Differential gene expression profiling was carried out in the hepatic tissue of medaka fish, Oryzias latipes, after exposure to an organophosphorus pesticide (OPP), Iprobenfos (IBP), a widely used pesticide in agri- and fish-culture, using a medaka cDNA micro array. Twenty six kinds of differentially expressed candidate genes, with 15 and 11 induced and repressed in their gene expressions, respectively, were associated with cytoskeleton (3.8%), development (7.7%), immune (7.7%), metabolism (30.8%), nucleic acid/protein binding (42.3%) and reproduction (7.7%). Of these genes, changes at the transcription level of five were re-evaluated by real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR). Considering the known function of authentic genes, the effects of IBP on the biological activity and pathological aspects in medaka fish were discussed. The identified genes could be used as molecular biomarkers for biological responses to OPPs contamination in an aquatic environment.
This experiment was carried out to elucidate the effect of the midsummer drainage times and some growth regulators on lodging characters, lodging and yield in puddled-soil drill seeding in rice. Dongjinbyeo, the mid-late maturing rice variety was seeded at May 11 by seeding machine with 4cm of furrow depth. Experimental plots were divided two main treatment without midsummer drain and two time drains (30 and 50 days after seeding), Inabenfide(IBF) was applied 40days before heading(DBH) and IBP was applied at 30DBH, respectively. Culm length was shorten, the wall of N$_4$ was thicken, and the breaking weight was increased at two time drainage and growth regulators applied in order of Inabenfide, IBP, and Control. Lodging wasn't occurred at two time drainage but it was occurred at none drainage in the order of Control, IBP, and Inabenfide applied. Yield was higher at two time drainage compared with none drainage and higher in order of Inabenfide, IBP and Control in none drainage but wasn't significantly different among growth regulators applied in two time drainage. Therefore, two times midsummer soil drying is recommendable management method for puddled -soil drill seeding of rice. Distribution characteristics of organophosphorous pesticides(OPs) in water and suspended particles were studied in Asan Bay, Korea, from June 2004 to October 2005. 28 organophosphorous pesticides could be detected in Asan Bay during this study. The most commonly and abundantly measured OPs in the surface waters were IBP (max=$6,343.7ng\;l^{-1}$). DDVP, diazionon, ethoprophos and methidathion were also observed at relatively high concentrations. Their maximum concentrations exceeded $100ng\;l^{-1}$ in almost every month. Malathion, mevinphos, ph orate and chlorfenvinphos were also detected at relatively high concentrations. Many OPs more frequently appeared in summer than in winter due to the intensive application of pesticides in summer months. The concentration of OPs generally decreased with increasing distance from the mouth of Asan Bay. This result implies progressive dilution of these pesticides in the marine environment. Measured concentrations of diazinon were well below $20,000ng\;l^{-1}$ which is a limit set by the seawater quality standard of Korea. The concentrations of malathion and parathion in the surface waters of Asan Bay did not exceed the seawater quality standard of Korea($250,000\;and\;60,000ng\;l^{-1}$ respectively). OPs adsorbed on suspended particles were also studied. DDVP, phorate, stirofos, EPN, azinphos-methyl and IBP had higher adsorption capacity onto suspended particles than other pesticides. Calculated pesticide-particle adsorption coefficient($K_d-particle$) for samples collected in Asan Bay were closely related to the reported pesticides-soil adsorption coefficient ($K_d-soil$).
To obtain basic information for the safe use of pesticides, the aquatic environment of 5 major rivers was surveyed in April and August 1982 for organochlorine and organophosphorus pesticide residues. Regardless of sampling times and sites, pesticide residue levels were very low. Of the organophosphorus pesticides surveyed, only IBP and diazinon were detected in water samples while fenthion, fenitrothion, chlorpyriphos, chlorpyriphos-methyl, chlorfenvinphos, phenthoate, and edifenphos were not detected in any water samples. Residue levels and detection frequencies of IBP or diazinon were much higher in water samples collected in August than those collected in April. Detection frequencies of organochlorine pesticides, on the other hand, were high, but their actual residue levels were very low. BHC was detected nearly in all water samples while aldrin was not found in any samples. Detection frequencies of heptachlor, endosulfan, and o.p`-DDT were considerably high but dieldrin and p.p`-DDT were detected in a few water samples and their residue levels were also very low.
