해저 유기퇴적물 수거를 위한 저속 쌍동형 선형개발 연구 (A Study on the Development of Low Speed Twin-Hull Form for Seabed Organic Sediment Collection)

  • 본 연구에서는 연안의 해저면에 누적된 퇴적오염물을 효율적으로 수거할 수 있는 저속 쌍동형 정화선에 대한 선수선형의 개념설계에 대해 수행하였다. 선형설계는 선체건조가 용이하도록 단순화하였으며, 쌍동선 선형의 선수 Water line, 선수각 등의 변화에 따른 저항성능의 영향을 검토하였다. Ansys CFX를 이용한 수치시뮬레이션과 회류수조에서의 모형시험결과와의 비교/분석 등을 통하여 선수부 선형변화에 따른 저항성능과 자유표면 유동특성 사이의 관계를 고찰하였으며, 그 결과 선수재 위치와 어깨부 체적의 선수부 이동에 따른 파형개선으로 조파저항이 감소하는 등 저항성능의 향상을 확인하였다.

  • The present paper deals with the comparative study of resistance performance with refrigerated ice and synthetic ice according to the variation of hull form characteristics. The resistance test has been conducted in pack ice condition in each concentration condition. Stem angle has been chosen as main parameters for the variation of hull form characteristics. The correlation of performance between with the refrigerated ice and with the synthetic ice has been shown according to the variation for stem angles. The present study show the possibility of ice test in general towing tank with synthetic ice for the time-consuming research such as hull form optimization although that is confined in pack ice condition. The more parametric study for the properties of synthetic ice is expected to be conducted to have more close correspondence for the test results of refrigerated ice in near future.

  • Simulation-based hull form optimization is a typical HEB (high-dimensional, expensive computationally, black-box) problem. Conventional optimization algorithms easily fall into the "curse of dimensionality" when dealing with HEB problems. A recently proposed Cross-Entropy (CE) optimization algorithm is an advanced stochastic optimization algorithm based on a probability model, which has the potential to deal with high-dimensional optimization problems. Currently, the CE algorithm is still in the theoretical research stage and rarely applied to actual engineering optimization. One reason is that the Monte Carlo (MC) method is used to estimate the high-dimensional integrals in parameter update, leading to a large sample size. This paper proposes an improved CE algorithm based on quasi-Monte Carlo (QMC) estimation using high-dimensional truncated Sobol subsequence, referred to as the QMC-CE algorithm. The optimization performance of the proposed algorithm is better than that of the original CE algorithm. With a set of identical control parameters, the tests on six standard test functions and a hull form optimization problem show that the proposed algorithm not only has faster convergence but can also apply to complex simulation optimization problems.

  • Korean fishing boats have had appropriate hull forms for the safety, stability and convenience of fishing ability. However, Korean fishermen are recently concerned about the resistance performance and speed of Korean fishing boats, because the prices of fuel oil are gradually risen, also the exhausting of fish resources and the demand of high speed fishing boats are increased. Therefore, the necessity of the study on the improvement of resistance performance for Korean small coastal fishing boats is gradually increased. This study compares the hull form characteristics of Korean fishing boats with those of Japanese fishing boats, and the hull form of a representative Korean fishing boat is modified. From the modification of the hull form parameters for the Korean fishing boat, the improvement of resistance performances is evaluated. Moreover, the increase of resistance performances is also achieved from the modification of local characteristics for the hull form of the Korean fishing boat. A computational method and ship model tests in towing tank are used for the conformations of the improvement of resistance performance.

  • The study on the improvement of resistance performance is very important for coastal fishing boats in Korea, because the prices of fuel oil are gradually risen and the demand of high-speed fishing boats is increased lately. This study is concerned with the improvement of the resistance performance for Korean high-speed small coastal fishing boats. A semi-planing hull form of Korean small coastal fishing boat is selected in the role of initial hull. From the modification of the hull form parameters and the local characteristics of the hull form, the improvement of the resistance performance is achieved. The resistance performances of the initial and the modified hull forms are estimated by using a numerical simulation method. Also, ship model tests are carried out in ship model basin.

합성곱 신경망과 복셀화를 활용한 선박 저항 성능 예측 (Prediction of Ship Resistance Performance Based on the Convolutional Neural Network With Voxelization)

  • The prediction of ship resistance performance is typically obtained by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations or model tests in towing tank. However, these methods are both costly and time-consuming, so hull-form designers use statistical methods for a quick feed-back during the early design stage. It is well known that results from statistical methods are often less accurate compared to those from CFD simulations or model tests. To overcome this problem, this study suggests a new approach using a Convolution Neural Network (CNN) with voxelized hull-form data. By converting the original Computer Aided Design (CAD) data into three dimensional voxels, the CNN is able to abstract the hull-form data, focusing only on important features. For the verification, suggested method in this study was compared to a parametric method that uses hull parameters such as length overall and block coefficient as inputs. The results showed that the use of voxelized data significantly improves resistance performance prediction accuracy, compared to the parametric approach.

