Single crystalline ${ZnIn_2}{Se_4}$ layers were grown on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs (100) substrate at $400^{\circ}C$ with hot wall epitaxy (HWE) system by evaporating ${ZnIn_2}{Se_4}$ source at $630^{\circ}C$. The crystalline structure of the single crystalline thick films was investigated by the photoluminescence (PL) and Double crystalline X-ray rocking curve (DCRC). The carrier density and mobility of ${ZnIn_2}{Se_4}$ single crystalline thick films measured from Hall effect by van der Pauw method are $9.41{\times}10^{16}cm^{-3}$ and $292cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ at 293 K, respectively. The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the ${ZnIn_2}{Se_4}$ obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, $E_g(T)$=1.8622 eV-$(5.23{\times}10^{-4}eV/K)T^2$/(T+775.5 K). After the as-grown ${ZnIn_2}{Se_4}$ single crystalline thick films was annealed in Zn-, Se-, and In-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of ${ZnIn_2}{Se_4}$ single crystalline thick films has been investigated by the photoluminescence (PL) at 10 K. The native defects of $V_{Zn}$, $V_{Se}$, $Zn_{int}$, and $Se_{int}$ obtained by PL measurements were classified as a donors or acceptors type. And we concluded that the heat-treatment in the Se-atmosphere converted ${ZnIn_2}{Se_4}$ single crystalline thick films to an optical p-type. Also, we confirmed that In in ${ZnIn_2}{Se_4}$/GaAs did not form the native defects because In in ${ZnIn_2}{Se_4}$ single crystalline thick films existed in the form of stable bonds.

A silver indium sulfide ($AgInS_2$) epilayer was grown by the hot wall epitaxy method, which has not been reported in the literature. The grown $AgInS_2$ epilayer has found to be a chalcopyrite structure and evaluated to be high quality crystal. From the photocurrent measurement in the temperature range from 30 K to 300 K, the two peaks of A and B were only observed, whereas the three peaks of A, B, and C were seen in the PC spectrum of 10 K. These peaks are ascribed to the band-to-band transition. The valence band splitting of $AgInS_2$ was investigated by means of the photocurrent measurement. The crystal field splitting, $\Delta_{cr}$ , and the spin orbit splitting, $\Delta_{so}$ , have been obtained to be 0.150 eV and 0.009 eV at 10 K, respectively. And, the energy band gap at room temperature has been determined to be 1.868 eV. Also, the temperature dependence of the energy band gap, $E_{g}$(T), was determined.d.
This investigation is carried out numerically for the two dimensional natural convection and surface radiation heat transfer in a square enclosure. The bottom wall is a constant heat flux at hot temperature and also top wall is isothermal at cold temperature whereas the left and right side walls are adiabatic except a transparent window on the right side partially. The exchange of radiant energy is obtained by the net radiation method and the shape factor by the crossed string method. The change in temperature and Nusselt number distributions of the walls due to the effect of the wall emissivity for various emissivities and for various dimensionless insolation energies are investigated. The dimensionless local convective heat flux and local radiative heat flux distributions in the wall except an adiabatic wall are also compared.
The local wall shear stress in transitional boundary layer was estimated from the near-wall mean velocity data using the principle of Computational Preston Tube Method(CPM). The previous DNS and experimental databases of transitional boundary layers were used to demonstrate the accuracy of the method and to provide the applicable range of wall unit y(sup)+. The skin friction coefficients predicted by the CPM agreed well with those from previous studies. To reexamine the applicability of CPM, near-wall hot-wire measurement were conducted in developing transitional boundary layers on a flat plate with different freestream turbulence intensities. The intermittency profiles across the transitional boundary layers were reasonably obtained from the conditional sampling technique. An empirical correlation between the representative intermittency near the wall and free parameter K$_1$of the extended wall function of CPM has been newly proposed using the present and other experimental data. The CPM has been verified as a useful tool to measure the wall shear stress in transitional boundary layer with reasonable accuracy.

