Epidemiological analysis of Escherichia coli O157 : H7 by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis and multiplex polymerase chain reaction

  • Twenty three strains of Escherichia (E) coli O157 : H7 isolated from Korea, Japan, USA were analyzed by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) of XbaI-digested chromosomal DNA and multiplex polymerase chain reaction. Various PFGE patterns of E. coli O157 : H7 were found on the same farm. Most of the E, coli O157 : H7 strains had shiga-like toxin (slt) II gene only (43.5%) or both slt I and slt II genes(30.4%). eaeA gene was highly conserved in the E. coli O157 : H7. There was no correlation between PFGE and slt gene patterns. The results indicate that various genotypes of E. coli O157 : H7 have spread throughout the country and genomic DNA patterns generated by PFGE are highly specific for different strains and have significant value in epidemiologic investigations of infectious disease outbreaks.

  • For the design of welded bogie frame, the concept of multidisciplinary engineering activities, i.e. static, fatigue and dynamic analysis, has been applied, in which the sharing of design parameters related with each analysis and the collaboration of the working parts in charge should be fulfilled. However, in spite of these necessities, the multi-disciplinary engineering activities couldn't be performed in practice due to tack of the automation of the required analysis. In this paper, an automation of fatigue durability analysis of welded bogie frame according to UIC-Code was proposed by using the Model Center, which enables to integrate the several tools for the fatigue durability analysis, i.e. I-DEAS, ANSYS and BFAP, and to perform iterative analysis works in relation to the geometrical change of transom support bracket. Besides, the wrapping programs to control I/O-data and interfaces of these tools were developed. The developed automation technique brings not only significant decreasing man-hour required in the durability analysis, but also providing a platform of the multidisciplinary engineering activities.

풍력발전용 링플랜지의 유도가열 해석 (Analysis on Induction Heating of Ring Flange for Wind Power)

  • This paper presents an analysis on the induction heating of ring flange for wind farm. Ring flange is used for the connection of poles when building a column of wind power plant. Heat treatment of ring flange with the diameter of ${\O}1,000mm$ has been considered. For analysis on the induction heating, FEA is used. Firstly, electromagnetic filed analysis was performed to get the induction current distribution on the steel, After that, heat transfer analysis was performed using the magnetic filed analysis results. for more precise analysis, some measurement for permeability has been performed and the measurement data was used during the analysis. From the analysis, we get the temperature distribution on the ring flange.

광주.전남지역 목조 고건축물에 사용된 단청안료에 대한 연구 (A Study on Dancheong Pigments of Old Wooden Building in Gwangju and Jeonnam, Korea)

  • 우리는 단청안료의 착색제에 대한 특성을 살펴보았고, 이번 연구가 우리 전통 단청의 색을 재현하는데 기여하길 바란다. 광주 전남지역 목조 고건축물에서 자연적으로 박리가 일어난 부분의 단청안료 시료를 채취하고, 이를 XRD와 EDS-SEM분석을 이용하여 착색제를 분석하였다. 백색안료에서는 고대부터 착색제로 사용되어온 석고$(CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_{2}O)$,석영$(SiO_2)$, 백연석$(PbCO_3)$ 및 호분$(CaCO_3)$과 현대에서 많이 사용되는 산화지당$(TiO_2)$이 모든 시료에서 확인되었다. 적색안료에서는 고대부터 착색제로 사용된 석간주$(Fe_{2}O_{3})$와 연단$(Pb_{3}O_{4})$ 및 현대안료 착색제인 C. I. pigment orange $13(C_{32}H_{24}C_{12}N_{8}O_{2})$이 확인 되었지만, 진사(cinnabar, HgS)는 관찰되지 않았다. 황색안료에서는 납을 주성분으로 하는 황연인 홍연석$(PbCrO_4)$과 고대부터 사용된 밀타승(PbO)이 확인되었다. 청색안료에서는 착색제인 소달라이트 $(Na_{4}BeAlSi_{4}O_{12}Cl)$와 노제안$(Na_{8}Al_{6}Si_{6}O_{24}SO_{4})$이 확인되었으며, 현대안료 착색제인 C. I. pigment blue $29(Na_{7}Al_{6}Si_{6}O_{24}S_{3})$ 도 확인되었다. 녹색안료에서는 착색제로 카루머타이트(calumetite, $Cu(OHCI)_{2}{\cdot}2H_{2}O$), 에스콜라이트$(Cr_{2}O_{3})$, 디크롬트리옥사이드(dichromium trioxide, $Cr_{2}O_{3}$), 에머랄드그린$(C_{2}H_{3}As_{3}Cu_{2}O_{8})$ 및 현대안료 착색제인 C. I. pigment green$(C_{32}H_{16}-XCl_{x}Cu_{8})$이 확인되었다. 흑색안료에서는 먹(송연)이 확인 되었다.

희석 파라미터법에 의한 철광석 중 철과 티탄의 X-선 형광분석 (X-Ray Fluorescence Analysis of Iron and Titanium in Iron Ores by Dilution Parameter Method)

  • 철광석 중에서 주성분 원소들인 철과 티탄올 희석 파라미터법(dilution parameter method)을 이용한 X-선 형광분석법으로 분석하였다. 조성이 비슷한 표준시료와 분석시료 각각에 적당한 희석제($ZrO_2$)를 가하여 적당한 비율 (1:1, 1:2등)로 희석시켜서 원하는 원소의 형광 X-선 세기를 측정하여 다음 식으로 희석 파라미터를 구한다.$Pa=\frac{\frac{I_{as}}{(I_{as})_d}}{D-1}{^{-1}}$이들 파라미터를 이용하여 표준시료와 분석시료의 matrix effect 차이를 보정하여 표준검량선 없이 정량 분석하였다.$W_a=W_a^*{\cdot}{\frac{I_as}{I_{as}^*}{\cdot}\frac{P_a^*}{P_a}$여기서, *는 표준시료를 표시한다. 분석결과는 습식법으로 정량한 값들과 잘 일치하고 재현성도 좋음을 보여주었다.