Resistance mechanisms in the green peach aphid (Myzus persicae) resistant to imidacloprid were investigated. Imidacloprid residues on the aphid integuments decreased slowly as time passed with no significant difference between the susceptible and resistant strains. Residue in the aphid body increased in both strains with time elapse, and was slightly more in the susceptible strain. A higher metabolic rate of imidacloprid in the resistant strain can be expected by the fact that more amount of imidacloprid were excreted in the resistant strain than in the susceptible one. The activity of AChE was higher 1.4 times in the resistant strain than in the susceptible one, and imidacloprid did not inhibit AChE at all in both strains. Piperonyl butoxide (PBO) and iprobenfos (IBP) synergized imidacloprid activity. The mixtures of imidacloprid and PBO (1 : 1 and 1 : 5) caused 69.4- and 250-fold increase of imidacloprid toxicity against the aphid. Insecticide toxicity of the mixtures of IBP and imidacloprid (1 : 1 and 1 : 5) was also increased 227 and 80.6 times. Esterase activity when $\alpha$-naphtyl butyrate and $\beta$-naphtyl acetate were used as substrates was higher in the resistance strain than in the susceptible one. This means that P450 monooxygenase and esterase are responsible for the resistance to imidacloprid in this aphid strain.
Characteristics of organophoshhorus pesticides (OPs) distribution were investigated in Shingu Reservoir, as a shallow eutrophic agriculture reservoir in Korea. In August 2006, IBP, DDVP and dyfonate were detected in the water column of Singu Reservoir, ranging from 1340.7 to 16030.1 ng $L^{-1}$, 58.7 to 127.6 ng $L^{-1}$ and N.D. to 20.3 ng $L^{-1}$, respectively, However, in September 2006, mevinfos, ethoprofos, phorate, chlorfenvinfos, and methidathion were also found in addition to IBP (202.5${\sim}$213.2 ng $L^{-1}$), DDVP (100.7${\sim}$340.6 ng $L^{-1}$) and dyfonate (N.D.${\sim}$25.0 ng $L^{-1})$. Maximum concentrations of OPs were observed at the middle depth in August, which might be related with photo-oxidation. On the other hand, IBP and DDVP among the OPs were detected in suspended particles, suggesting the relatively active adsorption reactivity. The composition of OPs varied temporally on account of the influence of inflow water from its surrounding areas. In the present study, the observed OPs concentrations seem to be not acute toBic levels to aquatic organisms in Shingu Reservoir, considering the standard monitoring levels of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Japan Ministry of Environment.

The purpose of this study is to perform a dosimetric evaluation of amplitude-based respiratory gating for the delivery of volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT). We selected two types of breathing patterns, subjectively among patients with respiratory-gated treatment log files. For patients that showed consistent breathing patterns (CBP) relative to the 4D CT respiration patterns, the variability of the breath-holding position during treatment was observed within the thresholds. However, patients with inconsistent breathing patterns (IBP) show differences relative to those with CBP. The relative isodose distribution was evaluated using an EBT3 film by comparing gated delivery to static delivery, and an absolute dose measurement was performed with a $0.6cm^3$ Farmer-type ion chamber. The passing rate percentages under the 3%/3 mm gamma analysis for Patients 1, 2 and 3 were respectively 93.18%, 91.16%, and 95.46% for CBP, and 66.77%, 48.79%, and 40.36% for IBP. Under the more stringent criteria of 2%/2 mm, passing rates for Patients 1, 2 and 3 were respectively 73.05%, 67.14%, and 86.85% for CBP, and 46.53%, 32.73%, and 36.51% for IBP. The ion chamber measurements were within 3.5%, on average, of those calculated by the TPS and within 2.0%, on average, when compared to the static-point dose measurements for all cases of CBP. Inconsistent breathing patterns between 4D CT simulation and treatment may cause considerable dosimetric differences. Therefore, patient training is important to maintain consistent breathing amplitude during CT scan acquisition and treatment delivery.