A stoichiometric. mixture of evaporating materials for $CuGaSe_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal electric furnace. Using extrapolation method of X-ray diffraction patterns for the polycrystal $CuGaSe_2$, it was found tetragonal structure whose lattice constant $a_0$ and $c_0$ were $5.615\;{\AA}$ and $11.025\;{\AA}$, respectively. To obtain the single crystal thin films, $CuGaSe_2$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the hot wall epitaxy (HWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were $610^{\circ}C$ and $450^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of the single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction (DCXD). The carrier density and mobility of $CuGaSe_2$ single crystal thin films measured with Hall effect by van der Pauw method are $4.87{\times}10^{17}\;cm^{-3}$ and $129\;cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ at 293 K, respectively. The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the $CuGaSe_2$ obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, $E_g(T)\;=\;1.7998\;eV\;-\;(8.7489\;{\times}\;10^{-4}\;eV/K)T^2/(T\;+\;335\;K)$.

A stoichimetric mixture of evaporating materials for $AgInS_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films. $AgInS_2$mixed crystal was deposited on thorughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the Hot wall Epitaxy (HWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were $680^{\circ}C$ and $410^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of the single thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction(DCXD). The carrier density and mobility of $AgInS_2$ single crystal the films measured from Hall effect by van der Pauw method are $9.35\times 10^{16}/\terxtm{cm}^3$ and $294\terxtm{cm}^2$/V.s at 293 K, respectively. From the optical absorption measurement the temperature dependence of the energy band gap on AgInS$_2$ single crystal thin film was found to be $E_g$(T)= 2.1365eV-($9.89\times 10^{-3}eV/T^2$/(2930+T). After the as-grown $AgInS_2$ single crystal thin films was annealed in $Ag^-S^-$ and In-atmospheres, the origin of point defects of AgInS$_2$ single crystal the films has been investigated by using the photoluminescence(PL) at 10K. A stoichiometric mixture of evaporating materials for $CuInSe_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal electric furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, $CuInSe_2$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the hot wall epitaxy (HWE) system. The source and substrate temperatures were $620^{\circ}C$ and $410^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of the single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction (DCXD). The carrier density and mobility of $CuInSe_2$ single crystal thin films measured with Hall effect by van der Pauw method are $9.62{\times}10^{l6}\;cm^{-3}$ and $296\;cm^2/V{\cdot}s$ at 293 K, respectively. The temperature dependence of the energy band gap of the $CuInSe_2$ obtained from the absorption spectra was well described by the Varshni's relation, $E_g(T)\;=\;1.1851\;eV\;-\;(8.99{\times}10^{-4}\;eV/K)T^2/(T+153K)$. The crystal field and the spin-orbit splitting energies for the valence band of the $CuInSe_2$ have been estimated to be 0.0087 eV and 0.2329 eV at 10K, respectively, by means of the photocurrent spectra and the Hopfield quasicubic model. These results indicate that the splitting of the ${\Delta}_{so}$ definitely exists in the $\Gamma_6$ states of the valence band of the $CuInSe_2$. The three photocurrent peaks observed at 10K are ascribed to the $A_1-$, $B_1-$, and $C_1$-exciton peaks for n = 1.

The photoconductive $CdGa_2Se_4$ layer was grown through the hot wall epitaxy method. From the photocurrent (PC) measurements, the three peaks in the PC spectra were associated with the band-to-band transitions. The PC intensities were observed to decrease with decreasing temperature. The valence-band splitting on $CdGa_2Se_4$ was also observed by means of the PC spectroscopy. The crystal field splitting and the spin orbit splitting turned out to be 0.1604 and 0.4179 eV at 10 K, respectively.

An Eulerian-Lagrangian method is employed to simulate the ignition process and the flame propagation through the air/fuel spray mixture in a closed constant-volume combustor. The spray mixture is ignited by providing a hot wall at the end of the combustor or by firing the electric spark. The investigated parameters involve the initial droplet size, overall equivalence ratio, initial fuel vapor concentration, distance between the hot wall and the nearest droplet, and the ignition energy. Numerical results clearly show the existence of the optimum spray condition for minimizing the ignition energy and the ignition delay time as well as the critical dependence of ignition upon the distance of the heat source to the nearest droplet.
