This study analyzed the trends in home economics education research using the language network analysis method, focusing on papers published in the KCI list for 20 years from 2000 to 2019. A total of 501 home economics education papers analyzed through word cloud, centrality analysis, and topic modeling using NetMiner 4.4, and the results are as follows. First, the number of papers in home economics education published in the KCI listing increased gradually to 186 in the 2000s and 315 in the 2010s. The academic journals in which home economics education papers were published have been diversified to 16 in the 2000s and 22 in the 2010s. 60% of all papers were published in the 'Journal of Korean Home Economics Education Association', and since 2018, the number of papers published in the 'Journal of Learner-Centered Curriculum and Instruction' has increased dramatically. Second, in the 2000s and 2010s, home economics education studies published in KCI were categorized into home economics education content analysis, home economics educational program development & application, curriculum analysis, perception survey & direction exploration. In the 2000s, 'Home Economics Teacher' appeared as the main keyword, and a lot of perception survey & direction exploration were conducted. Relatively, the influence of 'development' increased in the 2010s, and many studies were conducted to analyze home economics education contents and develop and apply home economics programs. This study has significance in that it analyzed the research trend of HEE by expanding the analysis target and analysis period of the existing studies.

The main purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the development of secondary Home Economics education curriculum and program by investigating the recognition perceived by Home Economics teachers. We have done statistical analyses of 237 questionnaires on the Home Economics teachers' recognition. The results are as follows: 1) The respondents evaluated the necessity of Home Economics education in secondary school, application of aquired knowledge and technical skill and learning by practical experience, highly. 2) As for the contents of Home Economics education curriculum, the respondents place a high value on the field of Meal Management, Child and Family Studies, Home resourse Management and Consumer life, Clothing Management, and House Planning and Management, in the order. 3) The most important educational concepts are knowledges and understanding for the human beings.

In Korea home economics in the secondary school level was only taught to girls until 1995. So. home economics education only for girls was criticized to sexist education by the feminists. According to the 6th revision of curriculum. home economics has been taught to girls and boys. But some of curriculum developers raises another questions on home economics education. They argue that home economics is a subject which prepares students for the demand of their day-to-day lives. but they can manage their lives well without school learning. The purpose of this study is to explore the educational values of home economics in secondary education from the gender-sensitive approach. For this study, a literature survey on the nature of home economic education in secondary education and the content analysis on 12 secondary school textbooks of Home Economics were employed. The results are as follows : First, the educational values of home economics education should not be underestimated. The aims of home economics education is to help students grew into a independent person by managing their daily lives. The home is charged with fostering a side of our life which we might call Personal, private. intimate and nurturing. The management of the home needs good skills and attitudes. and many knowledges on the child rearing, family relation, marriage, love and sex, which can not be successfully acquired without school learning. And home economics education for boys and girls can help break down the barriers between the sexes because it can change the attitudes of students regarding the private sphere. which is traditionally where women have worked. Second. most of contents of Home Economics were composed of the women-oriented contents. There was a trend still describing that domestic labor mainly be carried out by mother. And the ideas that only the family consisting of two parents and their children is normal were founded. Finally directions of development of the Home Economics Education are suggested.

Since its establishment in 1989, Korean Home Economics Education Association has served as the premiere academic organization in the field, through the semiannual meetings, the journal, and other informal activities. The Association has played important roles in organizing the members and guiding the academic community in reacting to the many challenges that Home Economics Education in South Korea had to encounter due to the social and curricular changes. This study reviews the past 20 years' activities of Korean Home Economics Education Association in order to illuminate its accomplishments in terms of academic and non-academic activities. An assessment of the environmental changes was conducted, followed by thorough analyses of the semiannual meetings, informal activities, and the journal. The article is also discussing future tasks that the Association would need to pay attention to and thrive to accomplish in order to continue serving its role of guiding the academic community.

This study was to examine the contents of sexuality education in the 6th Home Economics 1 and in the 7th Technology.Home Economics 1 of Middle school curriculum by comparing those two text books. The result of the study was that: 1) the 7th TechnologyㆍHome Economics 1 has more sexuality education contents than in the 6th; 2) the 7th TechnologyㆍHome Economics 1 used much more vivid and realistic pictures to catch students' attention and bring educational effect; 3) the 7th Technology \ulcornerHome Economics 1 included more detailed information for the young students such as pregnancy, birth control, masturbation, artificial abortion, and prevention of sexual violence than the 6th; 4) although the 7th TechnologyㆍHome Economics 1 showed more developed contents for the sexuality education, it had still only theory based information that lost students' attention on this important issue.

