변수연구를 통한 소수주형 PSC-I 거더 설계 (Design of PSC-I Bridge with Widely Spaced Girder based on Parametric Study)

  • Prestressed concrete I-girders were used in the bridge applications in the early 1950s. During the last four decades, the most widely used girder length of bridges have been below 30 meters. The main objective of this study is to develope the alternative section for widely spaced girder of 30 meters span bridge. Girder spacing, the number of strands and compressive strength of concrete are major parameters for widely spaced girders. The optimal girder spacing is determined through the parameter studies of design using widely spaced girders. 30m span bridges of widely girder spacing must use high-strength concrete. Although the basic unit cost of concrete is higher for high-strength concrete, it may be partially or even fully offset by reduced quantities of concrete as result of the smaller number of girders used. High-strength concrete girders have more prestressing strands per girder, but the total number of strands for all of the girders is less than that required for the larger number of normal-strength concrete girders. It could design PSC-I Birdge with widely spaced girder owing to high-strength concrete.

  • It is required efficient section shape like bulb-tee girders with high strength concrete to construct long span bridges economically. However, the trpical design method for PSC I-girders include bulb-tees, the concrete girder prestressed only one time at same time. But in this paper, new design method prestress increases as each load-stress stage. The incrementally prestressed concrete (IPC) girders can reduce the required area of grider section and extend span length by additional prestress. So it is able to construct long span bridges economically by using IPC girders.

Determination of minimum depth of prestressed concrete I-Girder bridge for different design truck

  • The depth of superstructure is the summation of the height of girders and the thickness of the deck floor. In this study, it is aim to determine the maximum span length of girders and minimum depth of the superstructure of prestressed concrete I-girder bridge. For this purpose the superstructure of the bridge with the width of 10m and the thickness of the deck floor of 0.175m, which the girders length was changed by two meter increments between 15m and 35m, was taken into account. Twelve different girders with heights of 60, 75, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170 and 180 cm, which are frequently used in Turkey, were chosen as girder type. The analyses of the superstructure of prestressed concrete I girder bridge was conducted with I-CAD software. In the analyses AASHTO LRFD (2012) conditions were taken into account a great extent. The dead loads of the structural and non-structural elements forming the bridge superstructure, prestressing force, standard truck load, equivalent lane load and pedestrian load were taken into consideration. HL93, design truck of AASHTO and also H30S24 design truck of Turkish Code were selected as vehicular live load. The allowable concrete stress limit, the number of prestressed strands, the number of debonded strands and the deflection parameters obtained from analyses were compared with the limit values found in AASHTO LRFD (2012) to determine the suitability of the girders. At the end of the study maximum span length of girders and equation using for calculation for minimum depth of the superstructure of prestressed concrete I-girder bridge were proposed.

균일한 휨모멘트가 작용하는 파형강판 복부판 I-거더의 횡-비틂 좌굴강도 평가 (Evaluation of Lateral-Torsional Buckling Strength of I-Girder with Corrugated Web under Uniform Bending)

  • 본 연구에서는 균일한 휨모멘트가 작용하는 파형강판 복부판 I-거더의 횡-비틂 좌굴강도에 관하여 이론적 접근 및 유한요소해석을 이용하여 연구를 수행하였다. 횡-비틂 좌굴 강도는 박판 구조를 갖는 I-단면의 휨부재를 설계 하는데 중요한 인자이다. 하지만 파형강판 복부판 I-거더의 뒴비틀림 상수와 같은 비틀림 거동에 대한 이해가 현재까지는 부족한 실정이며, 이에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 휨 및 순수 비틀림 상수를 기존 연구자들의 결과를 이용하여 요약하였으며, 그 후 파형강판 복부판 I-거더 단면의 전단 중심의 위치와 뒴비틀림 상수를 유도하였다. 이러한 단면 상수들을 이용하여 파형강판 복부판 I-거더의 횡-비틂 좌굴 강도를 결정하였으며, 유한요소해석을 수행하여 제안된 파형강판 복부판 I-거더의 횡-비틂 좌굴 강도를 검증하였다. 마지막으로 파형강판의 기하학적 제원이 횡-비틂 좌굴강도에 미치는 영향에 관하여 연구를 수행하였다.

