클러터가 존재하는 환경에서의 HPDA를 이용한 다중 표적 자동 탐지 및 추적 알고리듬 연구 (A Study of Automatic Multi-Target Detection and Tracking Algorithm using Highest Probability Data Association in a Cluttered Environment)

  • In this paper, we present a new approach for automatic detection and tracking for multiple targets. We combine a highest probability data association(HPDA) algorithm for target detection with a particle filter for multiple target tracking. The proposed approach evaluates the probabilities of one-to-one assignments of measurement-to-track and the measurement with the highest probability is selected to be target- originated, and the measurement is used for probabilistic weight update of particle filtering. The performance of the proposed algorithm for target tracking in clutter is compared with the existing clustering algorithm and the sequential monte carlo method for probability hypothesis density(SMC PHD) algorithm for multi-target detection and tracking. Computer simulation studies demonstrate that the HPDA algorithm is robust in performing automatic detection and tracking for multiple targets even though the environment is hostile in terms of high clutter density and low target detection probability.

  • Spent nuclear fuel is very dangerous substance emitting strong ionizing radiation which is harmful to human body. The remote handling of spent nuclear fuel is essential because people cannot access this substance without protecting radiation. To handle highly radioactive material or nuclear waste, many kinds of teleoperators such as master slave manipulator, electro mechanical manipulator, servo manipulator, mobile robot was developed. The distance and dimension of target object cannot be measured easily when highly radioactive material is handled by teleoperator because one should use lead glass or TV camera and monitor to protect radiation and see target object. During experiments on the remote handling of spent nuclear fuel by electro mechanical manipulator, we often felt that a distance and dimension measurement system is necessary to handle the objects which is in the highly radioactive environment, so we developed a system which is appropriate for this purpose.

  • A Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) is a flexible data communication system implemented as an extension to, or as an alternative for, a wired LAN with in a building or campus. However, communications in an indoor environment present problems not encountered in outdoor wireless communication systems. Since cellular type systems are interference limited, the indoor environment is more hostile than the outdoor environment due to the lower propagation constant. In this paper, the equation for the signal to interference ratio in a multistory building will be derived. Knowing the S/I ratio, the floor frequency reuse can be determined. Finally, the simulation in this research is designed to study the performance (BER) of WLAN system in the multistory environment by applying the 8-PSK Trellis Coded modulation technique. The procedure allows a quick evaluation of BER in Wireless LAN system due to the co-channel interference.

부모-자녀 독서상호작용 프로그램 개발 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of a Parent-Child Reading Interaction Program)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate a parent-child reading interaction program. Based on the importance of the parent-child relationship and the home literacy environment vis-a-vis the extent to which reading is encouraged, and with regard to the existing empirical research in this field, a five-session parent-child reading interaction program has been developed, targeting 18 parents with children enrolled in th lower grades of elementary school. The effectiveness of this program has been evaluated by a pretest and post test and then analyzed by a paired t-test. The findings are as follows: 1) Following the implementation of this program, there were improvements in scores related to the home literacy environment, the encouragement of reading, and the attitude of the child toward reading. 2) In addition, there was an increase in the level of the mother's "rational guidance" parenting while tendencies toward overprotective and hostile parenting traits declined. The importance of the parent-child relationship and home literacy environment concerning reading guidance was discussed.

A Study on the Efficacy of Edge-Based Adversarial Example Detection Model: Across Various Adversarial Algorithms

  • 딥러닝 모델(Deep Learning Model)은 컴퓨터 비전(Computer Vision) 분야의 이미지(Image) 분류 및 객체 탐지와 같은 작업에서 뛰어난 성과를 보이며, 실제 산업 현장에서 다양하게 활용되고 있다. 최근 다양한 알고리즘(Algorithm)의 적대적 예제를 이용하여 딥러닝 모델의 취약성을 지적하며, 강건성 향상 방안을 제시하는 연구들이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 적대적 예제는 오분류를 유도하기 위해 작은 노이즈(Noise)가 추가된 이미지로서, 딥러닝 모델을 실제 환경에 적용 시 중대한 위협이 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 알고리즘의 적대적 예제를 대상으로 에지 학습 분류 모델의 강건성 및 이를 이용한 적대적 예제 탐지 모델의 성능을 확인하고자 하였다. 강건성 실험 결과, FGSM(Fast Gradient Sign Method) 알고리즘에 대하여 기본 분류 모델이 약 17%의 정확도를 보였으나, 에지(Edge) 학습 모델들은 60~70%대의 정확도를 유지하였고, PGD(projected gradient descent)/DeepFool/CW(Carlini-Wagner) 알고리즘에 대해서는 기본 분류 모델이 0~1%의 정확도를 보였으나, 에지 학습 모델들은 80~90%의 정확도를 유지하였다. 적대적 예제 탐지 실험 결과, FGSM/PGD/DeepFool/CW의 모든 알고리즘에 대해서 91~95%의 높은 탐지율을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통하여 다양한 적대적 알고리즘에 대한 방어 가능성을 제시함으로써, 컴퓨터 비전을 활용하는 여러 산업 분야에서 딥러닝 모델의 안전성 및 신뢰성 제고를 기대한다.

우리나라 운항환경을 고려한 소형 고속정의 타당성 분석 (Feasibility Study on High Speed Craft Considering Environment in South Korea)

  • The Korea navy has a vital national interest in maritime security. The national strategy for maritime security focuses on preventing terrorism, crime, and hostile acts in the maritime domain. This requires the development of high speed crafts for maritime security in the South Korea domain. This paper reviews the state of the art on the development of high speed craft internationally, including efforts by the U.S. navy, and analyses the riverine environment to operate high speed crafts in South Korea. This paper makes specific proposals for high speed craft such as their main dimensions, speed, endurance, hull structure material, propulsion system, and general arrangement and 3D shape. This paper was used in the generation of basic resources for future ROC (requirement of capability) of high speed crafts using an engineering methodology.

  • The international COSPAS-SARSAT program is a satellite-based search and rescue distress alert detection and information distribution system and best known as the system that detects and locates emergency beacons activated by aircraft, ships and so on. However, the current message format of the system is not encrypted so that, if the rescue signal can be intercepted by the unintended receivers, the subsequent rescue activities can be handled in a hostile environment. So, this article concerns how to deal with the rescue signals in a secure way and proposes some adequate encryption methods and the corresponding key management.

A Multi-Strategic Concept-Spotting Approach for Robust Understanding of Spoken Korean

  • We propose a multi-strategic concept-spotting approach for robust spoken language understanding of conversational Korean in a hostile recognition environment such as in-car navigation and telebanking services. Our concept-spotting method adopts a partial semantic understanding strategy within a given specific domain since the method tries to directly extract predefined meaning representation slot values from spoken language inputs. In spite of partial understanding, we can efficiently acquire the necessary information to compose interesting applications because the meaning representation slots are properly designed for specific domain-oriented understanding tasks. We also propose a multi-strategic method based on this concept-spotting approach such as a voting method. We present experiments conducted to verify the feasibility of these methods using a variety of spoken Korean data.

  • As the optical disk drives are designed for portable and hostile environment, they have a possibility to miss the track and not to read the data. The shock response of optical disk drives must be analyzed. This research shows the shock response analysis of the optical disk drive. The optical disk drive is modeled as the lumped parameter system in consideration of the pickup and the disk. The lumped parameter model is compared with finite element model in order to verify results. Finally, shock responses are compared with the change of the shock magnitude and the duration.
