MP-AODV : A New Multipath Routing Protocol Based on AODV in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MP-AODV : AODV 기반 모바일 Ad-Hoc 네트워크에서의 다중경로 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • In this paper, we propose a new multipath routing protocol and compare it with other multipath routing protocols in mobile ad hoc network (MANET) environments. The new multipath routing establishes the main route using a mechanism based on Ad Hoc On-demand Distance Vector(AODV), after which data transmission starts immediately. The backup route search process takes place while data are transmitted, to reduce the transmission delay. The protocol can also operate in a hybrid node-disjoint/link-disjoint mode, where the protocol finds the node-disjoint backup route first; if the node-disjoint does not exist, the protocol discovers the link-disjoint backup route from the main route. When either of the main route or the backup route is broken, data are transmitted continuously through the other route and the broken route is recovered by the route maintenance process. The results of simulations, based on the Qualnet simulator, show that the proposed multipath routing protocol increases the packet transmission success rate and reduces end-to-end delays, when compared with AODV and AOMDV protocols.

  • In MANET, frequent movement of nodes causes the dynamic network topology changes. Therefore the routing protocol, which is very stable to effectively respond the changes of the network changes, is required. Moreover, the existing cluster-based routing protocol, that is the hybrid approach, has routing delay due to the re-electing of the cluster header. In addition, the routing table of CBRP has all only one hop distant neighbor nodes. PCBRP, proposed in this paper, ties two clusters in one pair of clusters to make longer radius. Then the pair of the cluster headers manages and operates corresponding member nodes. When they route nodes in the paired cluster internally, PCBRP reduces the delay by requesting a route. Therefore PCBRP shows improved total delay of the network and improved performance of packet transmitting rate.

  • Several multi-hop applications developed for vehicular ad hoc networks use broadcast as a means to either discover nearby neighbors or propagate useful traffic information to other vehicles located within a certain geographical area. However, the conventional broadcast mechanism may lead to the so-called broadcast storm problem, a scenario in which there is a high level of contention and collisions at the link layer due to an excessive number of broadcast packets. We present a fuzzy alert message dissemination algorithm to improve performance for road safety alert application in Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET). In the proposed algorithm, when a vehicle receives an alert message for the first time, the vehicle rebroadcasts the alert message according to the fuzzy control rules for rebroadcast degree, where the rebroadcast degree depends on the current traffic density of the road and the distance between source vehicle and destination vehicle. Also, the proposed algorithm is the hybrid algorithm that uses broadcast protocol together with token protocol according to traffic density. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated through simulation and compared with that of other alert message dissemination algorithms.

In the current CBRP, when the cluster header leaves out the cluster, the delay, due to the re-electing a header, should be occurred. However, in PCBRP, another cluster header of the paired cluster plays the role instead of the left cluster header. This method reduces the routing delay. Concurrently, PCBRP reduces the delay when they route nodes in the paired cluster internally.

The CWMNs of Ad hoc Mode cannot be directly connected to the BWMNs of Infrastructure Mode because they have different frame types.   • The increasing importance of such fields as embedded systems, pervasive computing, and hybrid systems control is increasing attention to the time-dependent aspects of system modeling. In this paper, we focus on modeling conceptual time. Conceptual time is time represented in conceptual modeling, where the notion of time does not always play a major role. Time modeling in computing is far from exhibiting a unified and comprehensive framework, and is often handled in an ad hoc manner. This paper contributes to the establishment of a broader understanding of time in conceptual modeling based on a software and system engineering model denoted thinging machine (TM). TM modeling is founded on a one-category ontology called a thimac (thing/machine) that is used to elaborate the design and analysis of ontological presumptions. The issue under study is a sample of abstract modeling domains as exemplified by time. The goal is to provide better understanding of the TM model by supplementing it with a conceptualization of time aspects. The results reveal new characteristics of time and related notions such as space, events, and system behavior.

  • By the enormous increase in mobile nodes and diverse service requests on wireless networks, wireless mesh network(WMN) takes an interest as the solution for such requests. However, lots of issues which should be solved to deploy WMN are still remained. In the network layer, the performance improvement of routing protocols is the major issue of nowadays researches. WMN can be easily deployed by use of protocols for mobile ad-hoc networks(MANET) because it is much similar with MANET in multi-hop wireless routing and which node plays as host and router concurrently. Unfortunately, most routing protocols for MANET have drawbacks such as large traffic overhead and long delay time for route discovery due to the network extension. They are major factors of performance degradation of WMN and most researches are focused on them. In this paper, domain-based AODV which is amended AODV to be applied in hybrid WMN is proposed. The proposed scheme divides a hybrid WMN as several domains and performs route discovery by header layer domain. Therefore it can reduce the distance for route discovery as much as average hop count between domain header and member nodes. From the simulation, domain-based AODV was showed slowly increasing delay time due to the network extension.

  • The MANET that can make autonomous distributed Network with Routing function has many differences than past wireless communication. For upcoming ALL-IP environment, MANET device should be connected with wired Internet Network and MANET is required to have a gateway to bridge two different networks to share information from any place. In this paper, Using the GMAHN Algorithm proposed Proactive, Reactive, Hybrid method that provides Inteface between Wired Internet network and MANET, we learned each method's the advantage and disadvantage through the various network environments. And also, we presented the optimization method of Hybrid combined Proactive with Reactive.

  • This paper designs and Implements a connectivity analyzer for the hybrid vehicular network based on the real-life movement history data achieved from the Taxi telematics system currently in operation, aiming at providing a useful guideline and information to build a telematics network. The simulator traces the location of each vehicle, sets the vehicle type, either gateway or normal, decides whether it can be connected to a mobile gateway, keeps track of status of the vehicle, and calculates the duration of disconnected state. With this analysis considering the transmission range and gateway ratio, we can decide the cost-effective number of mobile gateways having both cellular and ad-hoc network interfaces, and buffer space requirement based on the measured disconnection time and message generation ratio.

  • Mobile Ad-hoc Network(MANET) needs efficient node management because the wireless network has energy constraints. Mobility of MANET would require the topology change frequently compared with a static network. To improve the routing protocol in MANET, energy efficient routing protocol would be required as well as considering the mobility would be needed. Previously proposed a hybrid routing CACH prolong the network lifetime and decrease latency. However the algorithm has a problem when node density is increase. In this paper, we propose a new method that the CACHE(Context-aware Clustering Hierarchy and Energy efficient) algorithm. The proposed analysis could not only help in defining the optimum depth of hierarchy architecture CACH utilize, but also improve the problem about node density.
