  • In this study, turbulent flows in a grooved channel are numerically investigated by Large Eddy Simulation (LES). Especially, a parametric study is carried out to study effects of length and depth of a groove on large-scale flow structures. For one test case, comparison of LES results with those of DNS reveals a good agreement even though the number of grid points of LES is only 6.5% of that of DNS. This confirms that LES is a suitable tool for a parametric study of turbulent flows. The subsequent parametric study using LES shows that the large-scale turbulent structures are significantly affected by the geometry of the groove. Especially, when the length of the groove is short such that the recirculation region occupies the entire groove, the turbulent flow in the groove becomes very weak in both mean and fluctuation quantities.

  • This paper is concerned with the propram of the automatic mesh generation for 2-dimensional domain which contains the curved boundaries and holes. This program treats a new vertical-line drawing method. This method starts with 4-subdivisions of problem domain and the classification of the cross points of grid lines and boundaries. The new node is generated by the vertical line to the line connecting the two intersections of a boundary and two grid lines in gereral. And the node very close to the boundary is moved to the boundary. The automatic mesh generation composed of only rectangular elements is achieved by this procedure. The boundaries are piecewise-curves composed of lines, circles, arcs, and free curves. The free curves are generated by B-Spline form. Although there were some bad elements for the complex boundary, it was possible to obtain the acceptible rectangular elements for the given boundaries.

  • The Comprehensive Measures for a soft landing of Household Debts affecting the credit service of Fisheries Cooperative (FC) have been known to the public in June 2011. Its essential points are as follows: 1) Abolition of Tax-free Regulation, 2) Set limit of loans, etc. per person, 3) Introduce leverage regulations for credit-specialized financial sector i. e. FC, 4) Gradually strengthen loan-loss reserve requirements for card-loan and other credit loans. However, the Financial Policy Measures seem to pay no attention to the Cooperative's Values, Principles and Identity. In this paper, emphasis is be placed on the task of the regulators i. e. Financial Services Commission and Financial Supervice Service to lift the Financial Measures negatively affecting the operation of fund of FCs, and on the establishment of Cooperative identity in order to further develop FCs.

  • A study on digital processes of injection mold in reverse engineering are presented. Reverse engineering is useful fur several cases, where user has no geometry information of object. Laser scanner is used to obtaining 3D coordinates of object. Sequences to process cloud data are described; sampling to reduce number of points, sorting to adjust the point order, and fitting to curve and surface, and so on. Split slide structure of mold is used fur undercut part and high viscosity material. Flow of injection molding are analysed to correct cooling channel and simulate molding conditions. NC tool paths are generated to carve core and cavity. The processes are performed in digital data for reduction of lead time and consecutive geometry data.

  • In this paper, two automatic mesh generation algorithms are presented. The methods seek to optimize mesh density with regard to geometries exhibiting both fine and coarse physical structures. When generating meshes, the algorithms attempt to satisfy the conditions on the maximum mesh spacing and the maximum grading ratio simultaneously. Both algorithms successfully produce non-uniform meshes that satisfy the requirements for finite-difference time-domain simulations of microwave components. Additionally, an algorithm successfully generates a minimum number of grid points while maintaining the simulation accuracy.

  • In this paper, a unified design environment is developed for the optimization of electric machines based on continuum sensitivity. For electromagnetic (EM) system analysis, COMSOL scripting environment is used. Optimization module is developed by MATLAB programming, which can be combined with COMSOL script commands. The modules are combined into one MATLAB project, and iteration process necessary for the optimization of EM system can be performed efficiently. During the design process, visual feedback of the current design status is given to the designer. In addition, the B-Spline parametrization of the nodal points is implemented to obtain smooth boundary of the device. The developed software is applied to the problem of finding uniform flux density distribution at the air gap of an electromagnet to verify its feasibility and effectiveness.

  • Lingshu, discusses acupuncture therapy in great detail. And there are many aspects in the book devoted to acupuncture, especially acupuncture description is rather and more organized. The book establishes the theory of meridians which explains the roots of meridians in details, and points out the location of acupoints and describes the standard of how to locates acupoints, sets forth nine kinds of needles and their uses. It lays thetheoretical foundation of Korean Medicine. This article could help improve the understanding of the blood-letting therapy in "Lingshu" and also paves the way for applying the therapy to treatment of the various diseases.

  • This thesis complemented the weak points that the existing theses did not represented a phase characteristic as the equivalent circuit by applying 4-port simulation to DGS (Defected Ground Structure) characteristic and an equivalent circuit, which are the transmission line structure that has the defect made in the ground surface. We used a distribute device and a lumped device, obtained the equivalent circuit by applying the structure of balun to a discontinuous part. An indicated DGS (Defected Ground structure) is a dumbbells-shaped single defect, we indicated satisfying a magnitude and phase characteristics by applying this equivalent circuit.

  • The decoding process of a quasi-cyclic low-density parity check code requires a unique type of rotator. These rotators, called multi-size cyclic-shifters (MSCSs), rotate input data with various sizes, where the size is the amount of data to be rotated. This paper proposes a low-complexity MSCS structure for the case when the sizes have a nontrivial common divisor. By combining the strong points of two previous structures, the proposed structure achieves the smallest area. The experimental results show that the area reduction was more than 14.7% when the proposed structure was applied to IEEE 802.16e as an example.

  • Many studies for measuring vibration using image signal are suggested. These methods can measure vibration of multi-points simultaneously. However, it has the disadvantage that is very sensitive to an environment. If the measured environment is not good, image signals can be measured including much background noise. So, it is difficult to obtain accurate vibration from the measured image signals. Another problem is that camera imaging has a resolution limit. Because the resolution of the camera image is relatively much lower than that of a data acquisition system, accurate measuring vibration cannot be performed. In this paper, we proposed the enhanced technique for measuring vibration using camera signal. The key word of this paper is a curve fitting. The curve fitting can exactly detect the measurement line of interested object. So, we can measure the vibration in noisy environment. Also, it can overcome the resolution limit.
