The purpose of this study was to explore ways to help improve adolescents' happiness by exploring the influences of emphatic ability and family strengths on happiness. This subjects were 514 middle school students living in Gwangju. Data were collected from self-report questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS 22.0 program. The major findings were as follows; First, the adolescents' emphatic ability('viewpoint', 'identity', 'emphatic interest'), family strengths('family respect and affection', 'role sharing and problem solving', 'communication and bonds', 'financial stability') and happiness scores were higher than the median(3.00). Emphatic ability('viewpoint', 'identity', 'emphatic interest', 'personal suffering') and family strengths('communication and bonds') showed significant difference according to gender. Second, the adolescents' happiness was influenced by 'family respect and affection', 'role sharing and problem solving', 'financial stability', 'personal suffering', 'identity', and 'emphatic interest'. Adolescents' happiness was explained about 39% by these variables. In other words, the higher family respect and affection, both higher role sharing and problem solving and higher financial stability, with lower personal suffering and higher identity and higher emphatic interest showed the higher happiness. These findings demonstrate the emphatic ability and family strengths in adolescents influence on the level of happiness. As such, in order to improve the happiness of adolescents, it is necessary to energize those programs focus on the forming healthy family relationships and to design finance assistance programs that could attempt to minimise financial gap. Additionally, it is necessary to develop programs aimed to enhance emphatic ability and continue such programs in homes as well as at schools. Finally, it is necessary to implement curriculum that may improve family strengths and emphatic ability, which have influenced on the happiness in adolescents. Since the subject "Technology & Home Economics" helps to enhance family strengths, emphatic ability and eventually amplifies the happiness, it is necessary to expand and reinforce it as well as to make it a mandatory subject.

The purpose of this study is making the career education program related to the subject, Manual Training and Home Economics, to present the effective guidance and to improve career maturity of students about the unit, "Making a choice of career and Job ethics" of middle school senior's course. In order to estimate this program, 60 students of 2 classes were chosen as research subjects among middle school seniors and each of classes was divided into two groups, an experimental group and a control group. After the experimental group was trained the career education program related to Manual Training and Home Economics for 15 sessions, the effect was verified by comparing tests before and after program execution. In order to prove effects of the program. Each grade of both the experimental group and the control group was taken analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Result of the program experiment is following. First, after executing the career education program related to Manual Training and Home Economics to the experimental group, participants showed that both attitude and ability for career maturity were improved in each sub-factor field of the career maturity as a result of tests before and after program execution. Second, in program satisfaction estimation, most of students had a positive attitude and in every time satisfaction, they made high estimation on the program, especially including the proper level of students and interesting activities. Finally, the final program was completed based on the result of effect analysis of the program.

The purpose of this study is to seek out efficient multicultural education plans by investigating Home Economics teachers' perception of multicultural families and multicultural education. Thus, a survey was carried out to collect data mainly from home economics teachers who is working for middle schools. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. Firstly, there were more teachers who had some experience of contacting with multicultural families than those who didn't have, but it was not a big difference. Also, it was found that there were not many teachers who took multicultural education-related classes for their studying at college or had multicultural education-related teachers' training for their working as a teacher. Secondly, it was found that their respect for multi-races, recognition of multi-cultures, belief in multi-cultures and acceptance attitude toward multicultural knowledge were very positive. Thirdly, it was found that most teachers had consideration -centered viewpoints most of all. On the other hand, assimilation-based viewpoints were the least among teachers. Fourthly, teachers believe that multicultural society centered contents, which is a society where people get along with each other, should be dealt in class while executing education for multicultural families. Lastly, in regard to methods of executing education for multicultural families, it was found that they showed the strongest opinion that it should be executed all over the domain of every school subject as integrated education.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation of social support and aggression of early adolescents. The subject were 220 adolescents aged 11 & 14 years, who were enrolled 11 child welfare facilities or 6 public schools(3 elementary & 3 middle schools) in Seoul. That is, 110 institutionalized(IA) & 110 middle class home-reared adolescent (HA)s were examined. They subjects were asked to complete the questionnaire on social support and aggression. According to the results, 1)IAs perceived less support from peers or adults and showed more aggressive behaviors than HAs. 2)Significant sex difference was observed in aggression. Girls showed lower level of aggression than boys. 3)Adolescents' aggression was significantly correlated with social support. The more support from friends, classmates, and parents HAs perceive, the less aggression they reported. Though support from peers was correlated significantly only with anger expression, support from parents was correlated significantly with all the components of aggression. And the more support from friends and classmates HAs perceive, the less aggression they reported. These findings implicate that social support is a important factor in preventing aggressive behaviors of early adolescents.

The purposes of this study are to evaluate the research trends of articles published in the Journal of the Korean Family Resource Management Association from 1997 to 2008, and to identify the contributions as well as the inherent limitations of these articles in the field of family resource management. For these purposes, this study analyzed 3 types of research trends: research topic, research method including data analysis, and research subject. The findings of this study are as follows. First of all, the study shows that most number of researches are conducted on management subjects, followed by management practice and management theory. Secondly, regarding the frequency of the research method, the empirical researches are the most prevalent method employed by the researches, over literature or practice researches. Thirdly, it is noted there are more quantitative researches than qualitative ones. Finally, there are a lot more researches carried out on the traditional household than those of vulnerable households.

