Optical implementation of the Hough transform for both line and circle parameterization by use of rotationally multiplexed holograms (회전다중 홀로그램을 이용한 선 및 원 파라미터화를 위한 Hough 변환의 광학적 구현)

  • We explain that a holographic filter of the generalized Hough transform can be easily obtained by use of rotational multiplexing in hologram recording. To show the feasibility of our approach experimentally, we recorded the Hough transform filter of both line and circle parameterization by combined use of rotational and angle multiplexing. Experimental results on the Hough transform for a few input patterns are presented.

  • 본 논문에서는 도로 주변의 나무와 건물, 그리고 옆 차선의 차량 등에 의한 그림자의 영향을 최소화하며 차선을 검출할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다 우선 Hough transform을 수행하는 데 있어서 계산 시간을 줄이기 위하여 에지 영상에서 수평 투영을 통하여 vanishing line을 검출하였으며, vanishing line 아래 부분에서만 Hough transform을 수행하였다. 그리고 차선 검출을 위하여 Hough 평면에서 θ을 16등분하여 rough한 차선을 검출하였으며, 도로 형태에 대한 사전 지식을 이용하여 차선 검출을 시도하였다. 도로 주변상황이 다른 두 종류의 연속 영상들에 의한 실험 결과, 도로형태에 대하여 가정한 사전 지식과 유사한 영상들에 대하여 차선을 정확하게 검출하였다.

  • 이 논문은 다양한 환경에서도 차선 검출이 가능하도록 하기 위해 각종 Edge detection algorithm을 이용하고 있다. Roberts 연산 후 이진화를 행함으로써 미세한 부분까지 예지를 얻고 있으며, 이것은 다시 영역을 분할 후 Hough transform을 행한다. 또한 기울기 및 주변 값을 이용하여 차선 인식률을 높이고 있다. 그리고, Hough transform의 단점인 시간이 오래 걸리는 단점을 해결하기 위해 이미지 크기를 축소하는 방법과 영역 분할과 같은 방법을 통해서 이를 해결하고자 한다.

  • The connectivity weighted Hough transform is a useful method for detecting well-connected short lines without generating false lines yet requires extensive computation. This letter describes a method that reduces the computation of the connectivity weighted Hough transform by removing unnecessary weight calculations using the gradient angles of feature points. In simulations with synthetic images and experiments with liquid crystal display panel images, the proposed method showed significantly improved speed without compromising detectability.

  • We have shown that the Hough transform filter can be easily obtained by repeatedly recording one line segment pattern holographically by use of rotational multiplexing. With this filter, one can get resutls of the hough transform in the time of light propagation. To demonstrate our method experimentally, the hough transform filter for 18 different rottion angles was recorded, and experimental transform results were compared with simulated ones for a few input patterns. By introducing a compensation process for the non-uniformity of both the input plane wav eand the diffraction efficiency of each hologram. It is possible to get more precise transform results.

  • Though the Hough transform is a well-known method for detecting analytical shape represented by a number of free parameters, the basic property of the Hough transform, the one-to-many mapping from an image space to a Hough space, causes the innate problem, the sensitivity to noise. To remedy this problem, Edge Strength Hough Transform (ESHT) was proposed and proved to reduce the noise sensitivity. However the performance of ESHT depends on the size of a Hough space and image and some other parameters, which play an important role in ESHT and should be decided experimentally. In this paper, we derived a formula to decide decreasing parameter. Using the derived formulae, the decreasing parameter value can be decided only with the pre-determined values, the size of a Hough space and an image, which make it possible to decide them automatically.

  • A new analytic method has been developed for the analysis of sperm morphology using Hough transform. This method is based on the characteristic that sperm heads have elliptic shape in addition to the density difference with the background Sperm heads are represented in elliptic form with five parameter, and the optimal parameters are estimated by iterative Hough transform. To reduce processing time practically, we restricted the transformed space in minimum volume and moved the searching volume to the maximum gradient for the estimated error. Morphological parameters were calculated from estimated sperm head boundaries without further processing.

  • Searching the region of interest on the Hough transform domain is done to determine the real road boundary on the high speed way. The mathematical morphology is employed to obtain the gradient image which is utilized in Hough transform. Many possible candidates of lines could appear on the ordinary road environment and simple selection of the strongest line segments likely to be fault boundary lines. To solve such problem, the search area for the candidates of the road boundary which is called the region of interest is limited on the Hough space. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm has been shown with experimental results.

  • In this paper, we propose an object-tracking of mobile robots using CHT(Circular Hough transform) algorithm. The proposed method extracts the region of moving objects using 1-D projection algorithm, and detects circular objects using CHT. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed tracking method, we perform experiments of ball shape object-tracking using mobile robot based on ARM processor with CMOS camera.
