NGC 281의 젊은 별들의 운동학적 특성 (The Kinematic Properties of Young Stars in NGC 281: its implication on star formation process)

  • Stellar kinematics is a useful tool to understand the formation and evolution of young stellar systems. Here, we present a kinematic study of the HII region, NGC 821, using the Gaia Early Data Release 3. NGC 281 contains the open cluster IC 1590. This cluster has a core and a low-stellar density halo. We detect a pattern of cluster expansion from the Gaia proper motion vectors. Most stars radially escaping from the cluster are distributed in the halo. We measure the 1-dimensional velocity dispersion of stars in the core. The velocity dispersion (1 km/s) is comparable to the expected virial velocity dispersion of this cluster, and therefore the core is at a virial state. The core has an initial mass function shallower than that of the halo, which is indicative of mass segregation. However, there is no significant correlation between stellar masses and tangential velocities. This result suggests that the mass segregation has a primordial origin. On the other hand, it has been believed that the formation of young stars in NGC 281 West was triggered by feedback from massive stars in IC 1590. We investigate the ages of stars in the two regions, but the age difference between the two regions is not comparable to the timescale of the passage of an ionization front. Also, the proper motion vectors of the NGC 281 West stars relative to IC 1590 do not show any systematic receding motion from the cluster. Our results suggest that stars in NGC 281 West might have been formed spontaneously. In conclusion, the formation of NGC 281 can be understood in the context of hierarchical star formation model.

Design of a Communication-Aid Circuit to Detect Eye-Gazed Patterns

  • A communication-aid circuit to detect eye-gazed patterns is proposed in this paper. The circuit is an analog-digital mixed system. By determining the direction of eye-gazed pattern, the circuit detects an eye-gazed pattern from 2-dimensional arrayed patterns on a syllabary. Different from conventional systems, the syllabary is moved to overlap the eye-gazed pattern with the center coordinate of screen. Thus, the proposed circuit can avoid a complex calculation of the distance between the eye-gazed point and the center coordinate. Furthermore: an economical size of hardware can be provided since no full-adders are required by employing floating-gate MOSFBT's. The validity of the cricuit design is confirmed by computer simulations. Furthermore, to implement onto an IC chip, the layout design is performed by using a CAD tool, MAGIC.

  • In this paper, we propose the algorithm for mask level simulation. The circuit parameters were extracted from the photomask data in format of bitmap. The extracted circuit parameter was transformed into the input file format of SPICE-16. And then the simulation of mask pattern data was carried out the SPICE-16. Thus the error operation of IC due to the mistake of photomask pattern could be prevented.

  • Recently the development of design and automation technology and manufacturing method, has reduced the cost of chip, but it becomes more difficult to test IC chip because test technique doesn't keep up with these techniques. In case of IC testing, obtaining test vectors to be able to detect good chip or bad one is very important, but according to increasing complexity, it is very complex and difficult. Another problem is that during testing, there could be capability of physical and electrical damage on chip. Also there is difficulty in synchronization between CUT (circuit under test) and Test equipment〔1〕. Because of these difficulties, built in self test has been proposed. Not only obtaining test vectors but also reducing test time becomes hot issues nowadays. This paper presents a new test BIST(built in self test) method. Proposed BIST implementation reduces test time and obtains high fault coverage. By searching internal nodes in which are inserted test_point_cells〔2〕and allocating TPG(test pattern generation) stages, test length becomes much shorter.

  • The semiconductor's design rule becomes more stringent, hence the silicon-dioxide etching technique is important issue. In this work we compared the etching characteristics of different three types of Plasma source, Normal ICP, magnetized ICP and E-IC $P^{TM}$. The E-IC $P^{TM}$ source shows higher etch rate at lower pressure and this is advantageous for the fine pattern process. The etching characteristics were varied with external magnetic field frequency at I-lCP and this is examined with Nanospe $c^{TM}$ and SEM. We designed Langmuir probe system for time resolved diagnosis. ion density of E-ICP is varying periodically with the applied external magnetic field frequencyquency

Inhibitory Effect of Hexane Fraction from Myagropsis myagroides on Pancreatic α-Amylase In Vitro

  • A Myagropsis myagroides (Mm) methanol extract showed α-amylase inhibitory activity of 13% at a concentration of 5 mg/ml. Results showed that the hexane fraction from the Mm methanol extract exhibited α-amylase inhibitory activity with an IC50 value of 4.24 mg/ml. The hexane fraction was separated using silica-gel column chromatography, and six subfractions were obtained. The fraction eluted with CHCl3:MeOH = 50:1 showed the highest α-amylase inhibitory activity with an IC50 value of 0.72 mg/ml. This fraction was purified using Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and an octadecyl silica (ODS) Sepak cartridge, obtaining seven subfractions. Fraction (Fr.) 4 also showed a strong α-amylase inhibitory activity with an IC50 value of 0.75 mg/ml. Fr. 4 was purified by Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and ODS Sepak cartridge, obtaining six subfractions. Fr. 4-2 was identified as sargachromanol I with an IC50 value of 0.40 mg/ml, and the inhibition pattern analyzed from Lineweaver-Burk plots revealed it to be an uncompetitive inhibitor. These results suggest that Mm has potential as a natural antidiabetes agent.

