  • This paper investigates the illuminance level at the existing gas statioos and compares the results with the KS and IESNA standards. The IreaSured illuminance level in the pump island area is found to be high up to 3 tirres the recorrnrended value in KS and sorrewhat lower than one in IESNA standard. From this result we coodude that significant degree of energy saving can be possible from prwer maintenance program, and careful coosideration must be paid in the design process. And the KS standard need to be examined more thoroughly against other nation's standards.

  • This is a study to establish regulations against light pollution for lighting on roads. Many kinds of light pollution by luminaire on roads was calculated and analyzed by applying the classification method of luminaires(Cut-off classification of IDA-IESNA, BUG Rating Classification) and the calculation method of Upward Lighting Ratio of CIE among measures to prevent light pollution that international lighting organizations suggest. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the regulation by Cutoff of IESNA and ULR classification of CIE could be one for scattered light of light pollution compared to BUG classification but is not sufficient for the regulation of light tresspass or glare. BUG classification by each lighting zone was suggested as threshold value of the light pollution regulation considering domestic conditions.

  • This paper investigates the illuminance level at the existing gas stations and compares the results with the KS and IESNA standards. The measured illuminance level in the pump island area is found to be high up to 3 times the recommended value in KS and somewhat lower than one in IESNA standard. From this results we conclude that significant degree of energy saving can be possible from proper maintenance program, and careful consideration must be paid in the design process. And the KS standard need to be examined more thoroughly against other nation's standards.

  • In an attempt to estimate the life projection of LED packages, IESNA published a paper regarding an LED package measurement test method in 2008, and a life projection technical document in 2011, to be used for LED life estimation. IESNA's publications regarding LED package measurement methods were functional, but they were not internationally standardized before 2017. In order to develop a standardized method, the International Standard chose to use the LM-80 as a measurement method for LED life projection in their publication in 2017. Many projection methods have been discussed by the IEC Technical Committee 34 working group, including the method using an exponential function, which reflects lumen degradation characteristics well. This study is designed to explore alternative LED package life estimation methods using an exponential function with statistical analysis, other than the one suggested by the International Standard.

  • The exit surface of a lens is designed using a three-dimensional free-form expression in order to easily modify a curved surface. This enables the design of numerical values and mathematical things using three-dimensional free-form expression, and enhances precision because it can be fine-tuned via numerical control. The standard of "Classification of Luminaire Light Distribution" for outdoor lighting fixtures by IESNA is adopted in order to examine the correlation between three-dimensional free-form surface expression and lighting performance. The variation of light distribution type and range is analyzed using the values of maximum light intensity and 50% light intensity. The actual tolerance occurs owing to parameters such as the thickness of the lens, the distance between LEDs, and the movement of the center of the incident surface; the effects of changes in these parameters on the performance are compared and analyzed.

  • In the interior lighting, usually we refer to TAL and general lighting. The last one is that we generally adopt it in the interior lighting conditions. Here, glare is most important factor of them, especially in working place using VDT. Reference or development of estimation on glare has been studied in CIE, IESNA etc. and these of glare regulations now are applied differently in the interior lighting design or estimation on glare. But we have no glare regulation in detail, of course except G classification, which has limit of itself, so in my case it is impossible to apply in the interior lighting. On this paper, with some of main glare regulations in the world and our conditions in the interior lighting which are selected carefully, in an actual state it has been estimated So, it intended to blow which one is most suitable or what factors are considered of them, also show glare index which are appropriate to our interior lighting.

  • Purpose: To propose improved method for normalization, compare to the de facto international standard which is IESNA TM-21 or conventional normalization methods. Methods: Firstly, we analysed conventional methods and specified the problem of normalization method which is based on first measured data. Secondly, we proposed our approach which is based on the design specification. Lastly, we studied a real degradation data which is conducted for 15,000 hours. Conclusion: Proposed normalization method is better approach because it can reflect real data and design specification, and reduce distortion when analysing degradation data. Also, It is appliable to other long-life reliability items.

  • It is required to determine proper values for the maintenance factor according to traffic volume in the freeway lighting design. This paper presents a simple method to seperate of the effect of surrounding environment and that of traffic volume, which is based on the IESNA treatment with additional assumptions on their effects. Furthermore, it is found that prevailing concept for the maintenance factor does not necessarily yield a proper value for light loss factor, so that an additional factor of 0.9 should be included as an equipment factor.factor.

  • The not an organization a branch stream the maintenance factor class on a class and the roadway type for roadway lighting design, the facted an insufficiency maintenance factor to apply our the country conditions. The consideration of maintenance factors is not being fully applied for roadway lighting design in Korea. This paper consider optical characteristics and maintenance factors as well as LID of Luminaires in designing roadway lighting. Consideration of maintenance factors that are neme specified according to LDD(Luminaire Dirt Depreciation), LLD(Lamp Lumen Depreciation), AADT(Average Annual Daily Traffic) based on IESNA regulation. The analyzed optical characteristics are applied for stagger and cross roadway types with maintenance factors in the range of 0.51$\sim$1.00 and equipment factor of 0.9.
