  • As smart home network services such as home CCTV, outdoor control of home appliances, home security and disaster prevention services become popular, there appear various affiliated products including smart home gateway and smart speaker. Since those services are generally developed on the vendors' individual hardware and software platforms, it is not much expected for them to interwork well among different architecture and communication methods. In this paper, we propose a new home network service system running on an open source platform to address such issues. We implemented a home network system using OpenWRT-based wireless router(or access point) and Zigbee communication technology. In the proposed system, a wireless router replaces a commercial home gateway and small control units implemented with Arduino control electronic devices and sensors in home. Several service scenarios are also implemented to verify the operability of the proposed system.

  • In the virtual home environment (VHE), which was proposed to offer global roaming and personal service environment portability, user's profiles and service logics are conveyed from home network to visited network to provide services at the visited network. Because user's profiles and service logics may contain confidential information, some procedures for mutual authentication among entities for offering confidence are needed. For these issues, we propose and analyze three 3-Party mutual authentication Protocols adaptable to the VHE in 3G ; password based mutual authentication protocol, mutual authentication protocol with CHAP and key exchange and mutual authentication protocol with trusted third party.

  • Recently, due to the rapid advances of mobile communication, multimedia service can be provided by mobile devices. Cellular network tends to uses SIP as a call setup protocol in order to provide various multimedia service to consumers. Cellular network holds the characteristic of higher BER(Bit Error Rate), narrower bandwidth than the wired network. The value of SIP RTI(Retransmission Time interval) based on the wired network decreases a network efficiency and increases a call setup delay over cellular network. By using NS-2 simulator, we show new SIP RTI value adequate over cellular network. We design and implement home network by using the modified SIP that is suitable for cellular network.

  • In the era of home automation, we need more context-aware and intelligent service applications than before. For these applications, a service gateway as a platform is required to bridge the gap between external data networks to internal home networks. Also, the sonics gateway enables customers to receive new classes of home services. The OSGi service platform is a good solution for the service gateway since it can deliver new applications dynamically from a broader network. In the near future, every home will be equipped with a residential gateway powered by the OSGi, and will demand value-added service applications, such as home security monitoring and safety alerts. • As home network is increasing to use, home network industry is developing too. Also, it is to be a popular subject in the network's topics. In this reasons, home network become a important thing because home gateway function is working between access network and home network. In the home network, it relates on the personal computer, home pad, and digital television. But, home gateway is not prepared standard point about techniques. Therefore, many kind of technique want to try for developing of home gateway's functions. Usually, we use ID/PASSWORD method in network control system. But, we found a lot of problems about classical network system while we experienced Jan/25 big trouble. We are considering about that home network system are using same network net. Therefore, seriously we have to check about security and safety at the home network's environment. This report focus on the home network's environment to control for using and efficiency and then it wants to find ways to protect from the internal and external attacks. Existing ID/PASSWORD method it used a electronic signature and the security against the approach from of external watch, the MIB structure of role base and the security of the Home network which leads the authority control which is safe even from the Home network inside it strengthened it used compared to it proposed.

  • This paper describes UPnP AV System which provides various multimedia services in home network composed of diverse multimedia devices. It is difficult to build home network where various multimedia services can be provided because there are a lot of difference devices, platforms, and network technologies. However, UPnP middleware can make up multimedia service environment in that home network. Therefore this paper describes how the multimedia service environment is built with UPnP middleware. We analyze and modify MediaServer, MediaRenderer, and Control Point, which these are the components of UPnP AV archtecture. Additionally we provide some efficient GUI to use different kind of multimedia in any place of home networks. We propose UPnP AV Framework of playback module that consist of MediaServer providing contents, MediaRenderer using contents, and Control Point providing GUI. Especially, MediaRenderer and Control Point are integrated in set-top.

  • In this study, we realized the broadband home gateway system of dual mode based upon EDR 2~3Mbps transmission speed and 300Mbps of 802.11n, In broadcasting and telecommunication convergence networks to deliver multimedia services, high-quality home. The bluetooth module is designed to use general low rate data speed service and the 802.11n module also is designed to use high rate speed service at various home network situation. The dual mode home gateway system, bluetooth and 802.l1n module, is well realized for many specification such as emission power, spurious power, impedance matching, frequency channel test.

  • Recently, according to the network environment, there are many researches for home network. Nowadays, in home network, the method that access control policy is managed for each home device by using ACL is popular, and EAM (Extranet access management) is applied as a solution. In addition, the research about secure OS is ongoing based on open operating system and the research of user authentication mechanisms for home network using home server is also in progress. However, these researches have some problems as follows; First, the transmission scope of expected access technology in home network is wide, so unauthenticated outside terminal can access the home network. Second, user is inconvenient because user need to set the necessary information for each device. Third, user privacy and convenience are not considered. OSGi provides a service platform for heterogeneous technologies in home network environment. Here, user access control is one of the core parts which should have no problems such as above items, but there are no concrete researches yet. Thus in this paper, we propose an access control policy management framework and access control operation based on RBAC for user access control in home network environment in which OSGi service platform is operated. First, we list the consideration which is not clearly mentioned in OSGi standard, and then we solve these above problems through new framework. In addition, we propose the effective and economical operation method which reduces the policy change frequency for user access control by using RBAC concept though limited resource of home gateway. Besides, in this paper, these proposed policies are defined separately as user-role assignment policy and permission-role assignment policy, and user decide their own policies. In conclusion, we provide the scheme to enhance the user convenience and to solve the privacy problem.

  • An intelligent home network system using low-power and low-cost sensor nodes was designed and implemented. In Intelligent Home Network System, active home appliances control is composed of RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) based user indoor location tracking, dynamic multi-hop routing, and learning integration remote-control. Through the remote-control learning, home appliances can be controlled in wireless network environment. User location information for intelligent service is calculated using RSSI based Triangle measurement method, and then the received location information is passed to Smoothing Algorithm to reduce error rate. In order to service Intelligent Home Network, moreover, the sensor node is designed to be held by user. The gathered user data is transmitted through dynamic multi-hop routing to server, and real-time user location & environment information are displayed on monitoring program.

  • Ubiquitous network consists of various devices using several heterogeneous protocols and requires seamless communication between devices. This paper proposes a new hierarchical event service and multiple event server architecture to implement the service under ubiquitous environment. The proposed event service classifies devices by logical and physical location to abstract the idiosyncrasy of used protocols, and reduces network load. Due to the design consideration, the proposed architecture removes transfer of duplicated event data effectively. As a result, we can guarantee the reliable event delivery. The prototype multiple event server architecture was implemented according to the proposed idea and evaluated its performance under a home network test bed.
