A total of 80 photographs on 29 nights and another total of 44(22 each in B and V) photoelectric observations on 6 nights are secured for P/Halley(1982 ⅰ) for seven months before and after the perihelion passage. The photographic observations have been mode at different places depending on the position of the comet and the development of the tail, while the photoelectric observations were made only with 61-cm reflector at Yonsei University Observatory(YUO). Four most representative photographs are presented only to illustrate the remarkable features of the comet. The second one of these shows a coma with a possible flash activity on 1985 SEPT. 18.56 UT. The third one shows the largest tail recorded among our plates, and the last one prepresents unusual record made on northern hemisphere at a latitude as high as about $33^{circ}$12' N on the occasion of the comet's second perigee on 1976 APR. 11.6 UT. Photoelectric observations, on the other hand, determine the V and B-V of the total and the coma of the comet before its perihelion passage, and exhibit the light variations of 0m.6 in V in an hour and a half. Two new sets of m and n, one before and the other after the perihelion passage, determined based on the collected data, but the values are dissimilar one another significantly.

In the previous study we described the antitumor effect of GLB, a protein-polysaccharide fraction separated from the growing tips of Ganoderma lucidum, against sarcoma 18 0 solid tumor in ICR mice. In this study, we separated an acidic protein-polysaccharide fraction, GLB-A, and a basic protein-polyaccharide fraction, GLB-B, from GLB by differential precipitation, and elucidated their antitumor and immunomodulatory activities. When ip injected at the dose of 50mg/kg/day into the ICR mice, GLB-A and GLB-B inhibited the growth of ip implantated sarcoma 180 cells by 32.4% and 21.0%, respectively. Of these, GLB-A increased the % lymphoblast in the spleen of the tumor-bearing and the normal mice by 20.9% and 123.0%, and the CD4/CD8 ratio by 73.3% and 22.4%, respectively. GLB-A also increased the expression of CD25 (IL-2 receptor alpha ch0ain) in normal mice by 82.0%. These results strongly suggest that GLB-A is a promising candidate for antitumor immunomodulatory medicine.

Hyelgalsan(HGS) is important prescriptions that have been used in oriental medicine for stomatitis and wound healing. The study was done to evaluate the inhibitory effects of cytotoxicity, formation of superoxide on the macrophage and neutrophil, prostaglandins($PGE_2$), interleukins($IL-1{\beta}$), collagenase activity and synthesis of collagen and DNA. The results were obtained as follows: 1. HGS was not showed the proliferation difference of human fibroblast and monocyte in all concentrations to be experimented and in result, it was concluded that they have no cytotoxicity. 2. HGS inhibited the formation of superoxide to 48% at the concentration of 0.01% in the mouse monocyte. 3. HGS was not showed the proliferation difference of human monocyte in all concentrations to be experimented and in result, it was concluded that they inhibited the formation of superoxide. 4. HGS was not showed the proliferation difference of human neutrophil in all concentrations to be experimented and in result, it was concluded that they inhibited the formation of superoxide. 5. The concentration of inhibiting the production of prostaglandins($PGE_2$) to slight in the human monocyte stimulated with E. coli were 0.01% of HGS. 6. The concentration of inhibiting the production of interleukins($IL-1{\beta}$) to slight in the human monocyte stimulated with E. coli were 0.001% and 0.0001% of HGS. 7. HGS didn't influence on collagen synthesis and total protein in fibroblasts. 8. HGS inhibited the collagenase activity to 22% at 0.1%, 45% at 0.2%, 57% at 0.5% respectively.

Weft straightener is an important process to control the final quality of the fabrics. It is needed to calibrate the distorted weft after dyeing process. During various fabric treatment processes, the fabric is almost done with heat treatment through a tenter machine. At this time, weft distortion is occurred with uneven tension distribution. Traditionally, photo sensor is commonly used to detect the weft distortion but it is not applicable for special fabric types such as twill, mesh, combi, etc. In this paper, a new method for detecting the weft distortion using camera is introduced. A new weft straightener simulator is also developed to test the ability of the proposed method. It is shown that the method can be applied for various fabric types.

This experimental study was carried out to evaluate the effects of Acanthopanacis cortex on Cytokine-inducing and and immune response in Mice. In order to investigate the effect of Acanthopanacis cortex, the following was performed; Cytotoxicity, in vitro, the fraction of $CD4^+$, $CD8^+$, $B220^+$ in splenic cell, gene expression of IL-12(p35), IL-12(p40), IFN-${\gamma}$, and splenic cell proliferation by Acanthopanacis cortex. Analysis of cytokine gene expression was carried out by RT-PCR amplification. Amplified PCR products were electrophoresed on 1.2% agarose gel, and the analysis (Ht) was used to 1D-density program. The results were obtained as follows. Acanthpanacis cortex showed didn't have cell toxicity under $12{\mu}g/m{\ell}$ group on mouse lung fibroblast cells. In an in vitro model using mouse peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), extract of Acanthpanacis cortex induced multiple cytokine, including interleukin-12 (p35), interleukin-12 (p40), interferon-gamma (IFN-${\gamma}$). The extract also enhanced the percentages of the $CD4^+$, and $CD8^+$ in the untreated control were $22.1{\pm}3.3$ to $38.4{\pm}2.1$, and $5.0{\pm}0.4$ to $10.7{\pm}0.3%$, respectively. From above findings, it is suggested that Acanthopanacis cortex is able to anti-cancer and activate immune response system.

