It is now widely recognized that new Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have been changing the way tv which firms conduct their businesses. Examples are the application of enterprise resources planning (ERP) and business process reengineering (BPR) to increase the efficiency of internal resources management, adoption of Business-to-Business e-commerce (B2B e-com) to integrate supply chain, and invention of new marketing channels such as Business-to-Customer (B2C) e-com. These new ways of conducting businesses are believed to help firms to reduce transaction costs and increase productivity. As a result, new ICTs have played an important role in recent growth of many small firms into multi-functional and multi-product corporations and in their spatial expansion towards internationalization as well. This paper takes Haier in China as a case to study the role of new ICTs in the growth of firms and reveal how the new technologies have facilitated the expansion of Haier into a transnational corporation (TNC) by examining the internationalization process of the firm in relation to its adoption of new ICTs in the period from 1990 to 2002. The study reveals that the adoption of new Ins has helped Haier to integrate its functional units located in dozens of places across the world, which is essential to the internationalization of a firm, and to link closely together its worldwide suppliers and customers to achieve just-in-time (JIT) production and delivery. As such, the authors of the paper argue that, without the facilitation of new ICTS, Haier could not have developed into a TNC in less than ten years. It is now widely recognized that new Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have been changing the way tv which firms conduct their businesses. In this digital age, all organizational environments force businesses to adopt Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) since these technologies have immense impact on such businesses' competitiveness and productivity. Nonetheless, the productivity and the competitiveness enjoyed by such firms vary depending on the size or the organizations, context of the country; developing or developed, and what kinds of technologies are adopted. This investigation focused on small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of Eastern province of Sri Lanka where such studies are scanty. The adoption of social media (SM) by SMEs is inclined to change how organizations operate, this calls for an investigation of the elements that impact SMEs to adopt SM and such investigation. Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework was based to understand the factors. Research approach was quantitative approach using questionnaire survey. Data were collected using online form to see 285 valid responses. Structural Equation Modelling was deployed to evaluate the proposed model. Results revealed that Relative Advantage, Compatibility, Complexity, Observability, Competitive Intensity, Bandwagon Pressure, and Competitive Pressure were influencing, while Trialability, Top Management Support, CEO's Innovativeness did not show statistically significant influence on SMEs' social media adoption.
As virtual assistants rapidly diffused into the market, the voice shopping market is expected to expand. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that determine the consumers' intention to adopt voice shopping by using the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology(UTAUT). In this study, we set variables that influence the intention to adoption of voice shopping with performance expectation and effort expectations as the variables of UTAUT and playfulness expectations as an extended variable. In addition, we also include four voice secretary attributes such as response accuracy, compatibility, social presence, and safety in our research model to investigate the source of motivation of voice shopping adoption. The result of this analysis shows that variables such as performance expectation, effort expectation, and amusement expectation have a positive effect on the intention to adoption of voice shopping. With respect to the four voice shopping attributes, compatibility had a positive effect on performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and playfulness expectancy. Social presence has a positive effect on playfulness expectancy. Safety has a positive effect on effort expectancy and playfulness expectancy. On the other hand, response accuracy is not significant for performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and playfulness expectancy. This study reveals the determinants of intention to adopt the new purchasing method called voice shopping, and suggests the important factors for the innovation of commerce business.

This paper explores the ways in which collaborative working among multiple disciplines in building projects can be more effective and efficient. It focuses on the support that can be provided by the latest development in information and communication technologies. It also considers the growing interdependence between participants in the process and their changing roles as they harness the power of the new technologies in new collaborative arrangements. It is argued that collaborative working should be addressed holistically from the technological angle, the social angle, as well as the organisational angle, to ensure its successful implementation in the construction industry. A case study is given to illustrate the use of ICT in supporting value management studies. The key issues surrounding the emerging field of research - collaborative construction information management - and the potential benefits and challenges of its wide adoption are discussed at depth.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has attracted great attention from diverse home and foreign industries. To provide lessons learned and action principles based on real RPA adoption and application experiences, various case studies have been conducted. However, lacking is an investigation of public sector for RPA adoption, especially in Korea. To reduce the research gap, this study presents a case study of RPA adoption by a representative Korean ICT public organization, NIA (National Information society Agency). By automating a core process, entering a document to a governmental portal service, NIA has achieved various management performances in terms of cost, operation, and business impacts. Especially, by relieving four types of rigidity of public institutions (i.e. structure, human resource, tasks, and rules), Our case study result suggests that RPA enables public institutes to overcome obstacles of pursuing digital transformation. Implications and limitations for future public RPA adopters are offered.
