산업현장에서의 실내외 연속측위를 위한 GNSS-UWB 하이브리드 측위 시스템 (GNSS-UWB Hybrid Positioning System for Indoor and Outdoor Seamless Positioning)

  • In this paper, we propose a GNSS-UWB hybrid positioning system for indoor and outdoor seamless positioning. Fusion of GNSS and inertial sensors has been widely used as a method for estimating positions in places where GNSS reception sensitivity is low, and UWB technology, which started as a short-range wireless communication technology, is widely used indoors where GNSS is completely blocked. This paper proposes a method of mutual correction and fusion of the location information collected through GNSS and the location information collected from the UWB indoor positioning system when indoor and outdoor work occurs continuously and repeatedly, such as in an industrial site.

  • A hybrid navigation system is implemented to apply for a mobile robot. The hybrid navigation system consists of an inertial navigation system and a global positioning system. The inertial navigation system quickly calculates the position and the attitude of the robot by integrating directional accelerations, angular speed, and heading angle from a strap-down inertial measurement unit, but the results are available for a short time since it tends to diverge quickly. Global positioning system delivers position, heading angle, and traveling speed stably, but it has large deviation with slow update. Therefore, a hybrid navigation system uses the result from an inertial navigation system and corrects the result with the help of the global positioning system where an indirect feedback Kalman filter is used. We implement and confirm the performance of the hybrid navigation system through driving a car attaching it.

  • 종래 측위 기법들의 큰 추정 오차, 고비용, 제한된 서비스 범위 등의 문제점들을 극복하기 위해, 가시광 통신과 애드혹 무선 네트워크 인프라를 사용하여 정확하고 편리한 두 가지 하이브리드 측위 설계 기법들을 제안한다. 한가지 방법은 저속의 광 센싱, 좁은 범위의 가시광 수신, 장거리 측위 등의 서비스를 위한 비캐리어 가시광 통신기반의 하이브리드 측위 기법이며, 또 다른 방식은 고속 광 센싱, 넓은 범위의 가시광 수신, 중거리 측위 등의 서비스를 위한 4 MHz 캐리어를 사용하는 가시광 통신 기반의 하이브리드 측위 기법이다. 이 논문에서는 장애물이 있는 실내 환경에서 목표물과 관측자사이 7731.4cm 장거리와 2368cm 중거리 범위일 때, 각각 두 가지 기법으로 하이브리드 측위 시스템들이 구현되어 측위가 수행되고, 제안 시스템이 검증과 분석된다.

  • 위치 정보를 제공하는 대표적인 측위 기술은 GPS다. 이 기술은 밀도가 높은 도심이나 숲, 그리고 실내와 같은 음영지역에서는 동작하지 않는 단점이 있다. 본 논문은 실내의 AP로 부터의 Wi-Fi 신호의 세기를 이용하여 보다 정확한 단말의 위치를 추정하게 해주는 실내 측위 하이브리드 알고리즘을 제안한다. 사용자의 위치를 결정하기 위해 건물 구조, 사람, 거리 등 다양한 환경에서 측정한 RSSI (received signal strength indicator) 값을 이용하여 측정 환경에 맞는 가장 적절한 경로손실모델을 수립한다. 이러한 경로 손실 모델에서 구해진 경로손실지수를 환경에 따라 변화시켜, AP로 부터 얻은 측정값을 이용하여 REKF (robust extended kalman filter)와 PF (particle filter) 알고리즘을 사용하여 단말기의 위치를 추정하게 된다. 보다 더 정확한 위치 추정을 위해 하나의 측위 방식만을 사용하지 않고, 실험을 통하여 구해진 임계값에 따라 어떠한 측위방식을 사용할 것인지를 결정한다. 제안한 하이브리드 알고리즘을 이용하여 실험한 결과 기존의 단일 측위 방식 보다 평균 17% 성능이 향상 되는 것을 볼 수 있었다.

Accurate Long-Term Evolution/Wi-Fi hybrid positioning technology for emergency rescue

  • It is critical to estimate the location using only Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and Wi-Fi information gathered by the user's smartphone and deployable for emergency rescue, regardless of whether the Global Positioning System is received. In this research, we used a vehicle to gather LTE and Wi-Fi wireless signals over a large area for an extended period of time. After that, we used the learning technique to create a positioning database that included both collection and noncollection points. We presented a two-step positioning algorithm that utilizes coarse localization to discover a rough location in a wide area rapidly and fine localization to estimate a particular location based on the coarse position. We confirmed our technology utilizing different sorts of devices in four regional types that are generally encountered: dense urban, urban, suburban, and rural. Results presented that our algorithm can satisfactorily achieve the target accuracy necessary in emergency rescue circumstances.

