The purpose of this study is to perceive the importance of Club Activities in Home Economics Subject, to analyze the actual condition of management in them, and to develop the model for Home Economics Club Activities. The subjects of this investigation are 252 teachers, who teach Home Economics Subject at middle school located in ChungNam, ChungBuk, TaeJoen, and KyungKi. The results of this study are as follows : 1. Club Activity is one of the educational programs to enhance the desirable development of individuals. And Club Activity is the curricular activity to meet the individual's interest and need as a whole man. 2. In schools which were located in large cities, or large schools, of girls'school, it was investigated that students'opinions was well reflected with sub-plan and master plan for club activities. But as a whole the facilities and spaces, and financial conditions for club activities were not good. In addition, there was the test for club activities at most every year taken. The Club Activities was managed formally, not desirably. On the other hand there were some school which was trying to manage the good program. 3. The model for Club Activities was developed on the basis of the result of the investigation. On the basis of these results, it can be suggested : 1. There should be the right understanding about the whole man education. 2. It is necessary to have an emphasis on self-directed activities and chances in Home Economics Club Activities. 3. It is suggested that Home Economics Subject should be emphasized through the desirable Home Economics Club Activity. 4. In order to develop the model for the desirable Home Economics Club Activity, there should be the post study considering financial support, students'need, number of students continued.
This study analyzes the teacher certification examination from 2014 to 2019. The research methods are summarized as follows. First, the questionnaire on tests conducted from 2014 to 2019 was divided into 'Teacher Eligibility Criteria', 'Assessment Area', and 'Evaluation Content Elements' for detailed analysis. Second, the examination for the 2019 school year from the 2014 school year compared the 2009 curriculum with the yearly question items in order to examine the correlation between the secondary school curriculum and test items. Third, this study examined the home economics department reflected in the curriculum of the five national universities. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, according to the results of the questionnaire survey conducted from 2014 to 2019, the field of Home Economics education showed the highest rate of 25% or more in all years. Second, in order to examine the correlation between secondary school curriculum and Home Economics test items, this study compared the results of the 2014 - 2019 school year examination with the 2009 curriculum. Third, as a result of analyzing the curriculum of the five universities of the National College of Education, the basic courses were properly established at all colleges of education. As a result, the correlation was high overall, even within subcategories, the rate of exams was high only incertain attendants and the frequency of exams was low at some attendants.
A survey of ecological aspects of food, focused on breakfast of 1,526 adults with various professional occupations such as professors, teachers, employees of government, bank and company, and 1,928 students of various levels in the urban areas, was conducted from March, 1984 to February, 1985. The results were shown as follows: Significancy was found between appetite at breakfast, and bed time, status of sleep, eating outside the home on the previous evening, meal or snack of the previous late evening, and exercise before breakfast. The study showed that only 15.2% of the subjects had a good appetite at breakfast; 28.1% had a poor appetite; others had indifferences. About 45% of the subjects had their evening meal between 7pm. and 8pm.; bank employees had breakfast further later than 9pm.. Surprisingly, 31.3% of the subjects had snacks later than 10pm..Nearly one-fourth of subjects, in general, and 34.4% of the subjects in Seoul, had breakfast by themselves due to different schedules of family members. Breakfast patterns of the subjects during a period of 7 days were distributed as follows: 5.5 times for rice-oriented Korean meal; 0.6 times for bread type meal; 0.9 times for the omission of meal. The study described that the subjects who had bread type breakfast consumed only 3.7 items of food, whereas the subjects who had Korean breakfast consumed 7.1 items, on the average. Better breakfast eating habits for an adequate daily diet should be emphasized through nutrition education for adolescents and at the worksite.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the children's self-perceived competence(in cognitive, social and physical competence domains)depending on age, sex, home environmental variables and peer group environmental variables. The subjects of were 772 children at age five, seven, nine, eleven and thirteen attending kindergartens, elementary schools and junior high schools, and 772 their mothers in Seoul. The main results of this study were summerized as follows; 1. Children's cognitive, sosial and physical self-perceived competences were significantly lower with increasing age.
This study was conducted to explore the factors that influence the development of happiness during childhood using longitudinal data obtained from the Korea Youth Panel Survey(KYPS). Specifically, the causal relationships between factors impacting the individual children, the home environment factor, and the happiness of children were examined over a 3-years-period. The subjects evaluated in this study included 2,844 children (1,524 boys and 1,320 girls) and 2,844 parents who were administered the KYPS. The data were analyzed using the SAS program. The results revealed that happiness that develops during childhood remains stable and constant, which indicates that prior happiness has a strong effect on future happiness. The individual factors affecting the children, which include schoolwork achievement and extra private education, were found to have a great influence on the development of happiness at all ages. The use of longitudinal data in this study is a new method in the field of Human Development.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the romantic attachment and interpersonal problems of college students. The subjects of this study were 220 college students in Seoul and A-san. The romantic attachment was assessed by the multi-item measure of adult romantic attachment (Brennan et al., 1998) and the interpersonal problems were assessed by KIIP (Cho & Park, 2005). The major findings of this study were as follows: First, 44.5% of the subjects were classified as fearful, 26.8% as secure, 18.6% as dismissing, and 10.0% as preoccupied. Second, a significant difference among romantic attachment groups was found with the fearful group reporting a higher level of interpersonal problems than the secure and dismissing groups. Gender was a significant factor on independent problem in interpersonal problems. Third, avoidance and anxiety of romantic attachment dimensions were positively correlated with interpersonal problems. There was a gender difference in the relationship between avoidance of romantic attachment dimension and overgenerous in interpersonal problems. Avoidance of romantic attachment dimension in female students was negatively correlated with overgenerous in interpersonal problems.
