Since it costs a lot to build a home network system of new service provider, the entry barrier is quite high. If it would be possible to build a home network system with high performance at a low building cost, it would be quite attractive. If a home network would be built in P2P-SIP(Peer to peer - Session Initiation Protocol) structure, it is possible to decrease server maintenance cost and keep high usability by deconcentrating the traffic concentrated on the server. It is also possible to efficiently manage the location information of terminal, if quorum system based on fuzzy logic would be applied. In this paper we propose the P2P-SIP structure applied of quorum system based on fuzzy logic by which a home network system can be built at low cost. It was possible to know by comparing the structure with existing one that the structure has very good performance.

The purpose of this study was to identify the level of awareness, uses, and satisfaction on home automation systems by the digital home residents, to reveal the existing problems using home automation systems, and to clarify residents' positive or negative life changes after using home automation systems. Two apartment complexes, which were relatively well equipped with home automation systems compared to other recently built apartments, were selected to perform the survey by digital home residents who were housewives and have lived in current home more than 6 months. The researcher developed a survey questionnaire for each apartment complex and collected data from 501 residents from May to June, 2008. The results of the study found low awareness and low uses of remote control systems of electric appliances through a cellular phone or PC from outside. Also, the significant variables which showed group differences in level of uses and satisfation were age, annual income, duration of residence, and level of considering home automation system before decision to move in. The results of the study also revealed that frequent breakdown was the most critical problem using home automation systems. Generally, using home automation systems affected to residents' life changes positively. More findings and suggestions for development of more user-friendly digital home services were discussed.

The primary goal of this study is to analyze fire hazards of electric home appliances such as electric iron and electric heater using fault tree analysis(FTA). A fault tree(FT) is constructed and used to analyze fire hazards in electric home appliances. The fault tree is built from events that may occur in electric home appliances. The failure rate of basic events are derived from the value of experimental results and reference. And an algorithm analyzing fire in electric home appliances is suggested. We show how fault tree analysis, carried out by means of failure rate, is able to diagnose fire hazards of electric home appliances in a precise manner. We present numerical results such as fire probability of electric home appliances, importance measure, fire cause, etc. It can be helpful in preventing the fire hazards in electric home appliances.

Presented here are policy alternatives for understanding home health care for the long-term health care insurance system which is being developed for elderly people starting 2007. The summary of issues concerning home health nursing care under the long-term care insurance system include; 1) absence of comprehensive and systematic policy in home health care deliverly systems; 2) absence of community based home health agencies that are considered as the community residents in general. In order to overcome these problems and Issues, policy alternatives of home health care should 1) establish a comprehensive home health care policy for homebound persons; 2) establish the foundations for home health care nurses and community based home health care systems; 3) establish home health care facilities and infrastructure; and 4) promote research and development concerning home health care. Conclusively, a home health care system should be built on a comprehensive policy vision based on health policy, especially long-term care insurance system in the near future. Every homebound residents service has to be constructed systematically under suitable facilities considering the consumer characteristics and health conditions. By doing this, the consumer based comprehensive community home health care delivery system can be constructed in view of the long-term health care insurance system for elderly people.

The purpose of this study was to determine the present condition of sick house syndrome of newly built apartments a mid-sized city. The questionnaire survey was carried out from $19^{th}\;to\;22^{nd}$ of May 2004, with respondents consisting of 160 households living in two apartment complexes of Cheongju. Their residency periods after moving in were within $six{\sim}ten$ months. From the survey results of the respondents, sick house syndrome items revealed high percentages with the highest value of 49.3%. The respondents answered that they knew relatively well about sick house syndrome but they had no knowledge about 'bake-out'. The response percentages of sick house syndrome items in E complex, consisting of $106m^2$ (32 pyeong) size units, were significantly higher than those in A complex, consisting of $76m^2$ (23 pyeong) size units. This result suggests that the pollution levels emitted from interior materials in larger sized apartment units are higher than those in small sized units. The response percentages of sick house syndrome items in houses with fulfilled ventilation which had been ventilated before or after moving in were lower than in houses not ventilated.

Increase of aging population and demands for care and support systems, needs and demands for a variety of care services and housing facilities have increased. With the emergence of gerontechnology, tangible and intangible technologies and innovations have been explored and developed in many countries. Since housing environment is very important to define well-being and quality of life of the elderly, technology applications in the living environment are considered as important means. The purpose of this study is to enumerate and investigate technologies for the elderly to assist daily living and help care providers, and to explore technology applications in the built environments. This study also investigate how intelligent technologies are installed in the built environment and physical consideration for a variety of approaches. The content analysis was conducted to investigate technology developments for the elderly based on web materials and publication materials. The seven examples were chosen since they are seeking technologies especially for the elderly or aging-in place. General goals for the diffusion of intelligent homes expecially for the elderly are to be easy to install and remove, unobtrusive, redundant cueing, easy to use, and robust. The results of this study suggest application considerations for the technologies of the built environment for the elderly.

It is estimated that 2.25 million households accounting for $13.5\%$ of total households will have home networking in 2025. As the need for intelligence and sustainability of residential environment has been increasing, the growing demand for intelligent house is obvious. The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of consumers on digital home and their needs. A web-survey was conducted and the survey participants were limited to residents living in housing built after 2003. A total of 120 responses were used for data analysis. The images of digital home were categorized into environmental friendliness, convenience, and sophistication. Also the respondents showed the strong need for functions of digital home such as safety from emergency and entertainment.

From being understood as a dwelling, the concept of home is extended to denote belongingness and a sense of attachment in which spiritual, ethnic, religious and historical identities shape a sense of self. Hence, home with its expanded definitions is considered as a cross-cutting and fundamental theme in works by Võ Phiến, one of the diaspora's towering minds who devoted his life to capturing the rich details of Vietnamese culture, its villages and locals. This article pays attention to the cultural space created through Võ Phiến's tuỳ bút written when he lived in Saigon and California. Many representations of home were argued as evidence of subtle influences of the historical and social context on the way Võ Phiến perceived and built his own homeland. By observing disruption and continuity through the expressions of the home in Võ Phiến's writing, we shed light on how Võ Phiến managed to create an indigenous cultural space towards social interactions of Western ideology in South Vietnam from 1964 to 1975.

This paper reviews a new kitchen space by analyzing the user life style and their house environment where ubiquitous system is considered. The kitchen space where ubiquitous system is applied was differ in their house atmosphere and the role of kitchen area. Those changes under ubiquitous system has the kitchen becomes the central space of the house and the furnishings including home appliances and furnitures. This furniture and built-in machine will get a communication ability with user in the living and kitchen space. And it will include a high technology like as RFID, home network and so on.

The purpose of this study was to develop motorcycle wear with built-in airbag protection for enhanced comfort and fit. Based on the survey results, a motorcycle jacket was designed using. Aauto CAD. This study concentrated on the wearing comfort comparison of the motorcycle jacket developed from this research with that of and foreign goods. To evaluate the wearing comfort, 3 types of motorcycle jackets were used. The results of this study were as follows. : From an Analysis of the differences in wearing comfort, the motorcycle jacket developed proved to be more convenient than the 2 types of foreign motorcycle jackets in terms of the standing and handle grip posture. This effect was due to the curved pattern of the neckline part of the airbag. The air pressure of the airbag must be improved.