This study aims to identify the primary user group in the growing metaverse space based on the increased interest during the COVID-19 era. It also aims to explore the predictive factors for metaverse adoption. To predict online activities, the study examined user purposes, motivations, and relevant demographic factors as predictive variables through model analysis. The data from the Korean Media Panel Survey were used, and a two-stage analysis with the Heckman two-stage sample selection model was conducted to predict metaverse users. The analysis revealed that the key factors influencing metaverse adoption were offline activities, openness, OTT usage, and purchasing of paid content. Moreover, in the second stage model, openness, gender, and paid content purchases were identified as significant variables for increasing metaverse usage time. These results indicate that understanding metaverse users is essential in the context of the rising interest in online activities during the COVID-19 era and can provide valuable insights for metaverse platform-related companies and developers.
The 7th National Curriculum Guidelines strongly suggest the use of ICT for schools, and one of the best way to integrate ICT could be the implementation of Integrated Learning Systems (ILS). ILS is known to be a comprehensive system for learning that offer variety of multimedia contents and activities, textbooks, and networked systems. It is a comprehensive package for instruction and loaming tailored to fit specific curriculum. Thus, ILS is well-integrated and well-suited to individual learners' interest or capabilities. The school teachers who would have to use ICT in their courses required by the 7th National Curriculum Guidelines, ILS could be an innovative tool to be effective not only in teaching but also in using ICT. However, effective use and development of ILS, in Korea, should be supported by the educational decision makers and policies to fit Korean school curriculum. Thus, in this paper, we have studies to look at examplary ILS and a couple of cases to consider ILS for possible adoption in Korea.
Despite a commonly held belief that standards obstruct innovation, recent research shows that they can actually play critical roles in supporting various activities of technological innovation. Thus, providing an innovation-friendly environment through standardization has been gaining much attention in recent years; however, there is as yet limited understanding, due to complex dynamics and high uncertainties associated with innovation, as well as a variety of different types and functions of standards with various stakeholders involved. The problem becomes even more challenging for standardization in highly complex systems, such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems, where a large number of domains and components are involved, along with various types of stakeholders. In order to deal with such complexity and variations, a systematic approach of standardization roadmapping has been used in many technology-leading countries as a strategic policy tool for supporting effective management of standardization. Despite its wide adoption, the current understanding of standardization roadmapping is somewhat limited, leaving significant challenges for policymakers and standards organizations in terms of how to structure and manage roadmapping exercises, and how the government should get involved. In this regard, the current research explores existing standardization roadmaps in various contexts related to ICT systems (ICT in Korea, Smart Grid in the US, and electromobility in Germany), as there is a particular need for systematic development of strategies for such complex systems of ICT. Focusing on various aspects of standardization roadmapping exercises such as their structures, processes, and participants, their common features and key characteristics are identified. Comparing these roadmaps also reveal distinct differences between standardization roadmapping approaches adopted by different countries in different contexts. Based on lessons learnt from existing practices, the study finally provides insight for the Korean ICT standards community on the ways in which their standardization roadmapping approach can be improved to support anticipatory management of standardization activities more effectively. It is expected that the current research can not only provide increased understanding of standardization roadmaps, but also help policymakers and standards organizations to develop more effective strategies for supporting innovation through the systematic management of standardization.

Consumer innovativeness plays a vital role in explaining consumer dynamics, such as adoption, usage, and behavioral intention, in the new world of disruptive online media. This empirical study aimed to examine the importance of consumer innovativeness and digital literacy in the adoption and expansion of new technology-based media services, focusing on OTT services. Extending the theory of adoption of new technologies by innovators to new media environment centered on OTT services, it examines the influence of the four dimensions of motivated consumer innovativeness on OTT service usage. The Korea Media Panel Data of 2019, where overall ICT usage and media consumption of a broad panel of respondents was collected, was used for the analysis. From the data of 10,864 respondents, 4,031 (37.1%) were found to have experience in using OTT services. To clarify the mediating effect of digital literacy on the correlations between cognitive innovativeness of consumers and their use of OTT services, Process Macro Model 4 was used. The bootstrap method was applied to reveal that all four dimensions of consumer innovativeness have a significant indirect effect on new media usage through digital literacy, thus indicating how digital literacy plays an important role in the spread of new digital services in addition to consumer innovativeness. The findings are important in that they can help in the efforts to introduce new technologies to the public and educate them to improve their digital literacy so that they can enjoy the complete experience of using these new digital products.