Shear response of lean duplex stainless steel plate girders

  • Carbon steel plate girders have been used on a large scale in the building industry. Nowadays, Lean Duplex Stainless Steel (LDSS) plate girders are gaining popularity as they possess greater strength and are more impervious to corrosion than those that are constructed from carbon steel. Regardless of their popularity, there is very limited information with regards to their shear behavior. In this paper, the non-linear finite element analysis was employed to investigate the shear behavior of LDSS plate girders. Parameters considered were the web thickness, the flange width, and the girders aspect ratio. The analysis revealed that although the shear behavior of the LDSS girders was no different from that of carbon steel plate girders, it had obviously been affected by the non-linearity of the material. Furthermore, the selected parameters were found to pronounce effect on the shear capacity of the LDSS girders. That is, the shear capacity increased considerably with web thickness, and increased slightly with flange width. However, it was reduced as the aspect ratio increased. Comparisons between the finite element analysis failure loads and those predicted by the current European Code of Practice revealed that the latter underestimated the shear strength of the LDSS plate girders.

Repair of flange damage steel-concrete composite girders using CFRP sheets

  • Damaged steel-concrete composite girders can be repaired and retrofitted by epoxy-bonded carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets to the critical areas of tension flanges. This paper presents the results of a study on the behavior of damaged steel-concrete composite girders repaired with CFRP sheets under static loading. A total of seven composite girders made of I20A steel sections and 80mm-thick by 900mm-wide concrete slabs were prepared and tested. CFRP sheets and prestressed CFRP sheets were used to repair the specimens. The specimens lost the cross-sectional area of their tension flanges with 30%, 50% and 100%. The results showed that CFRP sheets had no significant effect on the yield loads of strengthened composite girders, but had significant effect on the ultimate loads. The yield loads, elastic stiffness, and ultimate bearing capacities of strengthened composite girders had been changed as a result of prestressed CFRP sheets, the utilization ratio of CFRP sheets could be effectively improved by applying prestress to CFRP sheets. Both the yield loads and ultimate bearing capacities had been changed as a result of steel beam's flange damage level and CFRP sheets could cover the girders' shortage of bearing capacity with 30% and 50% flange damage, respectively.

Designing method for fire safety of steel box bridge girders

  • This paper presents a designing method for enhancing fire resistance of steel box bridge girders (closed steel box bridge girder supporting a thin concrete slab) through taking into account such parameters namely; fire severity, type of longitudinal stiffeners (I, L, and T shaped), and number of longitudinal stiffeners. A validated 3-D finite element model, developed through the computer program ANSYS, is utilized to go over the fire response of a typical steel box bridge girder using the transient thermo-structural analysis method. Results from the numerical analysis show that fire severity and type of longitudinal stiffeners welded on bottom flange have significant influence on fire resistance of steel box bridge girders. T shaped longitudinal stiffeners applied on bottom flange can highly prevent collapse of steel box bridge girders towards the end of fire exposure. Increase of longitudinal stiffeners on bottom flange and web can slightly enhance fire resistance of steel box bridge girders. Rate of deflection-based criterion can be reliable to evaluate fire resistance of steel box bridge girders in most fire exposure cases. Thus, T shaped longitudinal stiffeners on bottom flange incorporated into bridge fire-resistance design can significantly enhance fire resistance of steel box bridge girders.

