The Design of Switched Ethernet Network for IEC61850-based Substation Automation (IEC61850기반 변전소 자동화에 필요한 스위치 이더넷 네트워크 설계)

  • IEC61850 which has comes to international standard for substation automation is designed with a station and process bus communication with Ethernet. In this paper, mentioning difference between official networks and substation networks, authors present the requirements for temperature, humidity and EMI characteristics. The properties which network switch should be satisfied and the technologies which make those requirements possible are also proposed. Additionally, we analysis the traffic pattern of communication services which IEC61850 supports. Based on the pattern, we propose a practical design example of IEC61850 based network for a 154kV substation.

  • 대학의 게임개발 프로젝트에서 게임QA를 수행할 때 일정한 가이드라인이 없이 진행되는 경우가 많다. 게임QA 중 소프트웨어 테스팅 부분은 최근 확정된 ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 표준을 기준으로 할 수 있을 것이다. 다만 29119 표준의 내용이 매우 구체적이므로 이를 대학의 학기라는 제약에 맞춰서 진행하기 위해서는 표준이 제시하는 프로세스에 대한 최적화 과정이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 표준을 간략하게 살펴보고 이중 테스트 계획 수립 프로세스를 어떻게 최적화할 수 있는지 방안을 제시하였다.

Beginning of a New Standard: Internet of Media Things

  • Recently, Internet of Things (IoT) drives a large variety of research, development, and new type of markets. All type of devices and sensors will be part of the Internet of Things and will be able to communicate not only plain data, but also audio-visual, olfactory, and haptic media data. In addition, as the devices and sensors getting smarter, it is highly probable that they can process acquired media and metadata to extract higher level of information (e.g., semantics). To support such enhanced functionalities, ISO/IEC SC29 WG11 (MPEG) starts a new standard project, ISO/IEC 23093, called Internet of Media Things (IoMT) to provide standard data formats and APIs for media things. This paper presents the standardization activities of IoMT focusing on explaining terms, standard scopes, and major media things with their use cases. One of the use cases, an IoT system for a blind pedestrian navigation assistance, is evaluated to prove its effectiveness.

  • This paper presents the development technology of standard resistor divider for full lightning impulse voltage. The ability of high voltage bulk power equipment to withstand lighting stroke is usually evaluated by means of full lightning impulse voltage. Lightning impulse voltage test has been essential to evaluate the insulation performance of electrical power apparatus. Recently International standard (IEC 60) on high voltage measurement techniques is being revised and requests a formal traceability of high voltage measurements. Therefore, general interest for this area has grown considerably during last years, and several international intercomparisions have been completed already worldwide, i.e. Europe, Japan, America etc.. In this viewpoint, we have also investigated the standard resistor divider with shield, which satisfies the IEC recommendation.

Development of Organization-level Evaluation Model and Process for Information Systems Quality (조직 수준의 정보시스템 품질평가 모형과 절차 개발)

  • This study suggests the organization-level standard(model and process) for quality evaluation of information systems(IS) in non-use organizations despite international standards(ISO/IEC 9126 and ISO/IEC 14598) and national standards(KS X 9126 and KS X 14598) related to quality evaluation of IS. The standard in this study is composed of quality evaluation processes, a quality model, and quality metrics. The weights of the attributes and the sub-attributes in the quality model were calculated by an analytic hierarchy process(AHP). The minimum level and the target level of each metrics were determined by brainstorming of the committee. Furthermore, the case study for the investigation of the applicability and the usability of the suggested organizational standard in the real IS development project was performed. For gaining significant benefits of the standard, both the diffusion and the experience accumulation by its continuous use are needed.

  • In the latest, it's increasing an applied technology to be related with growth of industry circles. It's one of them a software to be used in industry circles. and It's most important part to apply an industrial equipment, so software to take charge of major part is indicative performance of quipment. At this time, it's inspired an evaluation and measurement of software quality to have within industrial equipment, and it's forming the research and development by the inside and outside of the country. For this, it's constructed a valuation metric to be based on ISO/IEC 12119, the International Standard for general the terms desired of quality of software and ISO/IEC 9126-2, the International Standard of the terms valuation of qualify for evaluation and measure, and for this accomplishment, It has been designed and developed industrial software international standard compatible approval system which approve a quality based on quality test result of industrial software using the ISO/IEC 14598-6 that international standard for organization of evaluation module.

  • The Train Networks has a goal which requires the fast and correct data communication for distributable equipment systems. For this, in 1999, some train makers had established the standard TCN(IEC61375-1) for the inter-operating between equipment systems. Recently, TCN is being used in EU, China and the requirement to use it is growing up by many other countries more and more. The TCN was adopted at Korea High-speed Train with first in Korea, and Rotem Company finished the design of TCMS with TCN network for Istanbul EMU and KTX-2 Train and tests them. TCN(Train Communication Networks) defines the set of communication vehicle buses and train buses. The MVB(Multifunction Vehicle Bus) defines the data communication interface of equipment located in a vehicle and the WTB(Wire Train Bus) defines the data communication interface between vehicles. This paper examines whether the result of on-board test is satisfied with the IEC61375-1(International Electrotechnical Commission 61375-1) which is the international standard of TCN and introduce the results.

The Characteristic of Electric Field Penetration into Infinite Conducting Plane with an Aperture Due to HEMP Incidence (HEMP 파원에 의한 무한 도체 평판 개구의 침투 전계 특성)

  • This paper presents the comparison of electric field penetration in Bell laboratories and IEC 61000-2-9 standard when HEMP source penetrates through an aperture in a planar conducting plane of infinite extent. HEMP electric field distributions assume in order to interpret this problem. Integral equation is derived and solved by Galerkin's method of moments for calculating the penetrating electric field. It is shown that penetrated electric field of IEC 61000-2-9 standard is greater than the Bell Laboratories waveform in resonance of lower frequency band, but those waveforms are similar in shape to frequency domain.

  • The CMD(Condition Monitoring & Diagnosis) System is used to monitor and analyze the PD(Partial Discharge), Arc, Temperature, Pressure, Gas in Oil and so on for reliability and availability of the substation. Although this system comes into the spotlight as the forecast and management of the failure and fault, there are some problems. For example, the unified standard was not defined, and the effective management of the layed communication network does not performed, limitation of physical space, etc. To resolve above problems, this paper suggests the IEC61850 compatible eCMD system architecture for monitoring and analyzing the CMD factor in substations. The suggested eCMD system consists of CMD-LU(Condition Monitoring & Diagnosis-Local Unit), IED(Intelligent Electronic Device), and engineering centers. The IEC61850 is the international standard that defines communication networks and system in substation.

  • This paper proposes a new metadata schema for effective mobile service of augmented reality technology, which is used in the convergence of media into a frame among the real world image and objects of virtual world. The proposed metadata schema is extended from JPSearch Core Metadata Schema (ISO/IEC 24800-2 International Standard) with analysis of the functionalities under industrial requirements, and enables to provide an effective application in the actual services. In addition, the proposed schema is available to organize the exchange of information between heterogeneous systems. With development of the prototype system, the proposed metadata schema is going to be submitted and verified under ISO/IEC JTC1 SC29 WG1 JPEG AR standard project.
