Fabric fibrous filter has been used in various industrial applications owing to the low cost and wide generality. However, the basic properties of fabric materials often limit the practical utilization including hot gas cleaning. This study attempts to find new coatings of porous fibrous filter media in order to overcome its insufficient thermal resistance and durability. Teflon was one of the plausible chemicals to supplement the vulnerability against frequent external thermal impacts. A foaming agent composed of Teflon and some organic additives was tentatively coated on the glass fiber mat. The present test Teflon foam coated filter was fount to be useful for hot gas cleaning, up to $250^{\circ}C$-$300^{\circ}C$. Close examination using XPS(X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy) and Contact angle proved the binding interactions between carbon and fluorine, which implies coating stability. The PTFE/Glass foam coated filter consisted of more than 95% (C-F)n bond, and showed super-hydrophobic with good-oleophobic characteristics. The contact angle of liquid droplets on the filter surface enabled to find the filter wet-ability against liquid water or oil.

CuO catalyst-coated alumino-silicate fiber filters were prepared for the simultaneous removal of particulate matter and gaseous contaminants such as NOx and SOx. Hot gas cleaning experiments similar to Shell UOP process other than the catalyst supporting materials were carried out between 300 and $500^{\circ}C$ for the evaluation of the gas removal efficiency of the catalytic filter. Experimental results showed that removel efficiency for $SO_2$ was greater than 99% in the temperature range 450~$500^{\circ}C$ and more than 90% of NO was collected between 350 and $370^{\circ}C$. It was found that the higher the CuO content, the higher the removal efficiency for $SO_2$. Removal efficiency for NO was more affected by the gas cleaning temperature than by the CuO content in the catalyst-filter.
The mounting technology of ceramic candle elements utilizing disk spring was tested in a hot bench unit. Seven SiC candle elements were fixed in three groups by 2, 2, and 3 elements per group. And its performance was investigated in a hot gas stream using oil burned-exhaust gas. The experimental results showed that this mounting method gave a good performance enough to be useful for the particulate removal in the integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC). Some operational characteristics of the groupfilter were observed.
Computational studies have been performed to analyze the particle loadings onto the filters according to the different inflow pattern of dusty gas and the flow uniformities on the filter surface of back-blown gas at different permeability of porous media setup at the filter outlet. This is preliminary study to find how we can reduce the regeneration time and improve the regeneration efficiency of filters with dust layer.

