  • High performance direct-iterative hybrid linear solver for large scale finite element problem is developed. Direct solution method is robust but difficult to parallelize, whereas iterative solution method is opposite for direct method. Therefore, combining two solution methods is desired to get both high performance parallel efficiency and numerical robustness for large scale structural analysis problems. Hybrid method mentioned in this paper is based on FETI-DP (Finite Element Tearing and Interconnecting-Dual Primal method) which has good parallel scalability and efficiency. It is suitable for fourth and second order finite element elliptic problems including structural analysis problems. We are using the hybrid concept of theses two solution method categories, combining the multifrontal solver into FETI-DP based iterative solver. Hybrid solver is implemented for our general structural analysis code, IPSAP.

  • Product factory is a real-time financial product design system for the Internet customers. The hybrid product is a product taking combined characteristics of two different products. Hybrid product factory is a product factory that designs hybrid products from two different products based on both business rules and customer requirements. Though the importance of product factory is emphasized in the industry, there has not been much research peformed regarding product factory. In this research, we developed a product factory system that designs hybrid products. To design a hybrid product, it is necessary to have a method to combine attributes and values of two different products, and a method to control the combining operations to properly reflect business requirements. In this research, we developed four different combining operators and business rule representations. In addition, to prove the effectiveness of this methods, we implemented a prototypical system and demonstrated on cases regarding financial loan products.

  • The exponential distibution is one of the most popular distributions in analyzing the lifetime data. In this paper, we propose multiply Type I hybrid censoring. And this paper presents the statistical inference on the scale parameter for the exponential distribution when samples are multiply Type I hybrid censoring. The scale parameter is estimated by approximate maximum likelihood estimation methods using two different Taylor series expansion types ($AMLE_I$, $AMLE_{II}$). We also obtain the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of the scale parameter ${\sigma}$ under the proposed multiply Type I hybrid censored samples. We compare the estimators in the sense of the root mean square error (RMSE). The simulation procedure is repeated 10,000 times for the sample size n=20 and 40 and various censored schemes. The $AMLE_{II}$ is better than $AMLE_I$ in the sense of the RMSE.

  • Image morphing methods make seamless transition changes in the image and mask the meaningful information attached to it. This can be detected by traditional machine learning algorithms and new emerging deep learning algorithms. In this research work, scope of different Hybrid learning approaches having combination of Deep learning and Machine learning are being analyzed with the public dataset CASIA V1.0, CASIA V2.0 and DVMM to find the most efficient algorithm. The simulated results with CNN (Convolution Neural Network), Hybrid approach of CNN along with SVM (Support Vector Machine) and Hybrid approach of CNN along with Random Forest algorithm produced 96.92 %, 95.98 and 99.18 % accuracy respectively with the CASIA V2.0 dataset having 9555 images. The accuracy pattern of applied algorithms changes with CASIA V1.0 data and DVMM data having 1721 and 1845 set of images presenting minimal accuracy with Hybrid approach of CNN and Random Forest algorithm. It is confirmed that the choice of best algorithm to find image forgery depends on input data type. This paper presents the combination of best suited algorithm to detect image morphing with different input datasets.

  • Isochromatics obtained from photoelastic experiment shows the stress distributions of full field of a structure under a load. Therefore stress distributions of the structure can be read at a glace through isochromatics. Many experimental data are obtained from isochromatics. And then, the various photoelastic experimental hybrid methods have been developed. Until now, monochromatic light has been used for photoelastic experimental hybrid method. Therefore the photoelastic experimental hybrid method used until now is called the photoelastic experimental hybrid method for black and white isochromatics. When stresses are analyed by photoelastic experimental hybrid method, many experimental data are needed. Therefore some fringe orders of isochromatics are needed for the photoelastic experimental hybrid method for white and black isochromatics. Therefore in this paper, the photoelastic experimental hybrid method for color isochromatics is developed. In this case, two fringe orders are enough for the experimental data of photoelastic experimental hybrid method for color isochromatics. Applying the method to stress concentration problems, its validity is confirmed. In the precision, the photoelastic experimental hybrid method for color isochromatics is better than the photoelastic experimental hybrid method for white and black isochromatics when fringe orders of isochromatics are few. When fringe orders are few, the photoelastic experimental hybrid method for color isochromatics can be used to analyze stress through few fringe orders of isochromatics.

  • With the advance of internet technology and fast growing of data volume, it become very hard to find a demanding information from the huge amount of data. Recommender system can solve the delema by helping a user to find required information. This paper proposes a reinforcement learning based hybrid recommendation system to predict user's preference. The hybrid recommendation system combines the content based filtering and collaborate filtering, and the system was tested using 2000 images. We used mean abstract error(MAE) to compare the performance of the collaborative filtering, the content based filtering, the naive hybrid filtering, and the reinforcement learning algorithm based hybrid filtering methods. The experiment result shows that the performance of the proposed hybrid filtering performance based on reinforcement learning is superior to other methods.