파형 복부판이 수평 곡선 I형 거더의 극한 거동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Corrugated Webs on the Ultimate Behavior of Horizontally Curved I-shaped Girders)

  • 본 논문은 파형 복부판이 수평 곡선 I형 거더의 극한 거동에 미치는 영향을 다룬다. 파형 복부판은 기하학적 특성에 따라 플레이트 거더의 비틂 및 뒴 강성 증진을 위해 적용이 가능하다. 그동안 파형 복부판이 일반 직선 거더의 극한 거동에 미치는 영향을 다룬 많은 연구들이 있었으나, 면외 방향 거동이 주요하게 나타나는 곡선 거더의 극한 거동에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않았다. 이 연구에서는 비탄성-비선형 해석을 통해 파형 복부판 수평 곡선 I형 거더의 극한 거동을 다룬다. 본 해석 연구에서는 파형 복부판을 갖는 곡선 거더의 극한 거동에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 기하학적 인자로써, 곡선 거더의 횡방향 비지지 길이와 사잇각, 복부판의 파고 및 파장이 주요 매개변수로 고려되었다. 본 해석 연구를 통해, 각 매개변수 변화에 따른 극한 거동 및 내하력 변화를 분석하고, 일반 판형 복부판이 적용된 거더의 내하력과 비교하여 파형 복부판이 내하력 증진에 미치는 영향을 도출하였다. 본 해석 결과에 따르면, 높은 비틂 및 뒴 강성에 의해 파형 복부판은 곡선 거더의 내하력 증진에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 곡선 거더의 곡률 또는 사잇각이 작은 경우, 파형 판의 아코디언 효과에 의해 오히려 내하력이 감소될 수 있다는 것 또한 나타났다.

PSC I 거더의 정착부 파열거동 평가 (Evaluation of Bursting Behavior in Anchorage Zone of PSC I Girders)

  • 이 논문에서는 경간장이 30 m인 표준 PSC I 거더의 정착부 거동을 평가하기 위한 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 현재 사용되고 있는 표준 PSC I 거더의 정착부 파열보강철근은 텐던 긴장으로 인한 단부 콘크리트의 응력흐름을 정확히 반영하지 못 한 채 설계되었고, 과대보강으로 인해 콘크리트 타설 시 작업성이 크게 떨어지고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 표준 PSC I 거더와 동일한 단면을 갖는 실험체 3개를 제작하여 인장실험을 수행하였다. 각 실험체의 파열보강철근은 100 mm, 200 mm, 300 mm 간격의 격자형으로 배근되었다. 실험결과, 파열균열 긴장력은 모든 실험체에서 설계 긴장력의 1.6배 내외로 나타났고, 파열균열은 정착단부 내부에서 수직방향으로 발생하였다. 또한 설계 긴장력의 2.7배까지 긴장력을 도입한 결과, 파열보강철근 간격이 300 mm인 실험체의 일부 수평방향 파열보강철근만 항복되었다. 따라서 표준 PSC I 거더의 정착부 파열보강철근은 도로교설계기준에서 제한하고 있는 최대 간격 300 mm를 만족시키는 것만으로도 파열력에 대한 안전성을 충분히 확보할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

2주형 판형교의 최적설계 (Optimization of Two Plate Girders Bridge)

  • Two plate girders bridge has an advantage for execution of works and quality control because of its simplicity of super-structure caused by decreasing in amount of members and also is distinguished as aesthetic bridge type. Recently this has been adopted for structure of highway as well railway and introduced into domestic. In order to plan or design two plate girders bridge more rationably, it is necessary to comprehend its structural behavior as well as to consider the critical resign factors. Thus, in this study the formulation of optimum design for two plate girders bridge is proposed and the critical resign variables ani restraints are considered and founded by caring out optimum design. The objective function of optimization is formulated as a minimum cost design problem. And the thickness and length of I-shaped section are decided as resign variables. The design constraints are formulated based on Design Criteria for Railroad(Bridges). By comparing the optimum results with those of the conventional resign, the effectiveness of proposed optimum design formulation is investigated. From the results, the way to do optimum design of two plate girders bridge is suggested.