Chemical mechanical polishing(CMP) process is widely used for global planarization of inter-metal dielectric (IMD) layer and inter-layer dielectric (ILD) for deep sub-micron technology. However, as the IMD and ILD layer gets thinner, defects such as micro-scratch lead to severe circuit failure, which affect yield. In this paper, for the improvement of CMP Process, deionized water (DIW) pressure, purified $N_2$ (P$N_2$) gas, slurry filter and high spray bar were installed. Our experimental results show that DIW pressure and P$N_2$ gas factors were not related with removal rate, but edge hot-spot of patterned wafer had a serious relation. Also, the filter installation in CMP polisher could reduce defects after CMP process, it is shown that slurry filter plays an important role in determining consumable pad lifetime. The filter lifetime is dominated by the defects. However, the slurry filter is impossible to prevent defect-causing particles perfectly. Thus, we suggest that it is necessary to install the high spray bar of de-ionized water (DIW) with high pressure, to overcome the weak-point of slurry filter. Finally, we could expect the improvements of throughput, yield and stability in the ULSI fabrication process.
Computational simulation has been performed to design the filtration system for Korea model IGCC demonstration plant. The filtration system for optimal design has four effective filters corresponding to the clusters composed of a group of ceramic candle filters. It was analyzed how the different entrance geometry influences the flow field and the particle behavior in the filtration system. The particle loading is minimum when the gas mixed with particles flows into the filter vessel with a shroud tube through a tangential inlet. However, the particle loading is maximum when the gas with particles enters the filter vessel through a normal inlet which a entrance tube extended from. By controling adequately both conditions of inflow, the filtration system can be operated optimally to prolong the filter life-time and to save the energy for cleaning filters.
Purpose : Methode an effective block was investigated to deal with volatile radioactive gas, short lived radioactive waste generated as a result of the routinely produced radiopharmaceuticals FDG (2-deoxy-2-[$^{18}F$]fluoro-D-glucose) and compound with $^{11}C$. Materials and Methods : All components of the radiation stack monitoring and data management system for continuous radioactive gas detection in the air extract system purchase from fixed noble gas monitor of Berthold company. TEDLAR gas sampling bags purchase from the Dongbanghitech company. TEDLAR gas sampling bags (volume: 10 L) connected via paraflex or PTFE tubing and Teflon 3 way stopcock. When installing TEDLAR gas sampling bags in Hot cell on the inside and not radioactive gas concentrations were compared. According to whether the Hot cell inside a activated carbon filter installed, compare the difference in concentration of the radioactive gas $^{18}F$. Comparison of radiation emission concentration difference of module a FASTlab and TRACElab. Results : Activated carbon filter are installed in the Hot cell, a measure of the concentration of radioactive gas was 8 $Bq/m^3$. Without activated carbone filter in the hot cell was 300 $Bq/m^3$. Tedlar bag prior to installation of the radioactive gases a measure of the concentration was 3,500 $Bq/m^3$, $^{11}C$ synthesis of the measured concentration was 27,000 $Bq/m^3$. After installed a Tedlar bag and a measure concentration of the radioactive gases was 300 $Bq/m^3$ and $^{11}C$ synthesis was 1,000$Bq/m^3$. Conclusion : $^{11}C$ radioactive gas that was ejected out of the Hot cell, with the use of a Tedlar gas sampling bag stored inside. A compound of 11C is not absorbed onto activated carbon filter. But can block the release out by storing in a Tedlar gas sampling bag. We was able to reduce the radiation exposure of the worker by efficient radiation protection.

Gas filtration at high temperature from industrial processes offers various advantages such as increasing process efficiency, improving heat recovery and materials resource recovery, etc. At the same time, it is an advanced environment protection technology. This paper describes a newly developed metallic filter element. The manufacturing process of sintered $Fe_3Al$ metallic powder and the mechanical and filtration characteristics of this filter element were investigated. In this work, the phase constituent changes of the $Fe_3Al$ powder during sintering were studied. The newly developed filter elements were found to have excellent corrosion resistance, good thermal resistance, high strength and high filtration efficiency.
In this study, the high performance hybrid chemical filter (HPHCF) was prepared by web spray using hot melt adhesive. The material of HPHCF was conditionally made of ion exchange resin and PP non-woven fabric. The optimum temperature and pressure for manufacturing of HPHCF conditions were such as $170^{\circ}C$ and 50 psi, respectively. The characteristics of preparated HPHCF and their adsorption properties of ammonia gas were investigated. The ion exchange capacity (IEC) of HPHCF was increased with increasing the resin contents and their values were higher than pure resin and ion exchange fabrics. The removal efficiency for ammonia gas increased with the increase of packing density of hybrid ion exchange fabrics in the column. It showed 13 min which the adsorption breakthrough time was slower than resin and fibers. The maximum value of adsorption for ammonia gas was 98 percent. And also, the velocity was increased with increasing concentration and flow rate of ammonia gas.

Protection of gas turbine blade from its erosion and abrasion at high temperature and pressure is the first goal to cleanup the hot gas upstream for IGCC and PFBC. Ceramic filters represent an attractive technology for particle removal at high temperature and high pressure condition. They have demonstrated being a good system for improvement of thermal efficiency and reduction of effluent pollutants in advanced coal-based power systems such as IGCC and PFBC. Ceramic filter elements currently being developed were evaluated in the previous paper. In this paper, we measured the ash size and distribution on cleaning of ceramic candle filter. The results are as follows : in this experimental range, ceramic candle filter was shown to be fully adequate for the removal process of dust under high temperature and pressure. Also filtration efficiency of ceramic candle filter was higher than 98% compared with the regulation limit of particle size in gas turbine inlet.
