  • This paper presents to generate 3D building model using estimation of rooftop surface after 3D line segment extraction using hybrid stereo matching techniques in terms of the co-operation of area-based stereo and feature-based stereo. we first performed a junction extraction from 3D line segment data which was obtained by stereo images, and finally generated building's reliable rooftop surface model using LSE(Least Square Error) method after creating surfaces by grouped and fixed junction points. we generated synthetic images for experimentation by photo-realistic simulation on Avenches data set of Ascona aerial images.

  • We propose an algorithm for almost unsupervised detection of linear structures, in particular, axes in road network and river, as seen in synthetics aperture radar (SAR) images. The first is local step and used to extract linear features from the speckle radar image, which are treated as road segment candidates. We present two local line detectors as well as a method for fusing Information from these detectors. The second is hybrid step, we Identify the real roads among the segment candidates by defining a Markov random field (MRF) on a set of segments, which introduces contextual knowledge about the shape of road objects.

  • 본 논문은 혼합형 폴리라인 단순화와 공간 에너지 집중을 이용한 GIS 벡터맵 데이터 압축을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서는 GIS 벡터맵에서 폴리라인 속성을 가지는 레이어들에 대해, 최소 면적 오차 기반의 혼합형 폴리라인 단순화 및 공간 에너지 집중에 의하여 선택된 레이어 내의 폴리라인 데이터들을 압축한다. 제안한 단순화 및 공간 에너지 집중는 폴리라인의 형상을 유지하면서 데이터 압축 효과를 향상시킨다. 가시적 화질과 압축률을 통한 평가 결과로부터 제안한 방법이 기존 방법보다 우수한 화질과 높은 압축률을 보임을 확인하였다.

신형식 다기능 조파기 설계 (On the Design of Novel Hybrid Wave Generator)

  • The novel wave generating system of a wave flume has been devised by utilizing the analytic solution of wave board motion in idealized two dimensional space. The arbitrary oscillation motion of submerged wave board segment has been defined by sinusoidal motion of upper and lower end of the wave board. The analytic solution of the wave board motion has been represented by the solution of board motion due to flap motion and swing motion. Arbitrary oscillation of the board could be specified by determining amplitude, frequency, and the phase lag. A novel hybrid wave generator could be operated not only in piston motion but also in flap or swing motion by selection of control parameter. The wave generator has unique motion enhancing ability by appending flap motion or swing motion to piston motion in wave generation. In addition the hybrid wave generator has advantages in generating high quality wave spectrum of irregular wave in simulating real sea condition.

The Changes in Range of Motion after a Lumbar Spinal Arthroplasty with Charite$^{TM}$ in the Human Cadaveric Spine under Physiologic Compressive Follower Preload: A Comparative Study between Load Control Protocol and Hybrid Protocol

  • Objective: To compare two testing protocols for evaluating range of motion (ROM) changes in the preloaded cadaveric spines implanted with a mobile core type Charite$^{TM}$ lumbar artificial disc. Methods: Using five human cadaveric lumbosacral spines (L2-S2), baseline ROMs were measured with a bending moment of 8 Nm for all motion modes (flexion/extension, lateral bending, and axial rotation) in intact spine. The ROM was tracked using a video-based motion-capturing system. After the Charite$^{TM}$ disc was implanted at the L4-L5 level, the measurement was repeated using two different methods: 1) loading up to 8 Nm with the compressive follower preload as in testing the intact spine (Load control protocol), 2) loading in displacement control until the total ROM of L2-S2 matches that when the intact spine was loaded under load control (Hybrid protocol). The comparison between the data of each protocol was performed. Results: The ROMs of the L4-L5 arthroplasty level were increased in all test modalities (p < 0.05 in bending and rotation) under both load and hybrid protocols. At the adjacent segments, the ROMs were increased in all modes except flexion under load control protocol. Under hybrid protocol, the adjacent segments demonstrated decreased ROMs in all modalities except extension at the inferior segment. Statistical significance between load and hybrid protocols was observed during bending and rotation at the operative and adjacent levels (p< 0.05). Conclusion: In hybrid protocol, the Charite$^{TM}$ disc provided a relatively better restoration of ROM, than in the load control protocol, reproducing clinical observations in terms of motion following surgery.

