A hybrid passivation method using parylene and silicon dioxide combination layer for a flexible organic light emitting diode (FOLED) was applied on a polycarbonate substrate. A parylene coating by vapor polymerization method is a highly effective passivation process for the FOLED, and it applies all top surface and the edges of the FOLED device. In order to minimize the permeation of moisture and oxygen from the top surface of the device, an additional layer of silicon dioxide was deposited over the parylene coated layer. It was found that the water vapor transmittance rate (WVTR) of parylene (15 m-in-thickness) / SiO2 (0.3$\mu$m-in-thickness) combination layers deposited on polycarbonate film was decreased under the value of 10-3 g/m2day. The FOLED with the hybrid passivation showed remarkably longer lifetime characteristics in the ambient conditions than the non-passivated FOLED. The lifetime of the passivated FOLED was 400 hours and it was more than ten times over the lifetime of the convectional non-passivated FOLED.

In recent years, there has been keen interest in developing flat panel detectors for all modalities of radiology, including gerneral radiology, fluoroscopy, electronic portal imaging, and mammography. In this paper, we report the new hybrid x-ray detector consisted of ZnS(Ag) photoemission layer and a-Se photoconductor layer to resolve problem of conventional x-ray detector such as the direct detector and the indirect detector. To design the structure of ZnS(Ag)/a-Se detector, the penetrated energy spectrum and absorption fraction was estimated using MCNP 4C code. Also, we carried out the experiment to demonstrate the result of MCNP 4C code. Experimental results showed that the absorption fraction of $500{\mu}m$-ZnS(Ag) film was above 87%, 75% at 60 and 80 kVp. As a results, we can determined the thickness of suitable phosphor and the thickness of photoconductor.

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the patterns of hybrid layer according to the application time and the frequency and its effects on the shear bonding strength of All-In-One system in primary teeth. A single bonding agent(Scotchbond Multi-Purpose Plus, 3M) and an All-In-One system(Prompt L-pop, 3M ESPE) were applied on the dentin varying the application time and the frequency in primary teeth. Shear bond strength was measured and the patterns of hybrid layers were observed by SEM. The following results were obtained ; 1. The shear bonding strength of single bonding agent was significantly higher than that of All-In-One system(P<0.05). 2. The shear bonding strength of All-In-One system applied twice or 3 times were higher than that of applied once (P<0.05). And thickness of the hybrid layer was increased when applied twice or 3 times compared to once. 3. The shear bonding strength of All-In-One system when applied for 15 second and 30 second were higher than that of 7 second (P<0.05). And the hybrid layer thickness of 15 second and 30 second's application time were higher than that of 7 second. 4. Thickness of hybrid layer applied with single bonding agent was $2-4{\mu}m$ and that of All-In-One system was $1-2{\mu}m$.

Hybrid Imprint Lithography (HIL) is proposed where photolithography and imprinting processes are employed. Fabrication step of multilevel or three dimensional patterns is suggested. The method of controlling residual layer thickness after imprinting is developed. The thickness of residual layer changes lineally with imprinting time and can be controlled. Polymer patterns fabricated by this HIL is demonstrated.

Novel materials of $Zn(HPB)_2$ and Ir-complexes were respectively synthesized as blue or red emitting material. White Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED) were fabricated by using $Zn(HPB)_2$ for a blue emitting layer, Ir-complexes for a red emitting layer and $Alq_3$ for a green emitting layer. White OLED was fabricated by using double emitting layers of $Zn(HPB)_2$ and $Alq_3:Ir$-complexes, and hole blocking layer of BCP. We also varied the thickness of BCP. When the thickness of BCP layer was 5 nm, white emission was achieved. We obtained a maximum luminance of $3,500cd/m^2$. The CIE coordinates was (0.375, 0.331). From this study, we could propose that the hybrid structure is efficient in lighting application of white OLED by improvement of color purity.

