발전기 고정자 권선에 사용되는 마이카/에폭시 복합재료의 기계적 특성에 관한 연구 (Mechanical Properties of Mica/Epoxy Composite Materials used in Genrator Stator Windings)

  • Experiments on mechanical fatigue were conducted using the specimens which were cut from hydrogen cooled generator(rated 22kV and 50OMW) stator windings. We have investigated the aged mechanism of mica/epoxy insulation systems under air or hydrogen by both the tensile and compressive loadings. The fracture of generator stator windings is generally affected by mechanical stress. Thus, the tensile strength test were conducted. In this case, the maximum strength and strain are quite different between sound and aged specimens. It is observed that low bonded interface parts of tapes generally have lower strength than those of normal tapes which causes stress. In order to estimate the effects of cyclic load by the electromagnetic forces while the generator starts/stops, the mechanical fatigue test was also conducted. It is confirmed that the equation of expected life depends on stress amplitude and number of cycles. Though the stress amplitude and number of cycles are very tiny, the tensile fatigue of aged specimens under hydrogen atmosphere is bigger than those under air. In the case of hydrogen atmosphere, the tensile stress gives bigger effect than the compressive one.

Fundamental evaluation of hydrogen behavior in sodium for sodium-water reaction detection of sodium-cooled fast reactor

  • In a secondary cooling system of a sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR), rapid detection of hydrogen due to sodium-water reaction (SWR) caused by water leakage from a heat exchanger tube of a steam generator (SG) is important in terms of safety and property protection of the SFR. For hydrogen detection, the hydrogen detectors using atomic transmission phenomenon of hydrogen within Ni-membrane were used in Japanese proto-type SFR "Monju". However, during the plant operation, detection signals of water leakage were observed even in the situation without SWR concerning temperature up and down in the cooling system. For this reason, the study of a new hydrogen detector has been carried out to improve stability, accuracy and reliability. In this research, the authors focus on the difference in composition of hydrogen and the difference between the background hydrogen under normal plant operation and the one generated by SWR and theoretically estimate the hydrogen behavior in liquid sodium by using ultra-accelerated quantum chemical molecular dynamics (UA-QCMD). Based on the estimation, dissolved H or NaH, rather than molecular hydrogen (H2), is the predominant form of the background hydrogen in liquid sodium in terms of energetical stability. On the other hand, it was found that hydrogen molecules produced by the sodium-water reaction can exist stably as a form of a fine bubble concerning some confinement mechanism such as a NaH layer on their surface. At the same time, we observed experimentally that the fine H2 bubbles exist stably in the liquid sodium, longer than previously expected. This paper describes the comparison between the theoretical estimation and experimental results based on hydrogen form in sodium in the development of the new hydrogen detector in Japan.

  • For hydrogen-cooled large turbine generators, partial discharges in ground wall insulations are suppressed by high hydrogen pressure. The first goal of the experiment is to investigate the effect of hydrogen pressure on partial discharge activity and aging rate in turbine generator winding insulations. A series of tests have been performed on two groups of the accelerated aging experiments. The first group of stator windings was aged under hydrogen pressure of 4 atm while the second group of stator windings was aged under air atmosphere. The stator windings aged under air atmosphere suffer from larger partial discharge magnitude with larger voids at high electrical stress than those under hydrogen pressure. The second goal of the experiment is to evaluate the validity of on-line measurement technique which is normally measured under hydrogen environment. The test results show that further experiments are needed to apply the on-line scheme to turbine generator being under high hydrogen pressure.

소듐냉각고속로 원형로 소듐-물 반응 압력완화계통의 급수배출 및 수소방출 설계 요건 연구 (Investigation on Design Requirements of Feed Water Drain and Hydrogen Vent Systems for the Prototype Generation IV Sodium Cooled Fast Reactor)