Small size DC motor control method for portable drug delivery system has been developed to be used for the actuator of insulins pump. The control method gives the controllabilities both in high speed(40-50 revolution per second(rps)) DC motor drive and also in low speed(0.5-1rps). In low speed mode DC motor is controlled to act like stepping motor and in high speed to optimize power consumption. To control both mode modified bang bang control is suggested. Using this method small size DC motor(spec.) speed is controlled from 0.2 rps to 50 rps. Experimental setup is developed using micro-processor(PIC16C73, Micro Chips co., USA), motor turns checking circuitry, small size DC motor for pager(SM1012, Samhong co., Korea) and gear box. Results from experiment meet need for vailable load condition which is require for portable drug delivery system.

주세걸(朱世傑)의 산학계몽(算學啓蒙)은 조선 산학의 발전에 가장 큰 기여를 하였다. 19세기 중엽에 출판된 산학계몽주해(算學啓蒙註解)를 조사하여 19세기 조선 산학의 발전을 연구한다. 홍정하(洪正夏)의 구일집(九一集)의 방정식논(方程式論)과 서양 수학의 영향을 받아 구조적으로 산학계몽(算學啓蒙)을 연구하여 저술한 산학계몽주해(算學啓蒙註解)는 19세기 조선의 대수학 발전의 기초를 이룬 산서이다.

본 연구의 목적은 16주 근력 트레이닝을 동반한 TRX, 코어 훈련이 엘리트 역도 선수의 피로물질과 근 손상, 산화적손상, myokine에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위함이다. 본 연구 대상자들은 총 10명(남 6명, 여 4명)으로 구성되어 있으며 16주 근력 운동과 더불어 코어 및 TRX 트레이닝을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. Ammonia와 Pi는 트레이닝 전에 비해 점차적으로 증가함을 나타냈으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 근 손상 물질인 CK는 트레이닝 전에 비해 8주에 유의한(p<0.05) 증가를 나타냈으며, LDH는 트레이닝 전에 비해 8주에 유의한(p<0.05) 증가를 나타냈지만 16주에는 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 산화적 손상 지표인 MDA는 트레이닝전과 16주에 비해 트레이닝 8주에서 유의한(p<0.05) 증가를 나타냈으며, 항산화 지표인 TAS 또한 트레이닝 전에 비해 트레이닝 8주에서 통계적으로 유의한(p<0.05) 증가를 나타냈다. Myokine인 IL-15는 트레이닝 전에 비하여 트레이닝 8주와 16주에 통계적으로 유의한(p<0.05) 증가를 나타냈다. 결과적으로 16주 고강도 근력 트레이닝은 엘리트 중학교 역도선수의 피로물질과 근 손상, 산화적 손상, myokine에는 긍정적이 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구는 비만아동을 대상으로 12주간 중강도 유산소 운동을 통해 신체조성, 아디포넥틴, RBP-4, 혈관염증인자에 미치는 영향을 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 대상자들은 두 집단으로, 운동군(n=15)은 12주간 중강도 유산소 운동을 실시하였고, 대조군(n=13)은 운동 프로그램에 참여하지 않았다. 운동군은 여유심박수 50%의 운동강도로 300 kcal에 도달할 때까지 트레드밀에서 런닝을 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다 : 운동군이 통제군보다 체중, 체질량지수, 체지방률, 수축기 혈압과 이완기 혈압이 각각 유의하게 감소하는 것으로 나타났고(p<0.05), 최대산소섭취량은 운동군에서 높게 나타났다(p<0.05). 공복시 혈당, 인슐린과 인슐린저항성은 운동군에서 유의하게 감소하였고(p<0.05), 아디포넥틴은 12주 운동 후 운동군에서 유의하게 증가하였다(p<0.05). 또한, 혈중 RBP-4, CRP, IL-6 농도는 대조군보다 운동군에서 유의하게 감소하는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 본 연구에서 12주간 규칙적인 유산소 운동 프로그램은 비만 아동들의 염증과 신체지수 개선에 긍정적인 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.

Alkali soluble(AS) fraction, revealed the highest antitumor activity of the alkali extracted fractions of G. lucidum IY 009, was loaded on DEAE cellulose(OH$^{-}$ form) column. AS-1, AS-2, AS-3, AS-4 and AS-5 were obtained by stepwise elution with H$_{2}$O, 0.1 M NaHCO$_{3}$, 0.3 M NaHCO$_{3}$, 0.5 M NaHCO$_{3}$ and 0.5 N NaOH respectively, and their antitumor activities(I.R. %) against the sarcoma 180 were 97.5%, 68.0%, 73.0%, 81.0% and 66.0% respectively. AS-1 observed highest antitumor activity was appeared as single peak on the Sepharose CL-4B column chromatography, and their molecular weight was about 580,000 dalton. The carbohydrate content of AS-1 was 98.9%, their monosaccharide consisted of 67.5% of mannose, 22.5% of xylose, 5.8% of glucose, 1.8% of galactose and 2.0% of ribose. AS-1 was assumed $\alpha $linkaged xylomannan having infrared absorption at 864.3 cm$^{-1}$. The main alditol acetates of AS-1 were identified as 1,5-Di-O-acetyl1-2,3,4-Tri-O-methylxylitol, 1,4,5-Tro-O-acety1-2,3,6-Tri-O-methylmannitol and 1,3,4,5-Tetra-O-acety1-2,6-Di-O-methylmannitol by methylation analysis, and their molar ratio was 1 : 2 : 1. The core portion of AS-1 might be $\alpha $-(1$\longrightarrow $ 4)mannopyranosyl unit branched with side chain, C1 of xylopyranosyl residue linked to C3 of every 3 mannopyranosyl units, and the degree of polymerization of structural unit in AS-1 was about 835.