Photoconductor for direct detection flat-panel imager present a great materials challenge, since their requirements include high X -ray absorption, ionization and charge collection, low leakage current and large area deposition. Selenium is practical material. But it needs high thickness and high voltage in selenium for high ionization rate. We report comparative studies of detector sensitivity. One is an a-Se with $70{\mu}m$ thickness on glass. The other has hybrid layer of depositting ZnS phosphor with $100{\mu}m$ on a-Se. The leakage current of hybrid is similar to it of a-Se, but photocurrent is lager than a-Se. Both of them have high spatial resolution, but hybrid has higher sensitivity than a-Se at comparable bias voltage.

We fabricate organic-inorganic hybrid thin film for the purpose of encapsulation by molecular layer deposition (MLD) using Trimethylaluminium (TMA) and Adipoyl Chloride (AC). Ellipsometry was employed to verify self limiting reaction of ALD. Linear relationship between number of cycle and thickness was obtained. We found that desirable organic thin film fabrication is possible by MLD surface reaction in nanoscale. Purging was carried out after dosing of each precursor to form monolayer in each sequence. We also confirmed roughness of the organic thin film by atomic force microscopy. We deposit TMA and AC at $70^{\circ}C$ and that 1.78A root mean square was obtained which indicates that uniform organic thin film was formed. We confirmed precursor's functional group by IR spectrum. We calculated WVTR of organic-inorganic hybrid super-lattice epitaxial layer using Ca test. WVTR indicates superlattice film can be possibly use as encapsulation in flexible devices.

In this paper, a miniaturized ring hybrid circuit is characterized based on a thin film microstrip (TFMS) on low-resistivity silicon. In order to obtain low-loss characteristics, a polyimide layer with 50 $\mu$m thickness is spin-coated onto the silicon to be used for the substrate. First, propagation characteristics of TFMS lines consisting of the ring hybrid circuit are presented. Then, a ring hybrid circuit based on TFMS is featured by employing the triple concentric circle approach for miniaturization. Triple concentric circle lines with $\lambda$$_{g}$/4 or 3$\lambda$$_{g}$/4 line lengths are implemented on the surface of the polyimide by circularly meandering to reduce the circuit size of the designed ring hybrid. Good agreement between measured and simulated results is obtained.

At present, the study of direct digital X-ray detector and indirect digital X-ray detector proceed actively. But it needs high thickness and high voltage in selenium for high ionization rate. Therefore, we carried out the study of electric characteristics of a-Se with additive ratio of Iodine in drafting study for developing Hybrid X -ray Sensor for complementing direct digital X -ray detector and indirect digital X-ray detector in this paper. On this, there are formed Amorphous selenium multi-layers by sticking phosphor layer$(Gd_{2}O_{2}S(Eu^{2+}))$ using optical adhesives of EFIRON Co. Amorphous selenium multi-layers having dielectric layer(parylene) has characteristics of low dark-current, high X-ray sensitivity. So we can acquired a enhanced signal to noise ratio. We make Amorphous selenium multi-layers with $30{\mu}m$ thickness on glass.

Nowadays, Active Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diodes (AM-OLEDs) are the superior display device due to their vivid full color, perfect video capability, light weight, low driving power, and potential flexibility. One of the advantages of AM-OLED over Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) lies in its flexibility. The potential flexibility of AM-OLED is not fully explored due to its sensitivity to moisture and oxygen which are readily present in atmosphere, and there are no flexible encapsulation layers available to protect these. Therefore, we come up with a new concept of Inorganic-Organic hybrid thin film as the encapsulation layer. Our Inorganic layer is Al2O3 and Organic layer is F-Alucone. We deposited these layers in vacuum state using Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and Molecular Layer Deposition (MLD) techniques. We found the results are comparable to commercial requirement of 10-6 g/m2 day for Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR). Using ALD and MLD, we can control the exact thin film thickness and fabricate more dense films than chemical or physical vapor deposition methods. Moreover, this hybrid encapsulation layer potentially has both the flexibility of organic layers and superior protection properties of inorganic layer.
