  • Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate a trend of human error types observed in a series of verification and validation experiments for an Advanced Control Room(ACR) equipped with Lager Display Panel(LDP), Work Station Flat Panel Display(WS FPD), list type Alarm System(AS), Soft Control(SC) and Computerized Procedure System(CPS). Background: Operator behaviors in a fully computerized control room are quite different from those in a traditional hard-wired control room. Operators in an ACR all together monitor plant status and variables through their own interface system such as LDP and WS FPD, are notified of abnormal plant status through their own list type AS, control the plant through their own SC, and follow the structured procedure through their own CPS whereas operators in a traditional control room only separately do their duty directed by their supervisor. Especially the secondary task such as manipulating the user interface of ACR can be an extra burden to all the operators including the supervisor. Method: The Reason's human error classification method was applied to operators' behavioral data collected from a series of verification and validation experiments where operators showed their plant operational behaviors under a couple of harsh scenarios using the ACR simulator. Results: As operators accustomed to the new ACR system, knowledge or rule based mistakes appearing frequently in the early series of experiments decreased drastically in the latest stage of the series. Slip and lapse types of errors were observed throughout the series of experiments. Conclusion: Education and training can be one of the most important factors for the operators accustomed to the traditional control room to be adapted to the new system and to run the ACR successfully. Application: The results of this study implied that knowledge or rule based mistakes can be reduced by training and education but that lapse type errors might be reduced only through innovative improvement in human-system interface design or teamwork culture design including a new leadership style suitable for ACR.

  • CMTM/CKLFSF is a novel family of proteins linking chemokines and TM4SF. In humans, these proteins are encoded by nine genes, CKLF and CMTM1-8/CKLFSF1-8. Here we report the characteristics and expression profile of CMTM3/CKLFSF3. Human CMTM3/CKLFSF3 has a high sequence identity among various species and similar characteristics as its mouse and rat homologues. Established by results both of RT-PCR and Quantitative Real-time PCR, the gene is highly transcribed in testis, leukocytes and spleen. For further verification, we generated a polyclonal antibody against human CMTM3/CKLFSF3 and found that the protein is highly expressed in the testis and some cells of PBMCs. Therefore, CMTM3/CKLFSF3 is an evolutionarily conserved gene that may have important roles in the male reproductive system and immune system. Further studies are necessary to validate its functions in the two systems.

  • There are increasing policies and safeguards to prevent various human resource losses with the development of automotive industry. Currently ISO26262 $1^{st}$ edition has been released in 2011 to ensure functional safety of electrical and electronic systems and the $2^{nd}$ edition will be released in the second half of 2016 as part of a trend. The E/E (Electrical & Electronics) system requirements verification is required through walk-through, 인스펙션, semi-formal verification and formal verification in ISO 26262. This paper describe the efficiency of model checking for the E/E system requirements verification by applying the product development project of ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) D for the electrical parking brake system.

  • The purpose of this study is to extract a skill level of human resource in the field of science and technology. To accomplish the goal of this study, precedent research was conducted and then, the draft of skill level for Human Resource in the field of Science and Technology (HRST) was created by wrap-up meeting. The skill level of the HRST was finalized after confirming verification of 20 SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) from January to February 2016 by two times. The conclusions are as follows; First, the skill level of the HRST consists five categories. Each of the level has educational background, work experience, certification, duty, major and so on. Second, the contents of the skill level were found to be mostly valid.

  • This paper describes the developement of a Design Issue Management System (DIMS). Although human factors engineering has been recognized as one of the critical activities in the design of man-machine system, it has been hardly successful nor effective in practice to cope with the hyman factors requirements by regulations. For supporting the human factors engineering in nuclear power plants, DIMS ahs three major modules : Design Requirements Data Base, Design Issue Tracking System, Issue Evaluation Support System. These modules function as formal verification architects that the licensing authority requests for verifying the safety of the equip- ment and facilities in nuclear power plants. An example application to an operator support system, named Critical Function Monitoring System, during its independent review of the human factors shows the usage and the benefit of DIMS.

  • Railway system is a word that includes rolling stock, railway infrastructure and signalling System in passenger transfer and rail freight. This system get higher competitiveness in energy efficiency part than other transfer system. But it is comprehensive system has latent loss of lives and property by big accident. First of all, to control this comprehensive system and to confirm safety of it, we need human resource management. This research will suggest how to apply efficiency safety verification and certification system to railway system. human resource management systems is defined as three kinds that is recruitment and management, ensure personnel's competencies and fitness, activity of assigning suitable responsible person for work.

  • In this paper, we suggest the method for constructing parameterized human body model which has any required body sizes from 3D scan data. Because of well developed 3D scan technology, we can get more detailed human body model data which allow to generate precise human model. In this field, there are a lot of research is performed with 3D scan data. But previous researches have some limitations to make human body model. They need too much time to perform hole-filling process or calculate parameterization of model. Even more they missed out verification process. To solve these problems, we used several methods. We first choose proper 125 3D scan data from 5th Korean body size survey of Size Korea according to age, height and weight. We also did post process, feature point setting, RBF interpolation and align, to parameterize human model. Then principal component analysis is adapted to the result of post processed data to obtain dominant shape parameters. These steps allow to reduce process time without loss of accuracy. Finally, we compare these results and statistical data of Size Korea to verify our parameterized human model.

  • Dose compensators have been widely used in radiotherapy fields. But, few reliable verification methods have been reported. We have developed the verification method for the evaluation of the effect of dose compensator using exit beam dose profile. The exit beam dose profiles were measured with and without dose compensator. For this purpose X-Omat V films and lead screened cassettes are used and dose distibutions are compared. Phantom data are collected using CT simulator(Picker, AcQ Sim) and compensator information can be obtained from Render Plan 3-D planning System. Aluminum Compensators are generated by computer controlled milling machine. The real dose distribution in the phantom and the exit beam dose profile can be obtained simultaneously with the films in the phantom and the opposite site of the beam. Dose compensations effects for oblique beam, parallel opposing beam and inhomogeneous human phantom can be obtained using above tools. And we could simate those effects with exit beam dose profile using the method that we have developed in this study.

  • Human error is often in part in the cause of accidents and the result of various factors in an organization. Accidents should be investigated to elucidate all causes. Therefore, to reduce accidents, it is necessary to identify which factors affect human error within the organization. In this study, five groups of influencing factors on human error were selected using previousresearch, and operational definitions were made based on them. In addition, a questionnaire for measuring latent variables by operational definition was developed as an observation variable, and responses were received from employees of chemical companies in Ulsan. Based on SEM (structural equation modeling) analysis, 1) confirmatory factor analysis of variables in the human error model, 2) reliability and validity of latent variables, 3) correlations among latent variables, 4) influencing coefficients among influence factors, and 5) the verification results of the paths that these influencing factors have on human error are introduced in this study.