  • 본 논문은 소듐냉각고속로 원형로 소듐-물 반응 압력완화계통의 급수배출부와 수소방출부의 설계요건 도출을 목적으로 한다. 증기발생기 전열관 누설에 의한 소듐-물 반응 발생 시, 증기발생기 내의 급수 증기를 신속하게 배출하는 조건을 도출하기 위해 급수덤프탱크 가스방출배관의 단면적과 증기발생기 급수배출배관의 수직길이를 변화시켜 연구를 수행하였다. 정상운전과 재장전운전에 대해 각각 계산을 수행하여 급수덤프탱크 가스방출배관의 단면적과 증기발생기 급수배출배관의 수직길이를 결정하였다. 정상운전 조건에서 소듐-물 반응 발생 시, 생성물인 수소에 의해 형성되는 과압이 소듐덤프탱크의 설계압력을 만족시킬 수 있도록 하는 가스방출배관의 직경을 도출하였고, 이 때 대기로 방출되는 수소의 유량과 농도를 계산하였다. 본 논문의 계산결과는 향후 소듐냉각고속로 원형로의 소듐-물 반응 압력완화계통의 설계요건으로 활용될 예정이다.

고정자 권선용 F종 주절연테이프의 기계적 특성 (Mechanical characteristics of class-F groundwall insulation tapes for stator windings)

  • Class-F resin-rich type insulating tapes are generally used for the groundwall insulations of the large turbine generators with air-cooled and hydrogen-cooled stator windings. In this paper, mechanical strength properties degraded over aging time in higher temperature than designed one in normal condition were experimentally investigated and the results of comparative tests were presented on the existing class-F resin-rich type tape and a developed one after curing. The resin-rich insulating tapes with composite material of Mica/Epoxy/support currently were used in this test. The tests for tensile and flexural strength properties were conducted with the specimens which were composed of unaged and the aged specimens accelerated for one, two, and three thousand hours at 180 $^{\circ}C$. The tensional strength was only measured for the unaged specimens and the results are also presented to make a comparative test for their initial mechanical characteristics.

대용량 터빈발전기 고정자 권선의 정지중 및 운전중 부분방전 특성 (Off-Line and On-Line Partial Discharge Properties of Large Turbine Generator)

  • Off-line and on-line partial discharges were measured on a 828MVA, 22kV and direct hydrogen-cooled large turbine generator. Partial discharge tests were conducted using digital partial discharge detector(PDD) and turbine generator analyzer(TGA). PDD and TGA showed that off-line partial discharge pattern seems to be very, similar to that found with on-line. Most of the partial discharge is originating with the stator slot in the three phases. As the partial discharge activity is very low, the stator insulation condition of this generator is very good.

마이크로포커스 X-선 투과 영상을 이용한 모의 TRISO 핵연료 입자 코팅 층 두께 비파괴 측정 (Nondestructive Measurement of the Coating Thickness in the Simulated TRISO-Coated Fuel Particle Using Micro-Focus X-ray Radiography)

  • 차세대 원자로로 부각되고 있는 고온가스로에서는 윈자로에서는 고온 안정성 및 핵분열생성물 차단 성능이 우수한 TRISO(tri-isotropic) 핵연료를 사용하고 있다. TRISO 핵연료 입자는 직경이 약 1mm인 구 형태로 입자의 중심에는 직경 0.5mm의 핵연료 커널(kernel)이 포함되며 커널 외곽을 코팅 층이 에워싸고 있다. 이 코팅 층은 완충(buffer) PyC(pyrolytic carbon)층, 내부 PyC층, SiC층, 그리고 외부 PyC층으로 구성되어 있다. 각 코팅 층의 두께는 수십-백${\mu}m$ 범위이고 사양으로 정해져 있으며, 본 연구에서는 각 코팅 층의 두께를 비파괴적으로 측정하기 위하여 마이크로포커스 X-선 발생장치와 고해상도 X-선 평판(flat panel) 검출기초 구성된 정밀한 X-선 래디오그래피 장치를 개발하였다. 개발된 마이크로 X-선 래디오그래피 장치를 이용하여 $UO_2$ 핵물질 $ZrO_2$를 커널로 사용한 모의 TRISO 핵연료 입사에 대한 투과 영상을 획득한 후 디지털 영상처리 기술을 이용하여 코팅 층 사이의 경계선이 구분 가능하도록 영상을 개선하고 디지털 영상처리 알고리듬을 개발하여 코팅 층의 두께를 파동으로 측정하였다.