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of supplementing vitrification and warming solutions with two types of antifreeze proteins (AFPs) and the combination thereof on the follicular integrity of vitrified-warmed mouse ovaries. Methods: Ovaries (n=154) were obtained from 5-week-old BDF1 female mice (n=77) and vitrified using ethylene glycol and dimethyl sulfoxide with the supplementation of 10 mg/mL of Flavobacterium frigoris ice-binding protein (FfIBP), 10 mg/mL of type III AFP, or the combination thereof. Ovarian sections were examined by light microscopy after hematoxylin and eosin staining, and follicular intactness was assessed as a whole and according to the type of follicle. Apoptosis within the follicles as a whole was detected by a terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase deoxyuridine triphosphate nick-end labeling assay. Results: The proportion of overall intact follicles was significantly higher in the type III AFP-supplemented group (60.5%) and the combination group (62.9%) than in the non-supplemented controls (43.8%, p<0.05 for each). The proportion of intact primordial follicles was significantly higher in the FfIBP-supplemented (90.0%), type III AFP-supplemented (92.3%), and combination (89.7%) groups than in the non-supplemented control group (46.2%, p<0.05 for each). The proportions of non-apoptotic follicles were similar across the four groups. Conclusion: Supplementation of the vitrification and warming solutions with FfIBP, type III AFP, or the combination thereof was equally beneficial for the preservation of primordial follicles in vitrified mouse ovaries.

This study was to investigate the distribution of the garment pressure in daily wearing and in ordinary posture. Ninety-nine college women students majoring the fashion were participated for this study. IBP questionnaire, garment pressure, personal preferring pressure sensations(questionnaire), and subjective garment pressure sensations were measured. There were no significant differences between the data of 2003 and those of 2005. Participants preferred T-shirts and jeans and also preferred slightly fitted style to the loose style. They were classified with the high garment pressure group and the low garment pressure group. Garment pressure from lower garments were usually higher in the high garment pressure group than in the low garment pressure group. There was no significant differences in the upper garments weights between two groups. The lower garments weight of the high garment pressure group showed $533.3{\pm}182.11g/m^2$ and that of the low garment pressure group was $453.4{\pm}181.6g/m^2$. There was a significant difference in the lower garments weight between two groups(p<.01). In a standing posture, there were no significant differences among the distribution of garment pressure. There was a significant garment pressure differences between sitting on a chair and sitting on the floor(p<.001). Participants included in the low garment pressure group felt a higher garment pressure than participants included in the high garment pressure group.
In order to develop the indicators of environmental impact of pesticide, its actual usage in paddy rice was surveyed, and usage trends of individual pesticides were evaluated. The tendency of pesticide use indicated insecticide 43%, herbicide 29%, fungicide 27% and top ranking item in insecticide, herbicide and fungicide was carbofuran, molinate + pyrazosulfuran-ethyl, IBP. The usage statistics of formulation types showed GR>DP>WP>EC>FG>SP. Pesticide usage(a.i.) per hectare was 7.13kg and total usage for paddy rice was estimated at 8,387 M/T. In the result of comparison of fact-usage with pesticide consumption reported in 1998, the fitness was 94.7% for fungicide, 84.3% for insecticide, 77.8% for herbicide. The result of monitoring pesticide residue of unpolished-rice sampled from farm house of survey indicated 0.14 ppm(BPMC), 0.16 ppm(Isoprocarb), 0.17 ppm(Isoprothiolane). In case of rice straw, the residue level was 0.27 ppm(Isoprothiolane), 0.28 ppm(IBP), 0.39 ppm(Carbofuran). The residue levels of pesticides were below MRLs.
