  • In this paper, we propose the structural design of Interval Type-2 FCM based RBFNN. Proposed model consists of three modules such as condition, conclusion and inference parts. In the condition part, Interval Type-2 FCM clustering which is extended from FCM clustering is used. In the conclusion part, the parameter coefficients of the consequence part are estimated through LSE(Least Square Estimation) and WLSE(Weighted Least Square Estimation). In the inference part, final model outputs are acquired by fuzzy inference method from linear combination of both polynomial and activation level obtained through Interval Type-2 FCM and acquired activation level through Interval Type-2 FCM. Additionally, The several parameters for the proposed model are identified by using differential evolution. Final model outputs obtained through benchmark data are shown and also compared with other already studied models' performance. The proposed algorithm is performed by using Iris and Vehicle data for pattern classification. For the validation of regression problem modeling performance, modeling experiments are carried out by using MPG and Boston Housing data.

  • Hanok has been widely distributed as a support policy by local governments for the purpose of improving residential environment. In this study, Hanok in a rural area was founded was to evaluate the user's satisfaction. Hanok between residents and the perception of architects and tries to figure out the difference. Current Hanok residents showed higher satisfaction, but they showed negative response for high construct cost, plane form of building, insulation performance and noise. According to the comparison of recognition between residents and architectural designers, they showed differences in "Low soundproofing", "lack of storage space", "Equipment", "Tile", "The modularity of the flat panel design", and "The modularity of construction materials" and it was examined that architectural designers group had higher preference for traditional materials and forms. For succeeding to the traditional architectural factors of Hanok and distributing it as modern house, the research on use of modern materials and modulation of plane and members should be performed for reducing construction cost and improving insulation performance.

  • A developed 800kV class composite hollow insulator for $SF_6$ Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) was tested as to insulation with their surfaces contaminated. The wet power frequency withstand voltage of the silicone rubber housing was about 135kV at an equivalent salt deposite density of $5kg/m^2$, to sufficiently satisfy the required performance. According to IEC 60507, the salt fog withstand voltage was measured at 565kV, and the highest measured leakage current was below 0.2mA. Therefore, it was clarified that the composite hollow insulator has sufficient insulation performance even when it is contaminated on the surface.

  • Design, manufacture and operate the 700W Solid oxide fuel cell system suitable for housing. Except for BOP not produced domestically, most of the domestic BOPs were applied as much as possible. Finally, the system size was 350 liter. System performance was electric efficiency 44.64%, thermal efficiency 40.99%, total efficiency 85.62% at certificate authority. The system was operated for 4,500 hours, this operation time include automatically system on/off, E-stop for emergency stop, load trip for blackout and inverter error. There were that the system on/off were 26 times. System performance remains intact after system on/off.

  • Purpose: International efforts to save Earth's environment against global warming and environmental pollution have been made in many countries. Energy consumption of buildings has been continuously increasing, and it has been over 40% of total energy consumption in the world. Energy consumption of buildings in Korea reaches 24% of total energy consumption. So, Korea government has executed building energy rating systems to control energy consumption of buildings. Method: This study was carried out to evaluate the energy performance of apartment unit plans according to converting balconies into living areas. For the study, six types of input models were made. Two input models(SP1 and SP 2) were the standard units that balcony areas were not converted into living areas, and four ones(EP 1, EP 2, EP 3 and EP 4) were the extended unit plans that balcony areas were turned into living areas. All of them were simulated with ECO2 software to assess building energy efficiency. Result: According to the results, the energy performance of the EP 2 and EP 4 models were 21. 8% higher than SP 1 model and 9.2% higher than SP 2 model.

  • As a means of improving cycle performance of a R410A air-conditioning system, a combined structure of compressor and expander was introduced. A vane rotary type expander was designed to share a common shaft with twin type rolling piston rotary compressor in a housing. Numerical simulation on the performance of the combined compressor and expander was carried out. At ARI condition, the volumetric and total efficiencies of the designed vane expander were 69.37% and 30.23%, respectively. With the application of this expander, the compressor input was reduced by 3.91%, and the cooling capacity was increased by 3.98%. As a result, COP of the air-conditioning system was improved by 8.2%. As the pressure difference between the condenser and the evaporator becomes large, COP improvement increases unless the mass flow rate in the expander exceeds that in the compressor.

  • A design combining the use of a compressor and expander was introduced in order to improve the cycle performance of a $CO_2$ automotive air conditioning system. Both the compressor and expander used were of rotary vane type and were designed to share a common shaft in a housing. Numerical simulation was carried out to evaluate the merit of the combined unit. In a typical automotive air conditioning operating conditions, the COP of the system was improved by 8.7% by the application of the combined unit. The compressor input was reduced by 5.2% through use of the expander output. In addition, about 3.06% increase in the cooling capacity was obtained through isentropic expansion in the expander. Our study noted that, as the pressure difference between the gas cooler and the evaporator becomes larger, the COP of the system improved increases unless the mass flow rate in the expander exceeds that in the compressor.

  • Since the using of heating energy associated with infiltration is significant in a building, the efforts to minimize the infiltration while ensuring minimum ventilation rates for various types of occupancy will be beneficial. In constrast to that many efforts have been made to reduce heat loss by improving thermal resistance of building envelope, little has been tried to reduce heat loss from infiltration. For achieving such an objective, measurement of air leakage rate will be pre-requisite as a diagnostic tool. A blower door system, a depressurization/pressurization method, was employed and it demonstrated a good potential for measuring airtightness performance of residential buildings. Based on the test results, annual energy savings for residential heating was estimated by reducing infiltration to a level of reasonably airtight or to a level of ASHRAE Standard 62-1989 for minimum ventilation.

  • Traditional base isolation systems focus on isolating the seismic response of a structure in the horizontal direction. However, in regions where the vertical earthquake excitation is significant (such as near-fault region), a traditional base-isolated building exhibits a significant vertical vibration. To eliminate this shortcoming, a rocking-isolated system named Telescopic Column (TC) is proposed in this paper. Detailed rocking and isolation mechanism of the TC system is presented. The seismic performance of the TC is compared with the traditional elastomeric bearing (EB) and friction pendulum (FP) base-isolated systems. A 4-storey reinforced concrete moment-resisting frame (RC-MRF) is selected as the reference superstructure. The seismic response of the reference superstructure in terms of column axial forces, base shears, floor accelerations, inter-storey drift ratios (IDR) and collapse margin ratios (CMRs) are evaluated using OpenSees. The results of the nonlinear dynamic analysis subjected to multi-directional earthquake excitations show that the superstructure equipped with the newly proposed TC is more resilient and exhibits a superior response with higher margin of safety against collapse when compared with the same superstructure with the traditional base-isolation (BI) system.

  • Reducer is a device to transmit and change torque and speed from drive shaft to driven shaft with excellent transmission efficiency, and it is widely used in many areas today. Reduction gear consists of two axes, gear, bearing supporting axes, and housing. The simplest method to transmit rotation or power to multiple axes is to attach circular plates to two axes and contact each other. However, in this case, if increasing number of rotations or if contact pressure is small, because of slipping, it cannot transmit power. For problems for the current reducer case, it is heavy and its assembling and repair is difficult. In addition, there are few studies about manufacturing and performance testing of worm gear reducer, causing lack of the foundation to improve the product competition and the performance.
