  • This paper deals with direct torque control of an induction motor (IM) with constant switching frequency. The desired torque is obtained from the speed controller which is designed using the IP controller. Decoupling control of torque and flux is developed based on the energy model of IM using the IP controller strategies. The desired d-axis and q-axis stator voltage components are obtained from the designed controller, which decouples torque and flux. The constant switching frequency can be applied using space-vector pulse width modulation, since the desired stator voltage can be known from the decoupling torque and flux controllers. In order to achieve stable operation of the proposed IP controllers, the gains of the controllers are chosen by setting the poles in negative (left) half of s-plane and by choosing the rising time for the response of the step function. The proposed controller was verified in simulations using Matlab/Simulink and results have proven excellent performance. It was found that the proposed IP controllers can provide excellent performance to track the desired torque and speed and to reject the disturbance of load.

  • This paper propose a improved speed control system for five-phase squirrel-cage induction motor(IM) considering effects of 3rd. harmonic current components with field oriented control(FOC) A five-phase IM drives present unique characteristics due to the additional degrees of freedom and also drives possess many others advantage compared with the traditional three-phase motor drive system, such as reducing a amplitude of torque pulsation at low frequency and increasing the reliability. In order to maximize the torque per ampere, the proposed motor has concentrated windings. The produced back-electromotive force is almost trapezoidal, and the motor is supplied with the combined sinusoidal plus third harmonic of currents. There is necessary to controlled 3rd harmonic current. For presenting the superior performance of the proposed the speed control system, experimental results are presented using a 32-bit fixed point TMS320F2812 DSP with 1.5[KW] induction motor.

  • Vector control of a single phase induction machine(SPIM) is usually employed by mechanical methods than electrical ones. The disadvantage of a SPIM has large noise at the starting. Using auxiliary winding which is only utilized for starting, the SPIM can be controlled with the vector control method. Regarding a auxiliary winding one phase, the SPIM is analyzed by the unsymmetrical two phase motor and phase transformation is unnecessary such as three phase IM. Including a auxiliary winding, SPIM is modeled by mathematical getting by component of turns ratio with main to auxiliary winding. It will be take with complicated resultant formula, by comparison to symmetrical three phase TM. For using the vector control theory, it must be decoupled of rotor flux and torque component. stator current is controlled and decoupled. This paper presents a variable-speed control system of SPIM, which to decoupled with flux and torque component and to use machine equivalent circuit referred to rotor, conventionally three phase IM by similar method.

  • Objective : The aim of this study is to verify validity of Long Form Assessment, which is an Interactive Metronome $measure^{(R)}$(LFA-IM), as a measurement of praxis of children. Methods : The study was implemented from March 2015 to July 2015. Twenty-five children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and those without ADHD (age of 6~11) were selected from a local university hospital and community in Gyeoung-Nam province and Busan for this study. In order to examine discriminative validity of LFA-IM, Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, second edition (BOT-2) was used to compare the difference of results with LFA-IM for both children with- and without ADHD. For concurrent validity, correlation between LFA-IM and BOT-2 was investigated using spearman correlation coefficients. Results : For the comparison between children with ADHD and children without ADHD, there were significant differences in the total scores of LFA-IM (p<.05). Regarding the concurrent validity, there was a strong negative correlation between the total scores of LFA-IM and BOT-2 (p<.05). In addition, there was high correlation between LFA-IM and BOT-2 for the area of hand control (rs=-.532), and high negative correlation for the area of fine-motor accuracy (rs=-.447), hand dexterity (rs=-.532), and balance control (rs=-.623) (p<.05). Conclusion : This study identified validities of LFA-IM as an assessment of praxis of children. The results showed that it is appropriate to evaluate praxis of children with the total score of LFA-IM and, thus, it is believed that LFA-IM has a potential clinical utility. However, there should be more researches with large number of subjects.

  • Direct Torque Control method for an Induction Motor is presented which is quite different from field-oriented control. It carries out a precise and quick control of the stator flux and electromagnetic torque of an IM without calling for coordinate transformation, speed measurement, and stator current control. In principle, moreover, DTC operation requires only the knowledge of the stator resistance.