  • Objective: To compare two testing protocols for evaluating range of motion (ROM) changes in the preloaded cadaveric spines implanted with a mobile core type Charite$^{TM}$ lumbar artificial disc. Methods: Using five human cadaveric lumbosacral spines (L2-S2), baseline ROMs were measured with a bending moment of 8 Nm for all motion modes (flexion/extension, lateral bending, and axial rotation) in intact spine. The ROM was tracked using a video-based motion-capturing system. After the Charite$^{TM}$ disc was implanted at the L4-L5 level, the measurement was repeated using two different methods: 1) loading up to 8 Nm with the compressive follower preload as in testing the intact spine (Load control protocol), 2) loading in displacement control until the total ROM of L2-S2 matches that when the intact spine was loaded under load control (Hybrid protocol). The comparison between the data of each protocol was performed. Results: The ROMs of the L4-L5 arthroplasty level were increased in all test modalities (p < 0.05 in bending and rotation) under both load and hybrid protocols. At the adjacent segments, the ROMs were increased in all modes except flexion under load control protocol. Under hybrid protocol, the adjacent segments demonstrated decreased ROMs in all modalities except extension at the inferior segment. Statistical significance between load and hybrid protocols was observed during bending and rotation at the operative and adjacent levels (p< 0.05). Conclusion: In hybrid protocol, the Charite$^{TM}$ disc provided a relatively better restoration of ROM, than in the load control protocol, reproducing clinical observations in terms of motion following surgery.

  • In this study, a new information-based hybrid modeling framework is proposed. In the hybrid framework, a conventional mathematical model is complemented by the informational methods. The basic premise of the proposed hybrid methodology is that not all features of system response are amenable to mathematical modeling, hence considering informational alternatives. This may be because (i) the underlying theory is not available or not sufficiently developed, or (ii) the existing theory is too complex and therefore not suitable for modeling within building frame analysis. The role of informational methods is to model aspects that the mathematical model leaves out. Autoprogressive algorithm and self-learning simulation extract the missing aspects from a system response. In a hybrid framework, experimental data is an integral part of modeling, rather than being used strictly for validation processes. The potential of the hybrid methodology is illustrated through modeling complex hysteretic behavior of beam-to-column connections.

  • A simple method for the fabrication of 3D micro-nano hybrid patterns was presented. In conventional fabrication methods of the micro-nano hybrid patterns, micro-patterns were firstly fabricated and then nano-patterns were formatted on the micro-patterns. Moreover, these micro-nano hybrid patterns could be fabricated on the flat substrate. In this paper, we suggested the fabrication method of 3D micro-nano hybrid patterns using micro-indentation on the anodized aluminum substrate. Since diameter of the hemispherical nano-pattern can be controlled by electrolyte and applied voltage in the anodizing process, we can easily fabricated nano-patterns of diameter of loom to 300nm. Nano-patterns were firstly formatted on the aluminum substrate, and then micro-patterns were fabricated by deforming the nano-patterned aluminum substrate. Hemispherical nano-patterns of diameter of 150nm were fabricated by anodizing process, and then micro-pyramid patterns of the side-length of $50{\mu}m$ were formatted on the nano-patterns using micro-indentation. Finally we successfully replicated 3D micro-nano hybrid patterns by hot-embossing process. 3D micro-nano hybrid patterns can be applied to nano-photonic device and nano-biochip application.

  • PURPOSE. To evaluate the sealing performance of Hybrid Coat and its influence on the shear bond strength of five dentin surface cements. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Six premolars were pretreated to expose the dentin surface prior to the application of Hybrid Coat. The microscopic characteristics of the dentinal surfaces were examined with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Then, 40 premolars were sectioned longitudinally, and 80 semi-sections were divided into a control group (untreated) and a study group (treated by Hybrid Coat). Alloy restoration was bonded to the teeth specimen using five different cements. Shear bond strength was measured by the universal testing machine. The fracture patterns and the adhesive interface were observed using a stereomicroscope. RESULTS. SEM revealed that the lumens of dentinal tubules were completely occluded by Hybrid Coat. The Hybrid Coat significantly improved the shear bond strength of resin-modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC) and resin cement (RC) but weakened the performance of zinc phosphate cement (ZPC), zinc polycarboxylate cement (ZPCC) and glass ionomer cement (GIC). CONCLUSION. Hybrid Coat is an effective dentinal tubule sealant, and therefore its combined use with resin or resin-modified glass ionomer cements can be applied for the prostheses attachment purpose.
