와이어 본더용 Horn-Holder Assembly의 접촉 해석 (Contact Analysis on a Born-Holder Assembly for Wire Bonding)

  • Joint structure of a transducer horn-holder assembly fur a wire bonder was examined through FEM contact analysis. A three dimensional modeling and analysis was carried out to survey the internal physics of this structure and to prove the accuracy of a computation compared to a measurement. After validation, a simple two dimensional model was built fur various parametric study considering the efficiency and speed of the computation. Several factors such as boundary conditions, a modeling boundary, mesh density and so on, were considered to obtain consistency with three dimensional analysis. An arc angle and a position of each holder boss were chosen as design parameters. A design of experiment was applied to find out an optimized design of the holder geometry. As a result, a guideline for holder boss design was suggested and main factors and their influence on stress concentration in the transducer horn were surveyed.

  • Transforming small ultrasonic energy into large mechanical energy is the essential feature of ultrasonic vibration in various application fields. This energy amplification can be obtained by achieving resonance condition between booster or tool horn and transducer. When it has uniform section with small sectional area, one dimensional analysis provides good estimation of the natural frequency of the horn. But, for arbitrary shape of horn, one dimensional analysis can no longer be applied. At present, designing tool horn whose natural frequency is identical to that of transducer requires serveral stages of trial and error in actual manufacturing process. In this paper, frequency analysis program is developed to easily predict the natural frequency of ultrasonic vibration cutting tool with axisymmetry and 3- dimensional shape using finite element method.

  • 본 연구에서는 초음파 진동에너지가 융합된 커팅기용 공구 혼 제작에 대한 기초 연구 자료를 제작하고자 이론적방법과 유한요소해석을 병행하여 설계하였다. 고 성능의 초음파 절단을 진행하기 위해서는 횡진동이 아닌 종진동으로만 진동해야 하며, 기계적 진동에너지를 효율적으로 전달하기 위해 출력부에 최대진폭이 발생해야 한다. 따라서 공구 혼은 발진기의 가진 주파수와 공구 혼의 고유주파수가 동일하게 설계되어야만 한다. 공구 혼을 공진설계하기 위해서는 1차원 파동방정식을 이용한 이론적 접근법과, 유한요소 해석결과를 설계모델에 반영하는 방법이 있는데, 본 연구에서는 최초에 공구 혼의 대략적인 치수를 1차원 파동방정식을 통해 결정하고, 유한요소 해석 결과를 바탕으로 최적 모델을 선정하여 공구 혼의 최종 형상에 반영하였다. 이와 같은 내용을 실제 커팅용 공구 혼의 기초자료로 활용하고자 하며, 추후 제작 및 실험 데이터를 본 연구내용과 비교할 예정이다.

  • The cutting performance of a machine depends on the ability of the design of the acoustic horn to facilitate an increase in tool-tip vibration, allowing a significant amount of material to be removed. In this paper, three kinds of acoustic horns were designed and FEM was used to estimate displacement magnifications of horn tips. An optimization procedure for the profile has been followed to obtain maximum magnification, for higher rate of material removal and safe working stresses for the horn material.

  • A horn antenna having dual-band and dualpolarization operation is proposed. To implement a small-sized structure providing circular polarizations in the Ka- and K-band, the antenna is designed by using the horn radiator on the basis of a conical helix which is exited by two ports for TX and RX in both ends. Through a design optimization process, a compactdual-band and dual-polarized horn antenna having high gain and high isolation performance was realized.

초음파 금속 용착용 반파장 혼의 설계 (A Horn of Half-Wave Design for Ultrasonic Metal Welding)

  • Ultrasonic metal welding is one of the welding methods which welds metal by applying high frequency vibrational energy into specific area at constant pressure, avaliable in room temperature and low temperature. Ultrasonic metal welder is consisted of power supply, transducer, booster, and horn. Precise designing is required since each parts' shape, length and mass can affect driving frequency and vibration mode. This paper focused to horn design, its length L was set to 62mm by calculating vibration equation. By performing modal analysis with various shape variable b times integer, when length of b is 30mm the output was 39,599Hz at 10th mode. Also by performing harmonic response analysis, the frequency response result was 39,533Hz, which was similar to modal analysis result. In order to observe the designed horn's performance, about 4,000 voltage data was obtained from a light sensor and was analyzed by FFT analysis using Origin Tool. The result RMS amplitude was approximately 8.5${\mu}m$ at 40,000Hz, and maximum amplitude was 12.3${\mu}m$. Therefore, it was verified that the ultrasonic metal welding horn was optimally designed.

  • 본 논문에서는 28GHz 대역의 5G 이동 통신 중계용 혼 안테나의 방사 패턴, 반사손실 등의 성능을 고려하여 중계용 안테나를 설계하였다. 안테나 소자를 위상 배열하여 5G 이동통신 중계기용 혼 Array를 설계하고 성능을 분석하였다. 밀리미터파 대역 통신에서는 기존의 WCDMA(3G), LTE(4G)와 달리 송수신 간의 높은 경로 손실이 발생한다. 5G 밀리미터파 혼 안테나 설계에서는 안테나의 이득, 대역폭뿐만 아니라, 안테나 소자 간 격리도, 이득 등의 안테나 성능을 추가로 고려해야 한다. 28GHz 대역의 단일 혼 안테나(1×1)와 배열 혼 안테나(2×4)의 안테나 이득은 각각 약 10.44dBi와 19.58dBi, 반사손실도 -18dB 이하의 특성을 되도록 설계하여 측정 결과로부터 구현의 타당함을 입증하였고, 5G 이동 통신 중계 시스템에 응용에 적합함을 보였다.

  • Ultrasonic meching technoloy has been developed over recent years for wire bonding.In this study, ultrasonic welding horn is analysed and designed with FEM, then manufactured based on it. The wire bonding mechine has been designed by conical horn model with very easy to come by and is readily accessible. The analysis is carried out by SoldEdge & Ansys software.

  • The technique with ultrasonic vibration refers to the many industries. Especially Ultrasonic Connection Method is widely used for mobile battery, secondary battery, automobile components and also they recently started using it for terminal connecting of solar community battery. In this study, ultrasonic welding horn is analysed and designed with FEM, then manufactured based on it. Resonance frequency and amplitude of horn would be measured and compared with the designing result to judge the suitability. Al/Al specimen is welded by the manufactured horn and verify its performance via the weldability evaluation.

  • This study evaluated electrical characteristics of the manufactured arcing horn whose rated voltage and nominal discharge current were 18kV and 2.5kA, respectively. In this study, residual voltage and lightning impulse flashover voltage were examined. The arcing horn showed excellent electrical characteristics that residual voltage and lightning impulse flashover voltage were 55kV below and 121kV at 115mm, respectively. Therefore the manufactured arcing Horn is considered that it would show good performance for protecting electrical wires and line post insulators from lightning impulse, if it were applied to real fields.