This study analyzes the relation of friendship and internet use on adolescents' internet addiction. The subjects were 117 middle and 106 high school adolescents living in Kwang-ju city. Cronbach'a, t-test, x²-test, ANOVA, Duncan's test were employed in analyzing the data by using SPSS 10.0. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: - First of all, most adolescents had a best friend and maintained an affirmative friendship showing high social function and satisfaction. And it was also found that internet use has been settled as a part of daily life among adolescents and over majority of the subjects reported themselves as internet addicts. - Secondly, boys had more friends than girls, but the frequency of interaction with their friends was lower than for girls. Girls showed higher scores in function and satisfaction with friends than boys. And girls used the internet longer than boys. - Thirdly, variables of internet friends and internet use showed significant differences on internet addiction. Groups using the internet frequently, more than usual, and groups using the internet to relax and enjoy showed significantly higher scores in internet addiction.

This study was conducted to compare the outward aspects, objectives, and the contents of Home Economics text books of middle schools of Korea, Japan, U.S.A. and England. The results were summarized as follows. 1. The outward aspects of tex books: The Korean text books were small in size and the quality of paper was inferior to those of foreign countries. The Japanese text books were written by many authors, contained many lab works and data. Text books of U.S.A. were big in size made with good quality paper and contained many colour pictures. Text books England contained many problems and lab works. 2. Objectives of the Home Economics and Unit objectives: The objective of the subjects of Home Economics was written only in Korean text books. The unit objectives were described most concretely and detailedly in Korean text books comparing with other countries. 3. Contents: Korean text books covered all six areas of foods, clothings, housing, home management, family and occupation and theoretical explanations prevailed. Japanese text books contained numerous lab works, lacked two areas of home management and occupation, thecontents included a few practical lab works two areas of home management and occupation, the contents included a few practical lab works. In the text books of U.S.A. contained all six areas of Home Economics were covered and special emphasis was placed on self discovory and self development, and vocational guidance was also stressed. The text book of England contained only three areas of Home Economics, clothing, foods and housing; the number of area was limited but the basic theories of covered area was intended to lead to self comprehension through questions and lab works.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the influential factors to home management ability of mothers and their unmarried daughters through researching the relationship of their home management ability. It would provide the basic data for the direction of Home Economics Education. The subjects were 653, from 20 to 30 years of unmarried women and their mothers in Chonbuk province. The questionaire was used to measure their Home Management ability. The measured areas were planing, creativity, consumption management, housework, evaluation, and human relation. The question items were respectively 6 and totally 36. Spss was used for the statistic. Frequency, Percentage, Means, Standard Deviation were used for general understanding. For data analysis, F-test, Pearson Product-moment Correlation, Duncan's Multiple Range Test, Stepwise Multi-regression Analysis were used. Lastly, the research pattern was examined by Path Analysis. The results were as follows. 1. The importnat influential factors to mother's home management ability were their schooling level and their perceived socio-economic status among the general factors(age, shooling level, perceived socio-economic status) and the family atmosphere factors(monthly income, family type). 2. The important influential factors of unmarried daughter's home management ability were the monthly income of their family and the socio-economic status perceived by them, among their mother's general factors, family atmohphere factors, their own general factors(age, schooling level, perceived socio-economics status, occupation, growing place). 3. The influence of mother's home management ability on unmarried daughter's home management ability was much more remarkable than mother's general factors, family atmosphere factors and unmarried daughter's general factors.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of teacher-directed and learner-directed ICT instructions on the learning achievement of Home Economics and resource management behavior according to self efficacy of learning. The subjects of this study were students, selected from the second grade of D Middle school in Daegu, who were divided into three groups - the traditional instruction, teacher-directed ICT instruction, and learner-directed ICT instruction groups. The students were decided into three groups by their self efficacy of learning level. The experimental instructions were performed, and the learning achievement and resource management behavior estimated using test sheets. The data were processed using two-way ANCOVA and Scheff tests for post-hoc analyses. The results were as follows: First, there was a significant difference in the influence of the ICT instruction on the learning achievement of home economics according to self efficacy of learning. Second, there was a significant difference in the influence of the ICT instruction on the resource management behavior according to self-efficacy of learning.
