고전압 전력기기 개발을 위한 기중 임펄스절연파괴특성에 관한 연구 (Experimental study on the lightning impulse breakdown characteristics of air for the development of air-insulated high voltage apparatuses)

  • To develop electrically reliable high voltage apparatuses, the experimental study on the electrical breakdown field strength is needed, as well as theoretical approach. In this paper, lightning impulse breakdown characteristics considering utilization factors are investigated for the establishment of insulation design criteria of an high voltage apparatus. The utilization factors are represented as the ratio of mean electric field to maximum electric field. Dielectric experiments are performed by using five kinds of sphere-plane electrode systems made of stainless steel. As a result, it is found that dielectric characteristics are affected by not only gap length but also utilization factor of electrode systems. The results are expected to be applicable to the design of high voltage apparatuses.

  • In this paper, we will introduce how we utilize 3D design model information at factory automation field with welding robot OLP system which is in using at out shipyard. At this area, so far, most of design information is used in NC data generation for steel cutting, but we can utilize 3D model information at more wide and complex area likes robot welding. Moreover, OpenGL which is a graphic library can be possible to verify robot NC data is correct or not through 3D simulation even if some one is not a expert at robot handling.

멤브레인 LNG 운반선용 스카폴딩 시스템의 자동 설계 프로그램 개발 (Development of the Automatic Design Program for Scaffolding System of the Membrane LNG Carrier)

  • Scaffolding system in the membrane LNG carrier is a steel structure composed of various pipe-shaped members connected by specific coupling devices. In this study, the automatic design program for scaffolding system in membrane LNG carrier has been developed. It enables user to arrange members easily considering design constraints and input variables such as size of tank, position of legs, level height and so on. In addition to that, it creates finite element analysis model with loading and boundary conditions automatically and carries out structural analysis. With post processor based a state-of-the-art computer graphics, users can easily check the results of structural analysis and make a report for structural safety of scaffolding system.

  • The front 2 pieces of the 3-piece steel propeller shaft installed on a 8.5-ton truck were redesigned with a 1 -piece composite propeller shaft with steel yokes and spline parts to get the reduction of weight and the improvement of NVH characteristics. Based on the analysis of bending vibration, strength and cure-induced residual stresses of the composite propeller shaft, proper composite materials and stacking sequences were selected. The composite propeller shaft requires a reliable joining method between the shaft and steel end parts through a steel connector. From 3-D contact stress analyses of the laminated composite shaft with bolted Joints, the 3-row mechanical joint which satisfies the torque transmission capability has been designed. Several full-scale composite shafts were fabricated and tested to verify the design analyses. The design requirements are shown to be satisfied. With the newly designed composite shaft, the weight reduction more than 50% and improvements in NVH characteristics have been achieved.

  • This paper is concerned with the energy absorption efficiency of auto-body side structures for the conventional steel and 60TRIP high strength steel. In order to evaluate the energy absorption efficiency, the dynamic crash analysis is carried out with the regulation of US-SINCAP. The analysis adopts the Johnson-Cook model for the dynamic material properties, which have been obtained from dynamic material tests. For the sake of the dynamic material properties, the analysis has been accurately peformed for the crashworthiness assesment. The analysis result provides deformed shapes, amounts of penetration and accelerations at several important points during crash. The result confirms that 60TRIP greatly improves the crashworthiness of the side members without sacrificing the weight and thus can be used for the light-weight design of an auto-body.

  • Tensile tests are widely used for evaluating mechanical properties of materials including flow curves as well as Young's modulus, yield strength, tensile strength, and yield point elongation. This research aims at analyzing the plastic flow behavior of high strength steels for automotive bodies using the finite element method in conjunction with the viscoplastic model considering the yield point elongation phenomenon. The plastic flow behavior of the high strength steel was successfully predicted, by considering an operating deformation mechanism, in terms of normalization dislocation density, and strain hardening and accumulative damage of high strength steel using the modified constitutive model. In addition, the finite element method is employed to track the properties of the high strength steel pertaining to the deformation histories in a skin pass mill process.

  • The laser strengthening of 35kgf/㎟ and 60kgf/㎟ grade steel sheets is investigated by using CO$_2$ laser beam irradiation. The increase of tensile strength is dominated by the number of fully penetrated melting line. Also. the optimal laser input energy(hardness) and the number of melting line (melting width) are important variables for laser strengthening. Local strengthening by laser beam may be effective for the weight reduction of components where the tailored welded blank can not be applied.

고장력강 용접부에 대한 내구수명 예측 방법 연구 (Study on Fatigue Characteristics of High-Strength Steel Welds)

  • 차량 경량화가 진행되고 있는 요즈음 상용차의 프레임이나 데크를 일반강에서 고장력강으로 대체하고 있는 상황이다. 일반강의 용접부 내구 특성에 대한 연구는 지금까지 많이 이루어졌으나 고장력강 용접부에 대한 연구는 거의 진행되지 않았다. 본 연구에선 첫째, 상용차량에 적합한 용접부 내구를 예측 기법을 찾기 위해 다수의 접근법을 검토해 보았으며 노치계수 접근법인 Radaj 방법을 선택하였다. 둘째, 오버랩 조인트와 T 조인트 용접시편을 이용한 내구시험을 통해서 F-N 선도를 얻었으며, 이 값을 활용하여 HARDOX, ATOS60 재질에 대한 S-N 선도를 추출할 수 있었다. 셋째, 노치계수 접근법을 사용하여 시편 시험으로 얻어진 F-N 선도를 활용하여 고장력강 용접부의 일반적인 S-N 선도를 구할 수 있었다. 넷째, 연구를 통해 얻어진 고장력강 용접부의 내구특성을 상용내구해석 프로그램에 적용하였다. 마지막으로 해석사례를 통해 시험과 해석결과를 비교하였으며, 신뢰할만한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Recent issues in the automotive industries are, improvement of fuel efficiency according to the worldwide $CO_2$ regulation, passenger safety through enhanced crashworthiness, superior design and cost reduction due to price fluctuation of raw material. To meet these demands, steelmaking companies are developing advanced high strength steel and new process technologies such as hydroforming, TWB(Tailor Welded Blank), hot stamping and so on. In addition, eco-friendly and high corrosion resistant coating technologies are getting more attention to comply with the environmental regulations. In this paper, reviews and prospects of recent coating technologies for automotive use are presented.