The purposes of this study are to explore the several aspects associated with school life long education through home and family life education by home economics teachers and suggest the research and practicing model for this education and ways of activating it. The home and family life education with life long education perspective is defined and discussed why this education is needed in today's rapid changing society. The characteristics of school life long education are explained in terms of definition. legal basis, purposes and roles The needs of school life long education through home and family life education by home economics teachers are discussed in such ways as enhancing the public relations and the image of home economics education, contributing of home economics teachers to community and achieving the identity of home economics as a subject matter in secondary school. The systems model suggested for studying and practicing school life long education through home and family life education is consisted of input. throughput, and output. The element including in each process is related with each other thus the change of one element affects on both the other elements and the whole system. Several ways of activating of this education are recommended.

This study states a perennial question of "what should we do to heal oneself?" so that teenagers can build the ability to healing themselves at home economics education. The purpose of this study is to development a practical problem focused pedagogical programs and teaching-learning process plans for healing education in the home economics education. For this study, perennial concern and practical problem of healing related to home economics education were identified through the review of the literature related to the Korean and United States' home economics education curricula, and based on the analysis of educational cases in Korea and the United States, a practical-problem-focused program was designed for healing education. Teaching-learning process plans have been developed for practical reasoning instruction based on the designed practical-problem-focused programs and three systems of action. Finally, experts evaluated the developed practical-problem-focused program and teaching-learning process plans for healing education. This study is expected tp serve as the basis for Healing Education in Home Economics Education.

This study was designed to examine students' utility cognition and related variables on the ‘understanding of family and work’ in the Home Economics course. The subjects were 503 middle and high school students, and university students in Jeonju city. The results are as follows : 1) The level of utility cognition on the ‘attitude of sexuality’ was found to be relatively high in the Home Economics course. 2) There were gender difference in the evaluation of learning environment. and grade differences in the evaluation of learning environment, participation in class of Home Economics, needs for Home Economics, evaluation of learning environment. 3) The utility cognition of Home Economics course significantly differed by gender, participation in class of Home Economics. needs for Home Economics, evaluation of learning environment. and Perception of Home Economics. 4) The needs for Home Economics emerged as the most important variable in the utility cognition of Home Economics course.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the need of home economics education on high School male students for purpose, the questions raised in this study are as follows. 1. Does home economics education on high school male students needs\ulcorner and are whether not or home economics education on high school male students need different according to sex, age, edu-cation, income, occupation\ulcorner 2. If home economics education on high school male students need or not. What is the reason of that\ulcorner and are the reason of that different according to sex, age, education, income, occupation\ulcorner 3. If home economics education on high school male students need, what is the contents of home economics education and are that different according to sex, age, education, income, occupation\ulcorner The subjects of the study consisted of 183 men and women in Ch’ong ju City(over 21 years old) The data were analiged by statistical procedures such as frequency, X(sup)2, oneway ANOVA, two-way ANOVA, Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The major results of the study were summarized as follow: 1. The response rate on home economics education on high school male students was absolutely high(91.8%). of demographic variables, the only sex appeared the significant differences. the men groups responsed higher not to need than the women groups. 2. As the reasons of home economics educations on high School male students needing the respons of the highest response rate were that ‘as family community, family members understant, cooperated, and are responsible with each other or one anther’and that ‘as society becomes in-dustrial gradually, family members have to have the accurate perception, or attitudies on home life’of demographic variables, sex, income, and occupation appeard the significant differences. In the contrast of that, as the reaspon of home economics education on high school male stu-dents not needing, the reasons of the highest. response rate were that ‘as sex, the role is different’and that ‘home economics education needs not essentially to learn through the school education’. and there were not differences according to demographic variables. 3. As home economics education contents for high school mal students, the most need content part was child part. the second content part was family development and family relationships part. There was the significant differences according to all the demographic variables. Particulary, the lower the lever of education, in come and occupation were, the less the degree of need on all content part was.

The purpose of this study is to suggest some activation plans of vocational home economics high school education by analyzing the actual conditions of vocational home economics high school education and surveying teachers and students' recognition and their needs toward the present vocational home economics high school education. The data were collected through reference analysis. questionnaire and interview method. They were analyzed using SPSS. The outline of this study was as follows: First. some data for examining the development trends of vocational home economics were collected especially in terms of the social and economical change related to vocational home economics education. the development of vocational home economics education based on the current curriculum. and some trends of vocational home economics education in foreign countries. Second. the real conditions of vocational home economics high school education were analyzed according to the real conditions of curriculum management in vocational home economics high schools. Based on this result. a questionnaire was designed to survey teachers and students' recognition and their needs. The items consisted mainly of the curriculum management and satisfaction of school life. Third. some activation plans of vocational home economics high school education were proposed in terms of management system(3 items). curriculum management(5 items). security of teachers and their expertise(4 items). and administration and finance(3 items).
