  • In order to cope with the decrease of construction manpower caused by the aging population and to improve construction productivity, Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has been promoting construction methodology using ICT (Information & Communication Technology) since 2016. The ministry has established and implemented new cost estimation standards, delivery systems, and government support policies to boost automated earthwork using ICT, and is expanding the types of automated construction methodology applied at the construction sites. To utilize ICT at construction sites in Korea, as in case of Japan, laws, systems, and policies should be readjusted first. By comparing the ICT-related systems and policies between Japan and Korea, this paper scrutinizes critical benchmarking factors. As a result, we have reached the conclusion that in order to promote ICT methodology at Korean construction sites, Korean government should establish ICT-related cost estimation standards, delivery systems, and economic support policies in advance.

  • As the COVID-19 crisis continues, working environments and lifestyles have been changed unexpectedly, therefore the importance of mental health in the working environments has been highlighted. When the workers' mental health deteriorates, there will be personal losses but also human resources losses caused productivity decrements of the company or the organization. Many researchers have been tried to solve these issues with the help of ICT technologies such as wearable devices. Most wearable healthcare devices have been designed to detect the physiological status of users and collect the physical activities of users, and their applications are gradually expanding. Those devices may be good candidates to prevent loss of human resources from working environments especially under the COVID-19 situation by continuously monitoring mental health status in connection with mobile devices and managing the mental health on their own by combining mental well-being with support solutions. In this paper, the development trend of mental health measurement and mental well-being support technologies is analyzed, and development prospects are examined.

  • This study aimed to use national forest inventory data to develop a forest productivity index and yield prediction model of a Tilia amurensis stand. The site index displaying the forest productivity of the Tilia amurensis stand was developed as a Schumacher model, and the site index classification curve was generated from the model results; its distribution growth in Korea ranged from 8-16. The growth model using age as an independent variable for breast height and height diameter estimation was derived from the Chapman-Richards and Weibull model. The Fitness Indices of the estimation models were 0.32 and 0.11, respectively, which were generally low values, but the estimation-equation residuals were evenly distributed around 0, so we judged that there would be no issue in applying the equation. The stand basal area and site index of the Tilia amurensis stand had the greatest effect on the stand-volume change. These two factors were used to derive the Tilia amurensis stand yield model, and the model's determination coefficient was approximately 94%. After verifying the residual normality of the equation and autocorrelation of the growth factors in the yield model, no particular problems were observed. Finally, the growth and yield models of the Tilia amurensis stand were used to produce the makeshift stand yield table. According to this table, when the Tilia amurensis stand is 70 years old, the estimated stand-volume per hectare would be approximately 208 m3 . It is expected that these study results will be helpful for decision-making of Tilia amurensis stands management, which have high value as a forest resource for honey and timber.

  • The study determined the access, skills and constraints towards the usage of ICT among barangay officials. A complete enumeration technique was used due to the small size of the population. A total of 121 barangay secretaries and barangay treasurers comprised the study respondents. The findings revealed that most of barangay officials have access to personal computer at home and in the office using their own mobile data and office internet connectivity. With the support from the Local Government Unit (LGU), it was found that most of the respondents are advance and proficient in computer usage. As constraints to ICT usage, the study respondents still experienced slow internet bandwidth that makes connection and communication weak along with the low income status. Consequently, it was found that there were no significant differences in terms of skills and constraints among barangay secretaries and barangay treasurers towards using ICT. It can be concluded that study respondents prefer to use office computer to access the information they need due to the convenience and availability of resources. The study respondents were competent enough to handle their job well but listed slow internet and low financial resources may hamper their ICT usage. Research implications were also offered.

  • The pig ICT automatic feeder is capable of automatically feeding feed, etc. according to the set conditions. However, there is a disadvantage that the setting condition itself must depend on the user's experience. Therefore, trial and error is caused, and there is a problem that the efficiency is lowered. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a system and implement a service model that can improve pig productivity by suggesting optimal feeding setting conditions based on data. Therefore, in this paper, a pig feeding management service model was developed using the performance analysis program such as the existing feeding data, breeding management data, and pig production management system. Through this, we developed a consumer-oriented feed management service model that can be efficiently utilized by analyzing pig data. In addition, it is possible to provide a service that contributes to a decrease in the mortality rate and an increase in the MSY of the farms with the intelligent automatic feeding management service, thereby improving the productivity of the pig farms and thereby increasing the income of the pig farms.