형상계수에 의한 초기선형설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Initial Hull Form Design by Using Form Parameters)

  • 초기 선형을 생성하는 과정은 대개 3가지로서 유사선으로 부터 얻는 법, 계열시험 결과로 부터 얻는 법, 주어진 조건을 만족하도록 처음부터 선형을 생성하는 법 등으로 생각할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 마지막 방법을 택하여 초기 선형을 선형 설계자에게 익숙한 형상계수들을 이용하여 얻고자 하였다. 즉 최소화한 몇 가지의 형상계수를 이용하여 기본 곡선등을 전산기 화면에서 생성하고 이를 제어함으로 선형을 생성하거나 수정하고자 하였다. 곡선을 수학적으로 표시하기 위하여 다항식과 B-Spline 곡선을 사용하였다. 먼저 정면도를 얻기 위하여 5가지의 기본 곡선을 정의하고 이를 얻는 과정을 보였다. Centerline Contour는 B-Spline을 이용하여 생성하였고 정면도와 결합하여 수선(Water Line)을 생성하는 과정을 설명하였다. 이 과정에서 좀더 순정된 결과를 얻기 위해 2가지의 곡선이 제안되었으며 실선에 적용한 결과를 보이고 있다.

CFD 를 이용한 선미선형 최적화 기법 개발 (Development of CFD Based Stern Form Optimization Method)

  • In the present study, stern form optimization has been carried out using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques. The viscous pressure drag has been minimized to optimize stern shape. Parametric modification function has been used to modify the shape of the hull. By the use of the parametric modification function and algebraic scheme to grid manipulation, the initial ship geometry was easily deformed according to change of design parameters. For purpose of illustration, KRISO 319K VLCC (KVLCC) is chosen for example ship to demonstrate stern form optimization. The numerical results indicate that the optimized hull yields a reduction in viscous resistance.

A Study on the Resistance and Wake Characteristics of a Full Ship Series

  • A series of towing tank tests were carried out for 18 full ship models of high block coefficients. The resistance coefficients and wake distribution at the propeller plane were measured and carefully examined. Regression analysis was employed to find out the relationships with the hull form parameters. Equations for wave resistance coefficient, form factor, and nominal wake are given. A harmonic analysis of measured wake was performed to look into the influence of the local stern shape on the magnitude of fluctuating wake components at three different radii. The amplitude of wake harmonics was also expressed by regression quations. It was found that the regression formulas were very useful in estimating resistance and circumferential wake characteristics of full ship models. It was also considered that the formulas presented in this paper could be utilized in the hull form improvement in a preliminary design.

복합선미선형 개념에 의한 AFRAMAX형 유조선 선형의 개발 (Hull Form Development of an AFRAMAX Tanker with a Composite Stern Frameline Concept)

  • $C_B{\simeq}0.8,\;L/B{\simeq}5.5,\;B/d{\simeq}3.5$의 선형치수비를 특징으로 갖는 AFRAMAX형 유조선에 복합선미 선형 개념을 적용하여 선형개발을 수행하였고, 종래 유조선에 비해 매우 우수한 선형이 모형시험을 통하여 확인됨으로써 복합선미선형 개념이 비교적 광폭천흘수(廣幅淺吃水) 특성을 갖는 선형의 경우에 더욱 유력한 것임이 입증되었으며, 이러한 치수비의 선형에 적합한 늑골선의 형태도 찾을 수 있었다. 또한 본 연구에서는 일본의 'H사'에서 '90년에 개발한 동급선형을 선택하여 이론계산 및 한국해사 기술연구소에서의 도형시험에 의한 선형특성 및 성능의 비교를 수행하였으며, 그 결과 대우 선형은 종래의 "Moderate U형" 선미형상을 특징으로 하는 'H사'의 선형에 비하여 점성저항은 매우 작으면서도(형상계수 k가 0.30에서 0.75로 감소) 추진효율은 그다지 나쁘지 않아서, 만재상태나 경하상태에서 유효마력은 약10%, 전달마력은 5-6% 작은 것이 확인되었고 이론계산 결과도 이런 경향을 잘 설명해 줌을 알았다. 부수적으로, 형상계수가 통상의 것보다 매우 작은 경우에는 Froude방법 및 종래의 통계에 의한 상관 수정계수에 의한 저항시험결과의 실선화장은 실선저항을 지나치게 낮게 예측해줄 위험성이 있으므로 ITTC '78방법과 같은 형상계수의 도입이 보다 바람직한 것임을 확인하였다.