가상 I/O 세그먼트를 이용한 OneNAND 플래시 메모리의 읽기 성능 향상 기법 (Improving the Read Performance of OneNAND Flash Memory using Virtual I/O Segment)

  • OneNAND 플래시는 NAND 플래시와 NOR 플래시의 장점을 모두 가진 고성능 하이브리드 플래시 메모리이다. OneNAND 플래시는 NAND 플래시의 장점들을 그대로 가지고 있을 뿐 아니라, 그동안 NAND 플래시의 단점으로 지적되던 느린 읽기 성능을 획기적으로 개선하였다. 그 결과 OneNAND 플래시는 휴대폰 및 디지털 카메라, PMP, 휴대용 게임기와 같은 고성능 휴대용 정보기기를 위한 최적의 스토리지 솔루션으로 각광받고 있다. 하지만 Linux를 비롯하여 현재 사용되고 있는 대부분의 범용 운영체제들은 가상 메모리와 블록 I/O 계층 구조의 제약으로 인해 OneNAND 플래시의 뛰어난 위기 성능을 제대로 활용하지 못하는 문제를 안고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존의 소프트웨어 계층 구조 하에서 OneNAND 플래시의 읽기 성능을 최대한 활용하기 위한 기법인 가상 I/O 세그먼트의 활용을 제안한다. 실제 구현을 통한 실험 결과는 제안된 기법이 OneNAND 플래시의 읽기 수행 시간을 기존에 비해 최고 54%까지 단축할 수 있음을 증명하였다.

공컨테이너 운영 관리를 위한 모형 개발 (Models for the Empty Container Repositioning and Leasing)

  • This paper is concerned with the development of a tractable model to assist liner shipping companies in the decision-making of empty container repositioning and leasing. A hybrid methodology is presented which properly accounts for the specific characteristics of empty container management. For this mathematical models are developed based on dynamic network models, covering both land and marine segment. Then a stochastic method is presented to deal with the uncertainty of the future demand and supply. Especially, the concept of opportunity cost has been introduced in order to explain interactions between the variation of the future demand and supply and the stock level at each depot.

  • 세그먼트 패치(Segment Patch) 기반의 스테레오 매칭에 있어서, 매칭의 속도와 정확도는 세그먼트 패치를 생성하는 과정에 의존한다. 본 논문에서는 매칭 프리미티브로 사용되는 세그먼트 패치를 결정하는 과정으로 영상의 강도와 함께 인접 세그먼트 패치들 사이의 깊이를 고려하여 최적의 세그먼트 패치를 결정하는 방법을 제안하였다. 그 결과 영상의 강도 변화가 작은 영역에서 뿐만 아니라 패치 매칭의 취약함으로 지적되었던 복잡한 영역에서도 좋은 결과를 보여 주었다.

  • In this paper, the performance design and analysis for an Interior Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) that will be used as a traction motor in the e-4WD system of hybrid SUV(Sports Utility Vehicle) and RV(Recreational Vehicle), are investigated using finite element method. In order to improve the accuracy of design, the tolerances of parts and assemblies as well as the material properties of permanent magnet, stator, rotor and winding etc. are considered under the conditions similar to real driving state of motor. Both no load performance test and maximum load performance test, in which real driving state and cooling condition have been considered, are also implemented via proto sample build to verify the validity of motor's performance design.

  • The simplest method which has been used extensively for vibration analysis is the transfer matrix method introduced by Myklestad and was later extended by many researchers. The crude approximation results in considerable error on the predicted natural frequencies and to increase the accuracy the number of elements used in the analysis must be increased. In addition, numerical instability can occur as a result of matrix multiplication. Also the main disadvantage of the finite element method is the large computer memory requirements for complex systems. The new method proposed in this paper combines the transfer matrix and finite dynamic element techniques to form a powerful algorithm for vibration analysis of rotor system. It is shown that the accuracy improves significantly when the transfer matrix for each segment is obtained from finite dynamic element techniques.
