초고층 주거건물에서 굴뚝효과와 외풍영향에 인한 실내 환기 기류해석 및 평가에 관한 연구 (A Numerical Analysis on the Indoor Air Ventilation by Stack Effect and Outdoor Wind in a High-rise Residential Building)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the 3 types of indoor ventilation methods such as natural, mechanical, and hybrid ventilation in high-rise building which is affected by stack effect and outdoor air pressure. For the evaluation of the ventilation capacity, CFD simulation was performed in a typical high-rise residential building. The results of the simulations are as follows: 1) Natural ventilation method is not enough to the regulation. 2) In case of mechanical ventilation, congested area is occurred but meets the regulation. 3) In case of hybrid ventilation with stack effect, all the areas of indoor meet the regulation and congested area is reduced. 4) In case of high-rise building, the differences of ventilation rate among houses in the building are not large because the mechanical ventilation is main factor.

  • Electronic and telecommunication industries are constantly trying to develop compact components having high power density. Therefore, a proper heat dissipation method is very important to allow reliable operation of the telecommunication equipment. In this study, a hybrid refrigeration system for a telecommunication equipment room was designed to save energy consumption and improve reliability of the compressor In addition, the performance of the hybrid refrigeration system was measured with a variation of outdoor load. The designed hybrid refrigeration system for the telecommunication equipment shelter saved the energy approximately 50%e at the mode switch temperature of $8.3^{\circ}C$.

  • Solar/absorption cooling system was analyzed and its operating condition was examined. For the system, the optimum size of absorption refrigerator and collector area should be determined. As the temperature of water supplied to the generator increases, the collector efficiency decreases whereas the coefficient of performance of absorption refrigerator increases up to a certain point, and vice versa for decreasing of the temperature of water supplied to the generator . Thus if the reeling load is given, the appropriate operating condition can be determined between the two opposing trends by simulation program. As an example of the simulation, the case of Jejudo province was studied. Under the conditions (such as weather data and prices of components, etc.) given en the sample calculation, the result shows that the optimum temperature of water supplied to the generator turned out to be $80.3^{\circ}C$, and still shows a large economical disadvantage in present stage compared to the case of conventional vapor compression cooling/heating combined heat pump system.

  • The shopping center in underground passage increased for efficient space utilization in urban area. This study describes operation characteristics of all air type and hybrid type with local ventilation and fan coil unit fixed to ceiling. In order to compare energy saving, thermal environment and installation space, etc., integrated simulator with heat production and indoor distribution system is designed and constructed. Energy saving of the hybrid system is calculated as over 30% compared to conventional all air type. And also the results showed that humidity decreased about 6%, also indoor thermal distribution is improved as temperature variation of around $1^{\circ}C$.

  • Recently, the use of renewable energy has been increased due to growing concern on the energy-saving at buildings and the reduction of $CO_2$ emission. In the field of architecture, to reduce the energy consumption of heating, cooling and hot water supply, heat pump systems with renewable energy has been developed and used in various applications. However, there have been many of researches on the large-scale commercial heat pump systems, but the research and the field application of a compact heat pump system is rare. Therefore, in order to develop the compact heat pump for the small-scale residential building, this study conducted the performance test and feasibility study for a hybrid heat pump using the heat source of air, solar and ground. In the results of experiments through a trial product, the average COP of cooling mode with ground heat source was 4.75, and it of heating mode was 4.03. Furthermore, the average COP of cooling mode with air heat source was 2.60, and it of heating mode was 2.92. Finally, payback period of the system was calculated as 9.2 years.

  • The recent on indoor air problem has led to many studies on the methods and effects of ventilation for better indoor air quality. Although natural ventilation is the most effective and energy-saving method in residental housings, the small size of openable window has been a problem in high-rise residential buildings to ventilate only through natural ventilation. Consequently, the installation of mechanical ventilation system has been a requirement in residential buildings, and has caused other problems such as increase of energy consumption and SBS. Hybrid ventilation which uses forces of both natural and mechanical power has been introduced to solve the problem of increase in energy consumption with natural ventilation. In this paper, two types of hybrid ventilation systems in residential building were introduced. One type was with natural ventilation through vent grille in the window, and another type was with natural ventilation through ceiling duct while both types used mechanical ventilation system with the outlets. The indoor temperature distribution and pollution density distribution in summer while operating the ceiling air conditioner were analyzed through CFD simulation. In this paper, the optimal location of diffusers to achieve thermal comfort would be proposed.