  • In this study, $Al_2O_3/MgO$ bilayer was prepared with Electron-beam evaporation and the properties of the film was investigated in order to improve the property of MgO film, which is used for the protection layer in PDP(P1asma Display Panel). The thickness of $Al_2O_3/MgO$ bilayer was optimized by the Matrix Theory for the fabrication of antireflection structure for 5350A wavelength. The secondary electron emission yields of as-deposited film and annealed film were measured and compared, the bilayer was considered for the applicability as PDP. XRD showed the strong (200) primary peak of MgO. The intensity of (200) peak in the film annealed at 300C was decreased. As the result of SEM analysis for MgO films and Alz03 films, it is considered that the morphology of the films were improved of roughness and it were condensed by annealing.

이중구조를 갖는 제어시스템의 구현과 신뢰도 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Implementation of a Control System with Dual Structure and Its Reliability Analysis)

  • In this paper, a reliable control system structured with dual CPU modules and dual I/O modules is implemented as a means of achieving a highly reliable fault tolerant control system. For this, faults in the system modules are first examined, and a fault detection technique consisting of self diagnostic, comparison process, and exception processing is applied. Self diagnostic is used to locate which components in the modules have been failed, while comparison process is to cmpare control outputs computed by both CPU modules and protect the plant from malfunction by blocking failed control outputsin advance. Finally exception processing is used to determine the faults that are not detected immediately by the self diagnostic and comparison process, e.g. bus error processing when acknowledge signal for data transfer is not activeted in the I/O modules. Also reliability analysis is conducted for the discrete time Markov model with dual structure. It is shown quantitatively that the reliability is improved in the control system with dual structure in comparison with a system with single module structure.

  • This paper presents the development of event-driven system level simulation tool SMPLE(Smpl Extende, an extention fo smpl) and its application to the performance analysis of multiprocessor computer systems. Because of its data structure, it is very difficult to change, expand or add new functions to simulation language smpl implemented by MacDougall. In SMPLE, we change data structure with structure and pointer, add new functions, and enable dynamic memory management. Using new data structure, facilities, and functions added in SMPLE, we simulate job processing of a shared bus multiprocessor system with autonomous hierarchical I/O subsystem. We set system performance contribution of subsystems and units. The impact of disk I/O on system performance is evaluated under vairous conditions of number of processors, processing power, memory access time and disk seek time.

다중 전송률을 지원하는 VSG-CDMA 역방향 링크 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of VSG-CDMA Supporting Multi-Rate Date Service in the Reverse Link)

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티 미디어 서비스를 지원하는 VSG-CDMA 시스템의 역방향 링크 용량을 전력 제어와 사용자 분포에 따라 두 모델로 가정하여 해석적으로 분석한다. 분석 모델 I은 완벽한 전력제어와 사용자의 균일 분포로 가정하여 블록킹 확률식을 계산하고 1 %의 블록킹 확률에 일치하는 최대 음성과 데이터 사용자수를 산출한다. 분석 모델 II은 전력제어오차와 사용자의 비균일(셀 경계 부분에 위치)분포로 가정하여 분석한다. 모델 I의 분석 결과는 5 MHz의 광대역 VSG-CDMA 시스템 용량의 상한선(upper bound)이며 모델 II의 분석 결과는 시스템 용량의 하한선(lower bound)을 제시한다. 또한 모델 II에서 데이터 활동율과E$_{b}$/N$_{o}$ 값에 따른 사용자 용량을 분석하여 VSG-CDMA 시스템의 성능 개선 방안을 제안한다.

은이 코팅된 Copper(I) Oxide 나노 입자 및 도전성 페이스트의 제조 특성 (Fabrication and Characterization of Silver Copper(I) Oxide Nanoparticles for a Conductive Paste)

  • This study investigates Ag coated $Cu_2O$ nanoparticles that are produced with a changing molar ratio of Ag and $Cu_2O$. The results of XRD analysis reveal that each nanoparticle has a diffraction pattern peculiar to Ag and $Cu_2O$ determination, and SEM image analysis confirms that Ag is partially coated on the surface of $Cu_2O$ nanoparticles. The conductive paste with Ag coated $Cu_2O$ nanoparticles approaches the specific resistance of $6.4{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ for silver paste(SP) as $(Ag)/(Cu_2O)$ the molar ratio increases. The paste(containing 70 % content and average a 100 nm particle size for the silver nanoparticles) for commercial use for mounting with a fine line width of $100{\mu}m$ or less has a surface resistance of 5 to $20{\mu}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$, while in this research an Ag coated $Cu_2O$ paste has a larger surface resistance, which is disadvantageous. Its performance deteriorates as a material required for application of a fine line width electrode for a touch panel. A touch panel module that utilizes a nano imprinting technique of $10{\mu}m$ or less is expected to be used as an electrode material for electric and electronic parts where large precision(mounting with fine line width) is not required.
