A low complexity encoding scheme for coarse grain scalability is proposed. The proposed method exploits the statistics of residuals between current and reference blocks using the macroblock mode predicted from the previous quality layer. To test how the mode is optimal in the current layer, the statistical hypothesis testing for the variances of the residual sub-blocks is performed. The proposed method reduces the total encoding time up to 51% when three CGS scalability layers are encoded. However, the quality degradation and bit-rate increment of the each layer are negligible.

A leak detection method for diagnosis of the leak position in a pipeline was developed using an estimation theory with the assumption that the measured flow rates and pressures are stochastic processes. A notch filter was designed using power spectral density analysis of measurements to reduce the effects of disturbances. The noise model dimension was determined by hypothesis testing and then recursive extended least square method was applied to estimate the leak position in real time. The proposed method was applied to an experimental system for evaluation of its performance.

Malkovich & Afifi (1973)는 합교원리 (union-intersection principle)를 이용하여 왜도와 첨도를 다변량으로 일반화하였으나 이는 자료의 차원이 클 경우에는 사용이 용이하지 않다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 보완하는 이들의 근사통계량을 제안한다. 그리고 제안된 근사통계량, Malkovich & Afifi (1973)의 통 계 량, Mardia(1970)의 왜도와 첨도의 검 정력을 모의실험을 통하여 비교한다.

Internet has begun various transformation and innovation in terms of society, culture and industry. Today, Social Network Service(SNS) is an exceedingly popular and useful tool for making human relationships. Previous studies related to SNS, which based on Technology Acceptance Model(TAM), were focused on user acceptance of new technology. However, they had the limitations to focus on technology acceptance, without the consideration of the cognitive factors in using SNS. This study examined how the main factors of intention to use of SNS continuously affect perceived usefulness and ease of use through familiarity, self-expression, hedonic shopping value, utilitarian shopping value and personal relationship. The results of hypothesis testing showed that familiarity, self-expression, hedonic shopping value and personal relationship have some positive impacts on the perceived usefulness and ease of use. The practical contribution of this study is to suggest useful decision alternatives concerned to marketing strategies for acquiring and retaining long-term customers related to SNS business.

본 논문에서는 부사용자들의 공간 다이버시티를 이용한 협력 스펙트럼 센싱 기법을 제안한다. 우리의 기법에서는 부사용자가 다른 부사용자들로부터 신호를 받아 주사용자의 존재 여부에 대한 측정을 한다. 우리는 모의 실험 결과를 통해 부사용자의 수가 증가할수록 발견 실패 확률의 다이버시티 오더가 증가함을 알 수 있다.

This study is focused on the causal relationship between children's intimate behavior and the level of perception towards their grandparents. Their perceptions are related to factors such as proximity, similarity, superiority, favorableness, and self-disclosure. We clarified the relation between intimate behavior and perception using effect factors of children's behavior regarding their grandparents so that this study could be used as an elementary material in developing a solution to improve grandparent-grandchild relationship where the grandparent actively encourages grandchildren's intimate behavior. Regression analysis was used as a hypothesis testing method. The results indicated the following three points. First, perception factors affect active intimate behavior in the order of favorableness, superiority, self-disclosure, and similarity. Second, perception factors affect intimate behavior will in the order of favorableness, superiority, and self-disclosure. Lastly, it was shown that a child's active intimate behavior has an influence on their intimate behavior will.

Testing for normality has always been a center of practical and theoretical interest in statistical research. In this paper a test statistic for bivariate normality is proposed. The underlying idea is to investigate all the possible linear combinations that reduce to the standard normal distribution under the null hypothesis and compare the order statistics of them with the theoretical normal quantiles. The suggested statistic is invariant with respect to nonsingular matrix multiplication and vector addition. We show that the limit distribution of an approximation to the suggested statistic is represented as the supremum over an index set of the integral of a suitable Gaussian Process. We also simulate the null distribution of the statistic and give some critical values of the distribution and power results.

The number of neutron signals from a neutral particle beam(NPB) at the detector, without any errors, obeys Poisson distribution, Under two assumptions that NPB scattering distribution and aiming errors have a circular Gaussian distribution respectively, an exact probability distribution of signals becomes a Poisson-power function distribution. In this paper, we show that the error rate in simple hypothesis testing for the limiting Poisson-power function distribution is not zero. That is, the limit of ${\alpha}+{\beta}$ is zero when Poisson parameter$\kappa\rightarro\infty$, but this limit is not zero (i.e., $\rho\ell$>0)for the Poisson-power function distribution. We also give optimal decision algorithms for a specified error rate.

본 연구에서는 이표본 구간 자료의 확률적 순서 검정 절차를 제안한다. 제안하는 검정 통계량은 U-통계량에 해당하며 본 연구에서는 이에 대한 점근적 분포를 귀무 가설 하에서 유도하였다. 실제 자료와 모의 실험을 통해 새로 제안한 방법의 성능을 단측 이변량 Kolmogorov-Smirnov 검정법과 비교한다.

본 논문에서는 $\kappa$-표본 문제에서 우산형 위치-척도 대립가설에 대한 순위검정법들을 연구하였다. 위치모수와 척도모수의 변동에 민감한 순위점수에 기초한 검정통계량들을 제안하였다. 우산형 대립가설의 정점이 알려진 경우를 다루었으며 귀무가설과 대립가설하에서의 점근성질도 아울러 조사되었다. 모수들간의 간격이 같지않는 우산형 위치-척도모형에서 Chen-Wolfe의 동위회귀 추정량을 이용한 순위통계량에 의존한 검정법이 효율적이었으며 또한 아주 안정적이었다.