시간기반과 각도기반의 측위방식 성능비교 및 오차 특성 분석 (Error Analysis of Time-Based and Angle-Based Location Methods)

  • Indoor positioning is highlighted recently, and various kinds of indoor positioning systems are under developments. Since positioning systems have their own characteristics, proper positioning scheme should be chosen according to the required specifications. Positioning methods are classified into time-based and angle-based one. This paper presents the error analysis of time-based and angle-based location methods. Because measurements of these methods are nonlinear, linearizations are needed in both cases to estimate the user position. In the linearization, Gauss-Newton method is used in both cases. To analyze the position error, we investigate the error ellipse parameters that include eccentricity, rotation angle, and the size of ellipse. Simulation results show that the major axes of TOA and AOA method lie in different quadrants at most region of workspace, especially where the geometry is poor. When the TOA/AOA hybrid is employed, it is found that the error ellipse is reduced to the intersection of ellipses of TOA and AOA.

드론 정밀 측위 기술 동향 (A Trend Survey on Precision Positioning Technology for Drones)

  • Drones, which were early operated by remote control, have evolved to enable autonomous flight by combining various sensors and software tools. In particular, autonomous flight of drones was possible since the application of GNSS-RTK (global navigation satellite system with real-time kinematic positioning), a precision satellite navigation technology. For instance, unmanned drone delivery based on GNSS-RTK data was demonstrated for pizza delivery in Korea for the first time in 2021. However, the vulnerabilities of GNSS-RTK should be overcome for delivery drones to be commercialized. In particular, jamming in the navigation system and low positioning accuracy in urban areas should be addressed. Solving these two problems can lead to stable flight, takeoff, and landing of drones in urban areas, and the corresponding solutions are expected to establish a hybrid positioning technology. We discuss current trends in hybrid positioning technology that can either replace or complement GNSS-RTK for stable drone autonomous flight.

  • 본 논문에서는 하이브리드 궤도회로를 이용한 정위치 정차시스템에 대한 가능성에 대해 연구하였다. 하이브리드 궤도회로는 UHF대역의 RFID시스템을 이용하고 실시간 운영체제를 기반으로 철도차상시스템과의 통신이 가능한 차세대 철도신호시스템의 한 부분이다. 본 논문에서 사용된 UHF대역 RFID 시스템은 원형편파의 태그와 리더 안테나가 사용되고 일체형 리더기는 송신출력 25dBm에서 우수한 인식회수를 얻었다. 현재 수동운행중인 지하철 차량에 이 시스템을 적용하여 정위치 정차를 하게 되면 기존 수동운전에서 기관사의 실수로 역을 지나거나 PSD(Platform Screen Door)와 열차출입문이 Mismatch 되는 현상을 방지할 수 있다.

A Comparison of Broadcast and Final Orbits on GPS Delays in GPS-VLBI Hybrid Observation

  • We carry out an error analysis of 24-hour global positioning system (GPS)-very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) (GV) hybrid observation data. In this paper, we focus on the impacts of broadcast and final orbits on the GPS delays of the GV hybrid observation by analyzing the residuals, observed - calculated (O-C) values. The residuals show apparent and consistent biases for L1 and L2 signals, respectively. The scatters of the residuals are around a few nanoseconds. The main cause of those observation errors is the absence of the GPS phase and delay calibration system. Most of the satellites show that the differences between the delays, to which broadcast and final orbits are applied, are about 100 times smaller than the current GV hybrid observation errors. We conclude that GPS delays are not greatly affected by orbit accuracies.

  • As the role of robots expands, flexible task planning methods are attracting attention from various domains. Many task planning frameworks are introduced to efficiently work in a wide range of areas. In order to work well in a broad region with multiple robots, various communication conditions should be controlled by task planning frameworks. However, few methods are proposed. In this paper, we propose mission planning methods according to the communication status of robots. The proposed method was verified through experiments assuming different communication states with a multi-robot system.
