The purpose of this study is to set up systematically housing adaptation items for the aged family. Housing adaptation items are classified by universal design principles. Also, this paper suggest to basic data for setting up various ranges according to each elderly people's conditions, adapting for elderly housing. Recently, in relation to the growing awareness of the ageing population, the necessity of policies for "aging in place" was emphasized by government. This paper is focused on the policy of elderly housings' adaptation for making housing for a lifetime. This new adaptation items for the elderly housing lead to the revitalization of policy ensuring housing in stock at the local authority level. In this paper, adaptation items were created after analyzing indices highlighted by previous studies related to evaluation items, design-guidelines for safety plans, designing elderly housing. The scope of adaptation items was limited to the indoor spaces of apartment due to the considerable increase of in-house accidents. To sum up, this study is aimed to set up adaptation items and then, to present the basic scheme for several users offering various ranges

Financial supports for housing for the disabled is limited since a certain amount of budget needs to be distributed for a number of disabled families. Therefore, it is important to fund renovation for the disabled effectively and properly. Financial and administrative supports for the renovation which intended to improve housing conditions in terms of accessibility (barrier free) and comfort needs to be implemented with larger outcome and smaller budget. The purpose of this study was to investigate various factor such as renovation cost and renovation elements, influence satisfaction of residents with disabilities. Participants of this study are limited to the recipients of financial supports for housing renovation and refurbishment from City of Seoul and Ministry of Heal and Welfare. A total of 155 cases were analyzed using post occupancy survey and analysis of project cost data. Overall, more cost were used for modification for housing condition improvement than the cost for removal of architectural barriers. Renovation cost differences were not apparent among the type and extent of an individual's disabilities. Instead existing housing type and physical condition for the housing affects cost for renovation more significantly. Overall the renovation cost is positively related to resident's satisfaction using regression analysis.

Following natural disasters, there is a need to develop temporary housing through the rapid installation of mass-produced prefabricated housing. This study has developed a model construction manual for prefabricated temporary housing installable in underground spaces. First, the temporary housing prototype was drawn based on opinion poll results from earlier studies. $4.32m^2$ was calculated as the basic unit of the temporary housing living space for one person. Units included panel type, box type and mixed-type, for a variety of field conditions and scales. In order to enable space expansion and movement desirable to the user, the prototype was combination of panel and box types. The drawn prototype was utilized as the basic design template for producing prototypes and for the manual. Second, the possibility of utilizing subway stations as temporary housing was verified through the production of the prototype, and the construction process was summarized in the manual. The manual was developed in the form of a checklist to provide a guideline for users to build with prefab materials.

This study aimed to aimed to obtain some basis data for the housing consultation and information about housing through survey of needs for the housing consultation. Respondents were housewives from 395 households living in Seoul area. Questionnaire was used for survey and the collected data were classified by two items such as types of residence and age of housewives. The survey was performed during two weeks in September 1997 and analyzed by frequency mean and percentage using SAS program The finding are as follows; (1) According to the actual conditions of housing consultation the main source of information related to housing was a newspaper Those who had experience detached house had much more opportunities than those of multi-family house. The most frequent agency for housing consultation was a realty dealer showing 65.8%. However the percentage of visiting permanent housing exhibition centers was high among the people aged 20 to 30, noted 20.4%. (2) Level of understanding housing consultation showed 3.45 points among 5. This result indicated that the service system of housing consultation were required. Architects and interior designers were most preferred as specialists whom the respondents wanted to consult with . As to the contents of consultation the most required item was changing of interior space(22.6%). In case the housing information leaflet is sold the respondents were willing to pay 523 won for each of it. (3) Among leaflets related to various information leaflets about housing purchase were most preferred(21.0%) According to the result of the survey the need for the information about housing purchase indicated higher preference than about housing management. The fact could be thought that consumers' consciousness of housing should be changed. Therefore it is desirable to lead consumers to lengthen the expected life span of their house and value happiness of the house by providing them with consulting systems about housing management throug housing consultation materials and development of its programs.

The purpose of this study was to investigate housing DB construction for elderly people. Document research and content analysis methods were used in this study. The major results of this study are as follows. The number of elderly household is increasing very rapidly. In particular, they consist of a single person or a couple. These households prefer to live and age in a detached house. However, the social welfare system does not satisfy their needs. Therefore a systematic social support or welfare system is required to reflect their needs. For example, related works of housing welfare need to be prepared so that their data base system correctly reflects the socio-demographic characteristics and living conditions of the elderly.

In this study, the basic concepts of future housing which can be applicable in the future were established in the change of the various elements such as social conditions, life style and the development of technology, etc. To apply this concepts, the HightEco(High Technology and Ecology) Apartment was presented as a new model. The characteristics of this HighEco Apartment are as follows. 1) 'Intelligent Housing' which are based on high technology and info information. 2）'Ecology Housing' which are based on environmental controls and energy savings. And, according to the analyzed results of the examples of apartment, the guidelines of the technical elements and differential models for the development of HightEco Apartment were presented.

The purpose of this paper is to develop a space program of the new community center in multi-family housing. The community center defined in this study is a communal facility which integrate cultural and welfare facilities and activity programs into a complex. Through the analysis of the community programs and spaces for multi-family housing community, a new community center program is proposed. And basic area guidelines are proposed through the making of the space modelling of the important area of the center. According to the guidelines, more spaces compared to the present standards and conditions are needed for a new community center. However, the adjustment of area regulation is essential, considering the fast changing trend of resident's social needs. A new regulation system that controls the total area of function spaces of a community center, rather than controlling each function and area, is required. This kind of system makes it possible to decide programs freely within the limit of total floor area regulation by neighborhood's characteristics and residents'preference.

The purpose of this study is to find out the effective planning guidelines of elderly housing fur the aged people living with their sons or daughters. To investigate the actual conditions and the problems of housing environments, two hundred and six old people in Gwangiu city, aged over sixty and living with their sons and daughters, were interviewed individually and they provided the useful answers to the questions. The houses for three generations need to have the proper degree of privacy fur each family member, by arranging rooms for their own independent living space while securing the sufficient common space. Therefore, independent and safe living environments are to be made for the elderly and the choice of various types be made according to their own demands. It is also necessary to guarantee the continuation of inhabitation by establishing health care systems and life support services.

The transmission system of a washing machine which is called by the clutch is one of the most important components to preserve the performance. The clutch housing has a role to guard and mount the transmission system on the frame of the machine. The load which is applied on the clutch housing depends on the operating conditions. Nowadays the dehydration speed is higher and higher in order to improve the efficiency. In this study, the strains on the predicted weak positions were measured using the strain gage and its measuring equipment. The relationships between the dehydration speeds and the maximum principal strains were obtained. Finite element analysis is executed to acquire the effect of the dehydration speed on the stress of the clutch housing. The distributions of the equivalent stress and the maximum stresses under the various speeds, the various loading directions and the various thickness of the clutch housing were obtained.

The balance shaft housing in the recent engines tends to have the high cycle fatigue crack caused by increased engine power. In this paper, a CAE procedure is introduced to predict the durability of the balance shaft housing. The procedure is performed through two analysis steps. In the first step, the multibody dynamic simulation is used to obtain more accurate loading boundary conditions applied to the finite element model for the following step. Next, the finite element analysis is performed to predict the durability of the balance shaft housing through the calculation of the safety factor. Through this CAE procedure, the revised balance shaft housing was developed to improve the durability. And the durability of the housing was confirmed experimentally.
