Physical tests are performed at various stages of the development cycle of a product, from prototype validation to product qualification. Although costly, there are growing demands for qualification tests like endurance vibration testing to be more representative of the real world. At the same time there are growing demands to assess the durability of these items based on FEA simulation. In this paper, we will explain how to set up a CAE-based test and how to correlate the results with some physical measurements. Specific assumptions will be explained and some advantages of using virtual tests will be highlighted such as the reduction of the number of prototypes needed, investigations on failures, evaluation of the level of reliability via sensitivity analysis, evaluation of the margins are at the end of a successful test. This presentation will therefore focus on explaining and showing how virtual tests can enrich the exploitation of physical tests.

The purpose of this study is to determine the relevant variables of parent-leadership that influence family strength based on the transformational leadership and transactional leadership proposed by Bernard M. Bass and to investigate the primary impact of leadership on the subordinate's job satisfaction and job involvement to his/her supervisor. Therefore, this study will provide implications for the family through a diagnosis of the effect by leadership. The results of this research are as follows : 1) How is the relationship of parent-leadership and family strength? A positive correlation was found between transformational leadership scores and family strength. A negative correlation was found between nontransactional leadership scores and family strength. 2) How had transformational leadership and transactional leadership affected on the family strength? Transformational leadership had the strongest effect on family strength. How had the 7 sub- factors of transformational/transactional leadership affected family strength? Idealized influence and contingent reward had strong effect on family strength but management by except had a negative effect on family strength.

In 1997, Yongsan-gu Office of Seoul held a design competition for 'Hyochang Park as a holy Grounds'. Although various shrines and monuments were located in it, Hyochang Park had lost its sense of pace as a 'holy grounds' mostly by its neighborhood-park-like atmosphere at its entrance area. Specific requirement for this competition was designing a 'symbolic object' to make this park more 'holy grounds' looking. However, it was very regretable that Yongsan-gu Office did emphasized on the 'object' rather than on the space or place in this design competition. Three points were emphasized in the winning scheme proposed by the author: where the object be located in the park, how the object be connected with the rest of the park, and how the object harmonized with some of traditional looking architectures and shrines. The purpose of this paper is to articulate the concept of the winning entry in detail and to describe how the concept actualized in reality.

It is clear that when an automobile negotiates a curve the lateral acceleration causes an increase in tire normal load for the wheels on the outside of the curve and a decrease in load for the inside wheels. However, just how the details of the suspension linkages and the parameters of the springs and shock absorbers affect the dynamics of the load transfer os not easily understood. One even encounters the false idea that since it is the compression and extension of the main suspension springs spring body role which largely determines the changes in normal load, of roll could be reduced, the load transfer would also be reduced. Using free body diagrams, one can explain quite clearly how the load is transferred for steady state cornering, and, using complex multibody models of particular vehicles one can simulate in good fidelity how load transfer occurs dynamically. Here we adopt a middle ground by using the concept of roll center and using a series of half-car bond graph models to point out main effects. Since bond graph junction structures automatically and consistently constrain geometric and force variables simultaneously, they can be used to point out hidden assumptions of other simplified vehicle models.

"The Child culture" is defined as a children's life style in which they interpret their life-situations, using their comprehension system and living out their lives based on those interpretations. Although the current Korean culture of "studying (or learning)" which is referred to as a social phenomenon restraining lively childhood of children, the ideal child culture surely exists. For this research, the total number of 1,049 articles and dissertations published around the year 2000 were analyzed from dual perspectives : value and life of both children and adults. The research literature was reviewed in respect to the following categories : 1) the dimension of how children deal with home life including food, clothing, and shelter, 2) the domain within the boundary of elementary school to understand how they spend their important time, and 3) the domain out of elementary school to understand how they spend their leisure time.

Elementary school pupils frequently have difficult acquiring creative writing skills, i.e. how to develop the idea to be expressed, how to compose the materials of the outcome or contents. In this paper, we focus on the problems of how to support creative writing work to arrange materials in order to formulate ideas as the stories develop. the stories develop. The basic ideas behind the method are that(1) a basic story is automatically generated by GA-based operations and shown to a user as sequences of pictures, (2) IGA(Interactive Genetic Algorithm) is used to evaluate and select a preferred story, (3) the results are combined with previously stored stories using case-based techniques. Based on these ideas, we have developed a computer supported environment for this purpose and conducted related experiments.

We show Akari data, Herschel data and data from the SCUBA2 camera on JCMT, of molecular clouds. We focus on pre-stellar cores within the clouds. We present Akari data of the L1147-1157 ring in Cepheus and show how the data indicate that the cores are being externally heated. We present SCUBA2 and Herschel data of the Ophiuchus region and show how the environment is also affecting core evolution in this region. We discuss the effects of the magnetic field in the Lupus I region, and how this lends support to a model for the formation and evolution of cores in filamentary molecular clouds.

The purpose of this qualitative case study is to understand how the idea of data view and information graphics is used in the social studios middle school textbooks. Data were collected through national curriculum documents and social studies middle textbooks for 7-9 grades. We set up three questions for this studies; what kinds of information graphics are used in the textbooks, how the graphics are organized in the social studies middle school, and how the 7th social studies curriculum is related with the 7th national mathematics curriculum. Through the data analysis, we found that 1) Photographs, illustrations, information maps, etc., are used and frequencies of their usages are in descending order, 2) double lines graphs, circle graphs, and stripe graphs nip often adopted for the comparison of populations, 3) the relation of the two subjects curricula is not so good, especially in the curriculum steps of information mads scatter diagrams, and comparison of populations. Finally we suggest that new web site of data view or information graphics be provided for two curricula, workshop of information graphics are needed for social studies teachers.

This research study investigates the cultural significance and meaning of Thai Mudmee, their historical content, and the variety of the Thai Mudmee techniques, including patterns, symbol and colours. The aim has been to develop the traditional pattern and designs of the Thai Mudmee and produce contemporary textile pieces more appropriate for modern lifestyle tastes both in Thailand and Internationally. By reviving the Thai weaving tradition it is also hoped to encourage and maintain the continuous survival of tradition Mudmee, providing new sales opportunities and markets both in Thailand and abroad. Studying various attempts to redevelop traditional crafts in different countries brought to me the idea of how to develop folk crafts, the problems that occur in this area have encouraged me to express how folk crafts could be benefit from the design process. In this thesis I also express my recommendations for other researchers and the Thai government, as well as other people who interested in Mudmee design. The thesis concludes with the possibilities of how to improve the design of the Mudmee fabric and further areas of research.

Although computer technology has a great potential for improving mathematics learning practice, it rarely used in mathematics classroom. The purpose of this study is to suggest the future direction for research in mathematics computer technology. First, there has to be a research on mathematics curriculum that take computer technology into account. Second, research on teaching sequence for certain content area is needed. Because computer technology would change the order of teaching sequence. Third, how students would learn with computer technology? how do they acquire knowledge and make sense of it? Fourth, how could we assess the learning with computer technology? Most of all, because teachers play a key role to succeed in educational reform, they have to be familiar with computer technology and software to introduce it into mathematics learning and to use it properly.
