  • 본 연구의 목적은 디지털미디어환경에서 가독성을 높이는 앤티에일리어싱에 대한 고찰과 소프트웨어의 다른 기능과 함께 적용하여 보다 가독성을 높이는데 사용되고 있는 복합적인 앤티에일리어싱에 대한 사용 사례를 통해 가독성이 높은 표본을 개발하고 실험을 통해 가독성의 정도를 분석하는데 있다. 이 연구의 결과는 실무에서 제목용서체로 사용되고 있는 복합적인 앤티에일리어싱의 사용을 위한 가이드라인의 제시와 함께 향후 개발될 그래픽소프트웨어에서 가독성 구현을 위해 시도할 수 있는 새로운 분야에 대한 가능성을 제시하는데 있다.

제품군 디자인에서 공통속성의 활용이 사회적 효용에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Commonality Strategy in Product Line Design on Social Welfare)

  • Commonality strategy is a popular design practice in designing a product line as it enables the firm cost saving and simplification in design, manufacturing, and distribution processes. However the issue of commonality has been mostly analyzed from a profit maximizing firm's perspective and, to our knowledge, there is no literature that deals with the issue from a different perspective. in this paper, we consider the issue of commonality strategy from a social welfare maximization perspective, and argue that commonality strategy used in designing of public goods can bring certain benefits not just for a firm but also for consumers, i.e., for society as a whole. While we assume certain cost saving in production process due to economies of scale under commonality strategy, we conceptualize two different effects of commonality strategy, utility effect due to cost saving and weighted-averaging effect, and show how these two effects interplay to determine the design of common attribute and desirability of commonality strategy. We also discuss how the implementation of commonality strategy differs under different objectives of a product line designer : social welfare and firm's profit maximization.

  • HVAC transmission lines must be designed to satisfy environmental regulations. Therefore it is necessary to pre-evaluate environmental problems for transmission line designer using prediction program. In this study, environment design software, TLCALC 2001 for transmission lines was developed as a comprehensive window program. It has 6 modules that are audible noise, radio noise, television noise, magnetic field, electric field and conductor surface gradient. TLCALC 2001 solved a few problems in use of the existing foreign tools and took several advantages. Experienced designers can get the results of calculation within about 15 minutes. Because the use of TLCALC 2001 is easy and practical, this program will be usefully applied to the environmental friendly design and construction of HVAC transmission lines. In the future, it is expected that public complaints and social environmental cost will be reduced by the use of TLCALC 2001.

철골브레이스에 의한 기존 RC건축물의 강도상승형 내진보강을 위한 설계고려사항 (The design considerations of steel braced frame for seismic retrofit through increasing the lateral strength of existing RC buildings)

  • This paper deals with steel braced frame as increasing the lateral strength and ductility in order to seismic retrofit of existing buildings and discusses the designing criteria and calculation method of retrofitted buildings. The addition of steel braced frame can be effective for increasing the lateral strength and ductility of existing buildings. However, There is a problem in utilizing this method. It is the approach to provide an adequate connection between the existing RC frame and the installed steel braced frame, because global strength by failure mode(three type) depends on detail of connection and strength of existing RC frame. So, the designer must be confirmed if it satisfies the required performance or not. Failure mode of type I is the most appropriate for increasing the lateral strength and ductility. Seismic performance evaluation and strength calculation of seismic retrofit are performed by guideline by KISTEC(Korea Infrastructure Safety & Technology)'s "seismic performance evaluation and rehabilitation of existing buildings" and Japan Building Disaster Prevention Association. Buildings are modeled and non-linear pushover analysis are performed using MIDAS program.

차량 내 경고음의 인간공학적 설계에 관한 연구 (Ergonomic Design of Warning Sounds Used in Cars)

  • This study aims to design ergonomic warning sound that is not confusing and enhancing preference. Four factors of the warning sound represented as interval, chord, reverberation and pitch were selected as independent variables. And, perceived urgency, perceived criticality, degree of confusion and user preference are measured as dependent variables. An experiment was conducted in silent lab environment. Warning sounds were given in 90dB constantly to subjects through stereo speakers. A statistical analysis revealed that interval was significant for perceived urgency; also interval and chord were both effective for perceived criticality. Pitch, interval, chord and the interaction between pitch and chord were effective in degree of confusion, so were reverberation, the interaction between reverberation and pitch and the interaction between reverberation and chord for preference. This study characterized the situation under which warning sounds are required into three types in terms of urgency and criticality; and found the right warning sound that the subjects perceived to best represent the situation through the validation study. These findings are expected to help the designer choose the right warning sound according to the situational contexts in which such warning sounds are implemented.

