 2 tests on validity. This program consisted of making the student complete one target-behavior that caused him into developing willpower. Self-monitoring and rewarding are the strategy to develop willpower and the students who executed this program developed good attitudes.

  • This study shows that the self-satisfaction individually is rising and social life is attracted effective and successful in image making field by structuring the facial image improvement program through experimental study in order to improve unbalance of women's face. Experiment is conducted by electing 3 samples for 12 weeks and analyzing the measurement and visual analysis, infrared thermography, and evaluation of experts in order to check the facial unbalance. Subject 1 had the effect at approximately in 4 weeks with the severely distorted chin line and mouth appendage. The facial outline became softer to turn entire image to be softer and more feminine. Subject 2 had the severe distortion of location and size of eyes and nose. But the skin was getting better at first, followed by eyes getting clearer with the location changed in left and right. Subject 3 had the twisted nose and lower chin, but after two weeks, the eye area and skin were better and the width of left and right chin was similarly changed. On the basis of the above research result, the program to effectively improve the image was structured and presented with the resolution of facial unbalance. Program is consist of the training of breathing method, face washing method, facial muscle exercise.

  • Increasing importance is being attached to the idea of measuring software characteristics. This paper deals with following things. First, a relation of program and flow graph is discussed. It describes a theoretic complexity measure and illustrates how it can be used to manage and control program complexity. Second, cyclomatic complexity measure is discussed. The complexity is independent of physical size and depends only on the decision structure of a program. Third, consider a knot which defines crossing point and provide the ordering of the nodes to make the transition from a two dimensional graph to a one dimensional program. A program modules that can improve FORTRAN IV program text is tested by knot counting and its control complexity is improved.

  • The skill that meets the intellectual and technical requirements in workplace is called hard skill. The counter part of it is 'softskills' which enhances an individual's interactions, job performance and career prospects. It becomes more necessary skill as society changes. In this paper we first show the demand for the softskill improvement education for engineering major students. Then we introduce a 'softskill improvement education' program developed by the "Center for innovative engineering education" in a University. The contents of the program are chosen by the needs of society, companies that hire our students, ABEEK educational objectives and consulting from professors. To improve the skills we used various activities as tools which are mentioned and introduced. The evaluation of the program results are discussed. We suggest some ways to improve the program.

  • The passive type RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) System using Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) tag at 900 MHz in the range of more than 1 m was fabricated. To improve interrogation range of the system propose a method to increase isolation between transmitter and receiver. This method using a direct conversion architecture achieves a leakage rejection of 10 dB increased compared with conventional system. Measured interrogation range is more than 1 m.