  • The objective of this study is to discuss the role of integrative medicine (IM) in contemporary health care settings, and how and which factors affect and facilitate the success of IM in terms of the integration of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and conventional medicine in primary health care (PHC). IM is meant to provide the best possible health care, for both patient and physician. The way of IM use in the developed countries presents various ways that IM can be provided, and it appears that strategies have been successfully developed to facilitate integration. Although few of the barriers to the integration of CAM and conventional medicine have been resolved, concerns over the legitimacy of CAM in health care (e.g., safety, biomedical evidence, and efficacy) are being overcome by the use of evidence-based practice in IM delivery. There are dominant models of IM that have been developed. The model types signify different levels of equity between CAM and conventional medicine in regard to the power, autonomy, and control held by each. However, the factors common to all IM models, whether describing CAM as supplementary or complementary to conventional medicine, is the concept of a health care model that aspires to be client-centred and holistic, with focus on health rather than disease as well as mutual respect among peer practitioners. Finally, this study concluded that the growth and viability of traditional Korean medicine(TKM) depend on evidence-based practices and identifying the successful influences on the integration of TKM and conventional medicine for recognition of its inherent value in PHC. Some recommendations for the integration of TKM and conventional medicine were suggested.

  • Objective: We hypothesized that Cr source can alter adipogenic-related transcriptional regulations and cell signaling. Therefore, the objective of the study was to evaluate the biological effects of chromium acetate (CrAc) on bovine intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SC) adipose cells. Methods: Bovine preadipocytes isolated from two different adipose tissue depots; IM and SC were used to evaluate the effect of CrAc treatment during differentiation on adipogenic gene expression. Adipocytes were incubated with various doses of CrAc: 0 (differentiation media only, control), 0.1, 1, and 10 μM. Cells were harvested and then analyzed by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction in order to measure the quantity of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase-α (AMPK-α), CCAAT enhancer binding protein-β (C/EBPβ), G protein-coupled receptor 41 (GPR41), GPR43, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPARγ), and stearoyl CoA desaturase (SCD) mRNA relative to ribosomal protein subunit 9 (RPS9). The ratio of phosphorylated-AMPK (pAMPK) to AMPK was determined using a western blot technique in order to determine changing concentration. Results: The high dose (10 μM) of CrAc increased C/EBPβ, in both IM (p = 0.02) and SC (p = 0.02). Expression of PPARγ was upregulated by 10 μM of CrAc in IM but not in SC. Expression of SCD was also increased in both IM and SC with 10 μM of CrAc treatment. Addition of CrAc did not alter gene expression of glucose transporter 4, GPR41, or GPR43 in both IM and SC adipocytes. Addition of CrAc, resulted in a decreased pAMPKα to AMPKα ration (p<0.01) in IM. Conclusion: These data may indicate that Cr source may influence lipid filling in IM adipocytes via inhibitory action of AMPK phosphorylation and upregulating expression of adipogenic genes.

  • An active front end (AFE) is required for a three-phase induction motor (IM) fed by a voltage source inverter (VSI), because of the increasing need to derive quality current from the utility end without sacrificing the power factor (PF). This study investigates a proportional-plus-integral (PI) controller based AFE topology that uses a super-lift converter (SLC). The significance of the proposed SLC, which converts rectified AC supply to geometrically proceed ripple-free DC supply, is explained. Variations in several power quality parameters in the intended IM drive for 0% and 100% loading conditions are demonstrated. A simulation is conducted by using MATLAB/Simulink software, and a prototype is built with a field programmable gate array (FPGA) Spartan-6 processor. Simulation results are correlated with the experimental results obtained from a 0.5 HP IM drive prototype with speed feedback and a voltage/frequency (V/f) control strategy. The proposed AFE topology using SLC is suitable for three-phase IM drives, considering the supply end PF, the DC-link voltage and current, the total harmonic distortion (THD) in supply current, and the speed response of IM.