Soil salinity shifts the community structure and diversity of seed bacterial endophytes of salt-sensitive and tolerant rice cultivars

  • Soil salinity due to accumulation of salts particularly sodium chloride affects agricultural lands and their vegetation. Generally, rice is a moderately sensitive plant with some cultivars with varying tolerance to salinity. Though there are physiological differences between salt-sensitive and salt-tolerant rice cultivars, both are still affected especially during high salinity and prolonged exposure. This also ultimately affects their indigenous bacterial endophytes particularly those that inhabit the rice seed endosphere. This study investigates the dynamic structure of seed bacterial endophytes of salt-sensitive and tolerant rice cultivars grown in different levels of soil salinity. Endophytic bacterial diversity was studied Terminal-Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (T-RFLP) analysis. Results revealed a very interesting pattern of diversity and shifts in community structure of bacterial endophytes in the rice seeds. There is a general decrease in diversity for the salt-sensitive rice cultivar, IR29 as soil salinity increases. For the salt-tolerant cultivars, IC32 and IC37, diversity interestingly increased at moderate salinity then decreased at high soil salinity. The patterns of community structure is also strikingly different for the salt-sensitive and salt-tolerant rice cultivars. IR29 has a more even distribution of abundance, but under soil salinity, the community shifted where Curtobacterium, Pantoea, Flavobacterium and Microbacterium become the more dominant bacterial communities. For IC32 and IC37, the dominant bacterial groups under normal stress conditions were also the dominant bacterial groups during salt stress conditions. Their seed bacterial community is dominated by endophytes belonging to Microbacterium, Flavobacterium, Pantoea, Kosakonia and Enterobacter. Stenotrophomonas and Xanthomonas have not changed in terms of abundance under different salinity stress level in the salt-sensitive and salt-tolerant rice cultivars. This study showed that soil salinity greatly influenced the seed bacterial communities of rice seeds irrespective of their physiological tolerance to salinity.

오배자 추출물의 항바이러스 활성 (Antiviral activity of methanol extract from Rhus chinensis gall)

  • Newcastle disease virus (NDV) 감염된 baby hamster kidney 세포에서 Syncytium (합포체) 형성은 세포막 표면으로의 수송된 바이러스 당단백질 hemagglutinin-neuramidase에 의해 일어난다. HAU 값은 추출물의 농도가 25과 $3.2{\mu}g/mL$ 사이에서는 현저하게 감소하였으나, $25{\mu}g/mL$ 농도에서는 NDV 감염된 HAD (%)는 광범위한 흡착능의 감소를 나타났으나 바이러스 당단백질의 세포내 생합성은 저해되지 않았다. 그러므로 오배자 추출물은 바이러스 당단백질의 세포막으로의 수송과 함께 합포체 형성을 저해하여 항바이러스 활성을 갖는 것으로 결론된다. 또한 오배자 추출물의 저해활성을 조사한 결과 ${\alpha}-glucosidase$에 대한 추출물의 $IC_{50}$$12.5{\mu}g/mL$이었으며, ${\beta}-glucosidase$, ${\alpha}-glucosidase$, ${\beta}-mannosidase$에 대한 오배자 추출물의 $IC_{50}$은 각각 26, 36, $50{\mu}g/mL$로 나타나 ${\beta}-type$ glycosidases 보다 ${\alpha}-type$ glycosidase에 대한 효소활성 저해능이 우수하였다. 따라서 $IC_{50}$ 농도에서는 세포내에서 당단백질 생합성은 저해되지 않으며 당단백질의 수송을 저해하는 것으로 판단되었으며 향후 항바이러스 관련 작용기작의 연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.

은 나노 분말과 카본 잉크를 이용한 완전 인쇄형 NFC 태그 설계 (Design of a Full-Printed NFC Tag Using Silver Nano-Paste and Carbon Ink)

  • 본 논문에서는 은 나노 분말과 카본 잉크를 이용하여 13.56 MHz에서 동작하는 완전 인쇄형 NFC 태그를 설계 및 제작하였다. 제안된 NFC 태그는 50 pF의 내부 커패시턴스를 갖는 NFC 태그 IC에 적용하기 위해서, $2.74{\mu}H$의 인덕턴스를 갖는 원형 코일을 PI 필름 위에 설계하였으며, 전통적인 회로 제작 방식인 PCB 제조 공정에 비해 대면적 및 대량 생산, 저비용, 친환경공정 등의 장점을 가진 인쇄 전자 기술인 스크린 프린팅 기법을 이용하여 제작하였다. 제안된 구조는 단일 층으로 구현된 원형 코일, 코일 외곽과 중심부 사이에 칩 실장을 위한 점퍼 패턴, 그리고 코일과 점퍼 패턴과의 절연을 위한 절연 패턴으로 구성되어 있으며, 은 나노 분말과 카본 잉크를 이용하여 전도성 패턴과 절연 패턴을 중첩 인쇄하여 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 제안된 NFC 태그의 성능 검증을 위해 인쇄선폭, 두께, 선저항, 밀착력 그리고 환경 신뢰성 평가 등을 수행하였으며, 완전 인쇄형 제작 방식 기반 NFC 태그의 적합성을 확인하였다.

5-Hydroxy-2-phenylalanylaminomethyl-4-pyron 에 의한 티로시나제의 경쟁적 저해 (Competitive Inhibition of Tyrosinase by 5-Hydroxy-2-phenylalanylaminomethyl-4-pyron)

  • The inhibition mode of S-hydroxy-2-phenylalanylaminomethyl-4-pyron ($IC_{50}=24.6{\;}{\mu}M$) on mushroom tyrosinase was investigated using L-tyrosine as a substrate. This inhibitor is the kojic acid derivative, where the C-7 hydroxyl of kojic acid was replaced by amino group and coupled to the carboxyl of L-phenylalanine. The kinetic data obtained show a competitive inhibition pattern.
