  • The present study developed an anthropometric design method accommodating physical human variabilities for user-centered product development. The proposed design method is based on the boundary zone method, a technique to generate a group of humanoids properly representing the body size diversity of thedesign target population. In addition, the anthropometric design method considers the variability of postures in the design process by incorporating the simulation of posture. The effectiveness of the proposed design method was evaluated in terms of multivariate accommodation percentage (MAP) by applying it to designing a computer workstation with 90% of accommodation percentage. The performance evaluation showed that the MAP (89%) of the computer workstation design produced by the proposed method was quite close to the designated accommodation percentage. The proposed design method can be of use to develop an effective anthropometric design for user-centered product development.

  • This paper presents a human-centered control algorithm for personalized autonomous driving based on the integration of inverse time-to-collision and time headway. In order to minimize the sense of difference between driver and autonomous driving, the human-centered control technology is required. Driving characteristics in case that vehicle drives with the preceding vehicle have been analyzed and reflected to the longitudinal control algorithm. The driving characteristics such as acceleration, inverse time-to-collision, time headway have been analyzed for longitudinal control. The control algorithm proposed in this study has been constructed on Matlab/Simulink environment and the performance evaluation has been conducted by using actual driving data.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of storytelling-centered arts educational activities based on the famous painting appreciation on young children's appreciation ability of pictures and creativity. The study was conducted with a total of 50 5-year-old young children in two classes of B Day Care Center in the city of J, Jeollabukdo. The children were randomly divided into an experimental group(25) and a control group(25). The storytelling-centered arts educational activities based on the famous painting appreciation was conducted for the experimental group for 12 weeks from April 29, 2013 to July 19, 2013. The activities were composed of 3 steps of 'appreciation-expression-exhibition & assessment' on the basis of 2-week basic units. The appreciation activities were composed basing upon the types of the famous painting appreciation and storytelling, and expression and exhibition & assessment activities were composed of 4 areas of arts(music/movement/language/art). The results of the study are as follows. First, the storytelling-centered arts educational activities based on the famous painting appreciation generally improved young children's painting appreciation abilities in all sub-areas(observation and description/artist's intention of subject expression/mood of a work/material and technique/artistic factors/attitude to the work). Second, the storytelling-centered arts educational activities based on the famous painting appreciation generally improved young children's creativities in all sub-areas(originality/fluency/flexibility/imagination).

  • The purpose of this research was to provide recommendations for eco-centered early childhood education as a new paradigm in Korean society. Questionnaires were collected from directors, teachers, and parents of private & public kindergartens, as well as child care centers, in Bucheon city. The data were analyzed based on the frequencies, $X^2$ test, F test, and Scheffe test. The results were as follows. (a) Most directors, teachers, and parents positively agreed with the eco-centered early childhood education and recognized its benefits. (b) In order for the eco-centered early childhood education to be successful, development of various programs, systematic study, ongoing teacher training, and parents' education were required. (c) In order for the eco-centered early childhood education to develop more culturally appropriate program, close connection with local community, reorganization of the early childhood education curriculum, and government support were needed. The findings demonstrate that eco-centered early childhood education is necessary for the future wellbeing of Korean society.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the housewives' characteristics of household work management. to classify the household work manager styles and to investigate the relationship between the household work manager styles and the family life satisfaction. The data used for statistical analysis is 352 housewives. The data were analyzed by using SPSSWIN Program, $x^2$-test, one-way ANOVA With Duncan's Multiple Range test and t-test were utilized to test null hypotheses. The major findings of this study were as follows : Human centered household work management was more popular than task centered. Family life satisfaction was significantly different depending on the household work manager style. The idel style was concluded as the most desirable manager style.

  • Human-centered computing (HCC) as a field was defined several years ago. Since then, the Web has grown significantly, and so has its impact in society at every level, creating the grounds for a new Web science. In this paper, we examine the definitions of HCC and Web science, and discuss how they might be related. On the one hand, HCC can be viewed as a set of methodologies, and on the other hand, Web science can be viewed as a platform or repository, from which behavioral data can be drawn. We examine the relationship between the two, and summarize three different research approaches that in many ways show this intersection.

  • This study designed to explore the patterns of housing life-styles and the characteristics of apartment housing residents and to examine the relationships between housing life-styles and the characteristics of apartment-housing residents. The data for this study was collected by questionnaires administered to 278 homemakers living in apartment housing over 20s pyong(66$m^2$) in the Kwangju area. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. Housing life-styles were grouped into 9 sub-categories : the Anbang-centered, the dining-centered, the pursuit of conspicuosness and conformity, orientation to change, the pursuit of orderliness, the pursuit of decoration, orientation to community, pursuit of individuality and the orientation to a natural environment. 2. Housing life-styles were significantly different according to age, educational background, and employment status of homemakers, occupation of the primary income provider, family-life cycle stage, total household income, and housing size. • When you act for a good or just when you make a choice, you should ask yourself if the result of your action coincides with the principle that has generated it. Health and respect for our own individuality are two essential goods for the human being and also values that medicine itself should guard carefully remembering that its goal is to take care for a person and not only to cure a sick body. The means to achieve all this can only be a person-centered medicine which has the honor and the burden of considering the person (in the Kantian sense) and his health as an end, not a means. The current mainstream concept of health defined in 1948 by the World Health Organization as a state of complete mental, physical and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity remind us that medical reasoning, based on the pathogenesis operator, is no longer sufficient in dealing with requests from the citizens: is now the right time to shift the focus from sickness to health giving emphasis to the salutogenic medicine approach.
