Changes of light intensity under and above shading materials were measured at different relative light intensity(R.L.I. 5% of common straw shading, 15% of polyester shading and 20% of polyester shading at 12 o'clock on clear day) and lines(lst, 3rd and 5th lines) on clear and cloudy days in 5-year -old ginseng plant populations. Rates of photosynthesis and respiration, microclimate and root yield were also measured in field. Air temperature of R.L.I. 5% were lower 2$^{\circ}C$ compared with R.L.I. 15% and lower 3$^{\circ}C$ compared with R. L. I. 20% from 12 to 14 o'clock on clear day, but there were not difference among R. L. I. on cloudy day. Relative humidity of R. L. I. 5% were higher 5% compared compared with R.L.I. 20% from 10 to 14 o'clock on clear day, R. L. I. on cloudy day. Light intensity were below 5,000 lux at R.L.I. 5%, about 15,000 lux at R.L.I. 15% and about 20,000 lux at R.L.I. 20% from 10 to 15 o'clock on clear day. But light intensity were below 3, 000 lux at R. L. I. 5% about 10, 000 lux at R. L. I. 15% and about 15, 000 lux at R. L. I. 20% from 10 to 15 o'clock on cloudy. Photosynthetic rate of R.L.I. 15% and R.L.I. 20% were higher compared with R.L.I. 5% on clear and cloudy days. Tatal photosynthesis in a day were increased by R.L.I. 5%, 20%, 15% in turn on clear and cloudy days. R. L. I. 15% and 20% were not notable difference of photosynthetic rates among lines but R. L. I. with R. L. I. 15%, and higher 8% but there were not different among 5% was notable difference of one. Root fresh weight were increased by R.L.I. 5%, 20% and 15% in turn and R.L.I. 15% and 20% were not notable difference of root yield among lines but R. L. I. 5% was notable difference of one.

The chirp signaling has been mainly used in radar systems due to its good correlation characteristics, and nowadays it is applied to real time locating system(RTLS). The RTLS with chirp signaling was chosen as a standard such as ISO/IEC 24730-5 and IEEE 802.15.4a. In this paper, the performance of a real time locating system with chirp signaling was evaluated and simulated with relative distance error rates. We considered three cases of S/I = -30[dB], -20[dB], and -10[dB] with Rician factor K=10 and K=20. The performance was enhanced with K factor improvement by 25%, 27% and 50% for respective three cases of S/I. As results, in case of S/I < -20[dB], the minimum signal power is required for performance improvement even though the line of sight component is helpful. And also, in case of S/I ${\geq}$ -20[dB], as the line of sight component is stronger the better performance is obtained.

The functional relationship between the number of mole of an i-fatty acid (Si) included in fish oil and the hydrolysis time(t) was expressed as a mathematical model, $S_i=-{\alpha_i}1n(t)+\beta_i$. The average errors of calculated values on the basis of the measured values were distributed in the range of less than $5\%$ for all the 15 fatty aids composing of fish oil. The equation of hydrolysis rate of each fatty acid was deduced as $v_i={\gamma_i}exp(\frac{S_i}{\alpha_i})$ from the above-mentioned $S_i=-{\alpha_i}ln(t)+{\beta_i}$. Therefore the hydrolysis yields of fatty acids were analyzed using the equation of $S_i\;Vs.\;t.$. The 15 fatty acids were categorized into 4groups from the view point of hydrolysis yield. The hydrolysis yields of the first group, including C14:0, C16:0, C16:1, C18:0, C18:1 (n-7) and 1l8:1 (n-9), were higher than $70\%$ at 48 hr of hydrolysis. Those of the second group, C20:1, C22:1, C18:3, C20:4 and C20:5, were distributed from $40\%,\;to\;60\%$, and third group were around $30\%$. The final group containing only C22:6 was very hard to be hydrolyzed and the yield was less than $20\%$ at the same time.

Non-diapausing larvae and diapausing pupae of Pieris rapae L. were treated with 20-HE and JH, and the concentration of 20-HE and JH in body were also measured to determine mechanisms of diapause induction and termination. When early last instar larvae of non-diapausing stage were injected with 20-HE or JH-I, diapause was not induced in both cases. 20-HE concentration of pre-diapausing last instar larvae was very low, and 20-HE peak of non-diapausing two-day-old pupae was not present in diapausing pupae. There was no difference in concentration of JH-I between diapausing and non-diapausing stages. When early and late diapausing pupae were injected with 20-HE, JH-I, or JH-III. diapause was terminated by 0.1-0.5 $\mu$g of 20-HE, but not by JH-I, or JH-III. The above results indicate that diapause of Pieris rapae was induced by decrease of 20-HE concentration and also terminated by gradual accumulation of 20-HE during diapause process.

The effect of chicken IGF-I on protein synthesis of chicken embryo myoblasts cultured in serum-free medium was examined. When myoblasts were expanded to approximate 20-30% of well, the medium was changed to the serum-free medium including 0, 2, 20, 200 or 2000 ng/ml of recombinant chicken IGF-I. The culture medium including 10% fetal calf serum (FCS) was used as positive control. After 1 day of incubation, protein synthesis was measured by the incorporation of [$^3H$]-L-leucine. Thereafter cells were continued to incubate for further 18 hours, and the radioactivity in the protein was measured as an index of protein synthesis. The values for protein synthesis cultured in the serum-free medium without chicken IGF-I or with 2000 ng/ml of chicken IGF-I were the lowest. Protein synthesis was elevated with increasing chicken IGF-I concentration from 0 to 20 ng/ml. The values for protein synthesis in the 20 ng/ml and 200 ng/ml IGF-I groups were about half of that of the FCS group. The present study revealed that the potency of chicken IGF-I at the levels of 20 to 200 ng/ml to stimulate myoblast protein synthesis was about half of that of 10% FCS.

Sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one solution of the boundary value problems for higher order nonlinear difference equations $\{{{{{\Delta^n}x(i-1)=f(i,x(i),{\Delta}x(i),{\cdots},\Delta^{n-2}x(i)),i{\in}[1,T+1],\atop%20{\Delta^m}x(0)=0,m{\in}[0,n-3],}\atop%20\Delta^{n-2}x(0)=\phi(\Delta^{n-1}(0)),}\atop%20\Delta^{n-1}x(T+1)=-\psi(\Delta^{n-2}x(T+1))}\$. are established.

Diabetes mellitus is associated with a wide range of pathophysiological in the kidney. This study was designed to examine the effects of high glucose concentration on IGF-I binding and glucose transporters in renal proximal tubule cells. The results were as follows : The binding of $^{125}I-IGF-I$ reached the peak at the 30 minutes and gradually decreased by the time dependent manner. The binding of $^{125}I-IGF-I$ was inhibited by the unlabelled IGF-I($10^{-14}{\sim}10^{-8}M$) in a concentration dependent manner. The relative affinity of IGF-I receptor for IGF-I, IGF-II and insulin exhibited typical type 1 binding(IGF-I > insulin > IGF-II). However IGF-II did not compete for the cultured cell membrane $^{125}I-IGF-I$ binding site at $10^{-14}{\sim}10^{-8}M$. Under optimal conditions, IGF-I binding to the membranes from 5mM and 20mM glucose treated cells was analyzed. It was found that 20mM glucose treated cells exhibited higher binding activity for IGF-I. In order to further substantiate this increase in IGF-I binding sites, we performed affinity-labelling studies. The cross-linked cell membrane subjected to SDS-PAGE; labelled material was detected by autoradiography. 20mM glucose treated cells exhibited higher levels. The initial rate of $methyl-{\alpha}-D-glucopyranoside({\alpha}-MG)$ uptake was significantly lower($74.41{\pm}6.71%$) in monolayers treated with 20mM glucose than those of 5mM glucose. However, 3-O-methyl-D-glucose(3-O-MG) uptake was not affected by glucose concentration in culture media. IGF-I significantly increased ${\alpha}-MG$ uptake in both 5mM and 20mM glucose treated cells. However, 3-O-MG uptake was not affected by IGF-I in both conditions. In conclusion, 20mM glucose increased binding sites of $^{125}I-IGF-I$, inhibited Na/glucose cotransporter activity. But 20mM glucose did not change facilitated glucose transporter.

Ginseng total saponins (GTS) injected intracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.) at doses from 0.1-1 vs inhibited the i.c.v. injection stress-induced plasma corticosterone levels in mice. The inhibitory action of GTS was blocked by co-administered NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME; 1.5 us, i.c.v.), an. inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase (NOS). Of the ginsenosides Rbl, Rba, Rc, Rd, Re, Rf, Rgl,20(S)-Rg3, and 20(R)-Rg3 injected i.c.v. at doses from 0.01 to 0.3ug(or 1 uE),20(5)-Rg3 and Rc significantly inhibited the o.c.v. injection stress-induced Plasma corticosterone levels. The inhibitory actions of 20(S)-Rg3 and Rc were blocked by co-administered L-NAME (1.5 n, i.c.v.). These results suggest that G75, 20(S)-Rg3 and Rc may inhibit the i.c.v. injection stress-induced hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal response by inducing NO production in the brain.

In this study, I analyzed the measurement data of the early 20s male who are emphasizing the importance of good clothes in the fashion of body-contact clothes. Through this, I tried to provide basic data necessary for making clothing for early 20s male. Using data from Size Korea's 7th Human Body Survey, 588 people aged 20-25 years were analyzed and classified into four types. Type 1 have a thick and short body, narrow ankle and calf, thin legs. And the hip is not sagged, and height is a little short. So I named it 'short & thick body with bird legs'. Type 2 have a broad shoulder, slim and long body, and no sagging shoulders. So I named it 'slim inverted triangular figure'. Type 3 have a small height, thin and short body, and a thick ankle and calf. So I named it 'short & thin body with thick legs'. Type 4 have a tall height, narrow shoulder, and sagging hip and shoulders. So I named it 'Long triangle'. In order to improve fit of body-contact clothes reflecting the trend of men's wear in recent years, it is necessary to develop clothing prototypes by body type. 20s have the most ideal body shape after completion of growth, but differences in the length, thickness, and thickness of the trunk. This is reflected in the apparel pattern system, and it can be expected to increase consumers' satisfaction if they are used to make excellent ready-to-wear patterns.

P & I Clubs are mutual and non-profit making insurers which offer shipowners cover for the contractual and third-party liabilities. Whereas most shipowners obtain P & I insurance to cover for their legal liabilities, they also obtain hull insurance to cover against damages to the hull of their vessels from commercial hull insurers. P & I insurance was distinguished from hull insurance in respect that it offered non-limited cover to shipowner member, but there was a serious debate between P & I Clubs in respect of the non-limited cover. A compromise by International Group of P & I Clubs eventually emerged under which, with effect from 20 February 1997, a financial cap was placed on the obligation of each shipowner to pay catasrophe calls to his club(20% of each ship's property limitation fund under 1976 Limitation Convention). Nevertheless many shipowners felt that this new cap on their potential catastrophe call had been set still too high, while others resisted any reduction in the figure established by the compromise. In the Meantime, the European Commission issued a Statement of Objections in June 1997, in which it indicated its objections with a compulsory single limit common th all the Group clubs as high as the 1997 compromise. Eventually the board of all the Group clubs decided that the figure of 20% of the Limitation Convention per ship property funds should be dropped down to 2.5% from 20 February 1999.