The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate practical problem-based Home Economics lesson plans applying to the multiple intelligence teaching learning strategy, focused on the unit 'Nutrition & Meals' of middle school Home Economics subject matter. To achieve this purpose, the lesson plans were developed and evaluated from the 72 middle school students in Chongju after implementing the instruction. The data from the questionnaire were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 12.0 and content analysis. The results were as follows: First, the objectives of practical problem-based 'Nutrition & Meals' Instruction using multiple intelligence teaching strategy were to understand the importance of nutrition and health in an adolescent period and to develop good eating habits. The Practical Problem was 'What should I do for good eating habits?' and the learning contents were healthy life, the kinds and functions of nutriments, food pyramid and a food guide. The learning activities were progressed by various types of teaching and learning methods including 8 types of multiple intelligence teaching strategy. The lesson plans were developed according to the process of practical problem solving model. 6 periods of lesson plans and worksheets were developed. Second, the practical problem-based instruction using multiple intelligence teaching-learning strategy were evaluated to increase students' positive learning attitudes, motivation, and good eating habits.

This study is to measure the thermal resistance of 7 types of Parka of different materials with thermal manikin and to compare their effects on physiological responses & subjective wear sensations. Following are the results obtained from the experiments 1) From the thermal manikin experiment, i) As an outer layer, although not significant, water proof fabric was warmer than water proof-vapor permeable fabric. ii) In case of insulating material, down was better for thermal resistance than polyester wadding of the same thickness. Moreover, as the down was thicker, it had more efficiency in thermal resistance. However, the marginal efficiency of thickness was found to be decreasing. 2) From the male-subject experiments, i) Chest temperature, mean skin temperature & microclimate temperature showed the same results on thermal resistance as those of the thermal manikin experiment. ii) Only during rest periods, there was a significant difference among 5 insulating materials in the sense of microclimate humidity. The almost same conclusion was obtained from the above experiments. Even the outer layer did not significantly affect thermal resistance & subjective wear sensation, insulating materials had a significant influence upon them. But in case of 3.5 cm down, it gave less comfortable than that of the thinner. Therefore the optional one for the best comfort & thermal resistance among 7 combinatins is the outer layer of water proff-vapor permeable & insulating material of 2.1 cm down.
The purposes of this study were 1) to identify the effects of psychological characteristics and peer acceptance on female adolescents'clothing behaviors(clothing attitudes and preference for up-to-date style), and 2) to determine the differences in psychological characteristics and clothing behaviors among subject groups classified by sociometric status. The questionnaires dealing with public/private self-consciousness, adolescent egocentrism, self-efficacy and clothing behaviors were adapted from precious studies. Peer acceptance was measured using Coie and Dodge(1983) method. The data were collected from 485 middle and high school girls living in Seoul, Korea. From the results of multiple regression of psychological characteristics and peer acceptance on clothing behaviors, clothing sexual attractiveness, clothing exhibition, and clothing importance were found to be influenced by public self-consciousness, adolescent egocentrism and peer acceptance. Fashion leadership and psychological dependence were influenced by egocentrism and self-efficacy. Preference for up-to-date style was influenced by egocentrism, public self-consciousness and self-efficacy. One-way ANOVA was used for analyzing the differences in research variables among subject groups classified by sociometric status. From the reset of middle school girls it was revealed that ignored group showed the highest score in clothing importance, whereas both popular group and rejected group showed the lowest score in social self-efficacy. In high school girls, controversial group showed the highest scores in adolescent egocentrism, fashion leadership, and preference for up-to-date style.

The purposes of this study were to investigate the current status on stating a summary of assessments in the practical arts education and to analyze the problem and find out the reformation strategy for them. To achieve these purposes. 180 teachers working in all elementary schools located in Daegu-city was selected by systematic cluster sampling method. The data were collected by using the mailed questionnaire developed by the researcher, and there was a response rate of 91.7%. Findings showed that it was not realized the valid and reliable stating a summary of assessments because it was not fixed throughly in the elementary school. So many teachers had difficulties in assessing the practical arts subject and stating a summary of assessments. They used the computer programs of CMI(Computer Management Instruction) . Black Box. SA(Stand Along) for stating a summary of assessments. It was recommended that valid and reliable criteria of stating a summary of assessments should provided, and on-the-job training on the developing and selecting a good tools for stating a summary of assessments should required. And. it was also required that the various codes of stating a summary of assessments should developed. and the various materials. equipments. and systems should provided for teachers.
In the point of view, this study aims to examine the life of remarriaged old people after divorce and bereavement. therefore, the purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of married couple's relationship and remarriage in old age and help old people who want to be abused about their remarriage as a coping response of lire for widowhood in old aged. the subject were 14 old people who married over 53 years old bereavement and divorce residing in Chonju, Chonbuk and they had indepth interviews. 1. Most of subject would married with help of matchmaker under the consent a children and relative 2. The main motivation of remarriage was lone lies, however, for men being taken care and for women economic security were also important. 3. Premarriage experience seemed to help spouse adjustment between couples. 4. They matintained close relationship with there biological children. 5. There show a tendency to the bereavement woman remarriage life was happier than divorce woman. 6. When one of the couple had regular income, little economic conflict was there. In most case, wifes were younger than husband and economic stability after husband's death was their main concern and when the husband didn't show definite will to inherit asset to his wife, conflict got bigger.