집배원 유니폼 디자인 개발에 관한 연구 -2000년도 착용 유니폼을 중심으로- (A Study on the Uniform Design for Postmen)

  • Uniform is the dress of distinctive design or fashion worn by members of a particular group or serving as a means of identification. The postman's uniform of Ministry of Communication should be distinctive or characteristic clothing to provide high functionality and symbolization of job characteristics, cost effectiveness and esthetic. In order to design the postman's new uniform available in 2000, there has been a satisfaction survey to 1,116 postmen. A thorough analysis of survey and informal and face-to-face discussion with postmen give the direction of design concept. One of the most important things in the design concept is to make the uniform high quality & refinement. The style is a refined jumper suit in consideration of form stability, wearing satisfaction, convenience in activity. The basic colors selected are navy and medium gray. The colors of jumper are MOC red ; C.I color Green : a representative color of youth, white : a symbolic color of bright future. All three colors are plaid on a basic nary color. In the selection of the textile, synthetic fiber (Polyester 65%, rayon 35%) equipped with UV cutting as well as water resistance etc. was recommended. In the uniform design process, the effective communication with user (postman) is critical to find the requirements and needs of uniform user (postman). Also. the uniform designer should reflect the above four key factors in design development. Therefore, the uniform should provide the user with high job performance and job pride in wearing the uniform.

21세기패션에 나타난 에스닉 이미지 -한국.중국.일본을 중심으로- (Ethnic Image Characteristics Expressed in $21^{st}$Century Fashion - Focusing on Korea, China, and Japan -)

  • The ethnic image in modern fashion can be interpreted as a trend of post-modernism, which appeared after modernism's established style. It has relativity, pluralism and variety, and it tries to revive style of the past. This makes style that borrows and combines image and style of different era and culture as distinctive feature, and in turn is expressed by a new image that is combined with the country's clothes. Also, thanks to the customers who are tired of artificiality and convenience, gift of modern science and technology, simple and natural sensitive marketing and being 'raw' are getting popular as new trend. Today's ethnic image is not merely borrowing visual, superficial image of culture and clothes of other ethnic group, but pursuing natural as purely created by human senses rather than being polished. In terms of ethnic image's formative beauty and aesthetic value, foreign and domestic collections are compared. But for domestic image, only Korean ones are researched, and for foreign designer's fashion image, there are ethnic styles of Japan, China and Korea. Although the documents of domestic designers that I investigated is not sufficient, canonic simple being of oriental image that is seen by the westerners is summarized.

마인드 맵을 이용한 제품디자인 컨셉의 이미지화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Imagination of Product Design Concept by Mind Map)

  • 현대와 같은 정보화사회를 살아가는 우리들에게는 무순서, 다차원적으로 각종의 정보를 수없이 접하게 되는데, 이러한 수많은 정보를 보다 체계적으로 정리하고 활용하는 능력이 요구되고 있다. 일반적으로 인간의 두뇌는 고유의 특성을 가지고 사실을 지각하고 정보를 인지함에 있어서 받아들인 정보를 이미지로 형상화하였을 때 의미의 전달에 있어서 보다 큰 효과를 가져올 수 있는데, 이는 외부정보를 받아들이고 자신의 생각을 표현하는데 있어서 핵심 키워드의 추출과 이들 키워드의 상관관계를 얼마나 체계화하고 이해하기 쉽게 표현하느냐에 따라 결정되어 진다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 창의성을 전제로 한 제품디자이너가 다양한 정보를 토대로 방사사고를 갖고 디자인 컨셉을 추출하는 과정에서 나타나는 핵심 키워드들을 마인드 맵을 이용하여 논리적으로 구조화하고, 이미화 하는 방법을 연구하여 컨셉을 좀더 쉽게 정리하고 시각화하여 의미의 전달을 용이하게 하는데 그 목적이 있으며, 사례연구를 통하여 이해를 돕고자 하였다.

플레어스커트의 시각적 평가를 위한 의미미분척도 개발 (A Study on Development of Semantic Differential Scales for Visual Evaluation of Flare Skirt)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop semantic differential scales which are necessary to evaluate visual image and effect of flare skirt. As a result of the first survey of 362 female college students, the most effective factors for shape of flare skirt are silhouette, volume of flare, and skirt length. Based on this result, we made flare skirt simulation for visual evaluation with using I-Designer program. 4 kinds of volume of flare($90^{\circ},\;180^{\circ},\;270^{\circ},\;360^{\circ}$) and 3 kinds of skirt length(48cm, 58cm, 68cm) are combined as variables for flare skirt of visual evaluation. For the second survey of 362 female college students, we asked to write suggested adjectives freely. As a result, we could draw out 210 adjectives. 'Feminine' was most frequently used word for flare skirt, and then, 'vivid', 'rhythmic', 'cute', 'soft', 'fat', and 'comfortable' in this order. With considering frequently used words in the preceding study, we selected 41 adjectives. Antonyms were selected from the resulted frequency of this study and preceding study, and the rest of words were found from dictionary. From these process, we developed semantic differential scales for visual image and effect of flare skirt.

  • In order to promptly cope with the various requirements of consumers, the environment of product development is being globalized in manufacturing industrials. For this reason, it is necessary to build up an efficient collaborative system for communication between remote area designers. Specially, while Internet and information technologies were merged with the manufacturing or business process, the research for collaborative system has become an important issue. Therefore, we propose a Web-based Engineering Collaboration Framework using SPS(SharePoint Portal Server) which is an enterprise business solution that integrates information from various system into one solution through single sign-on and enterprise application integration capabilities, with flexible deployment options and management tool. Through a Web-based Engineering Collaboration Framework, designers can exchange design information and have a conference in remote area designers or designer teams for alternative designs
